ANZ Gosford branch to my rescue :)
When trying to transfer a large sum of money for a real estate purchase yesterday and today, I've had nothing but trouble trying to get a straight answer from the ANZ telephone banking. After a number of 1800 phone numbers (telephone banking provided me) failed to engage with anyone who'd be able to help I resorted to an old business card I had in my possession from a previous visit to Gosford branch and got very lucky. Having the ability to simply converse with a personal banker who explained it was best bet to go to the nearest branch (whi...ch will be Blacktown), let's see how the experience is there but I'm told for a small fee of $28 it will be faster , I'll have a date/time stamped receipt to send to show if they don't get the funds today they'll be there tomorrow and my deal will be safe (fingers crossed). Put back the branches ANZ telephone banking doesn't work for a lot of people.

Branch Service was excellent when closing account
I recently moved my loan from ANZ to Westpac. Better rate as ANZ would not reduce rate until after I signed up with Westpac. Went to close all my savings and CC accounts with ANZ and was impressed by the St. Georges Terrace Branch service. Helped me find best way to transfer my offset balance to Westpac and even rang me up to inform me that my Breakfree package had been cancelled as requested. Thought as a customer leaving ANZ, I would get 'lesser' service but service was impressive. Too bad I had to go through all the work to change banks. If only ANZ offered me a better rate when I asked them instead of belatedly using retention team to keep me as a customer.
A bank that listens

We have been looking for a joint home loan and did application with 3 of the 4 Big banks, ANZ, CBA and Westpac.
Westpac was giving a very good interest rate but with many conditions in it, that we were not ready to do! Plus the borrowing power was coming lower!
CBA was giving a good interest rate but their valuation was not coming right on our property, even though they had a good customer service, but in terms of time, they could never keep up with the timeline they gave us.
And ANZ gave us everything that we wanted!
we lodged the home loan application on the 19th October for the 3 banks, and ANZ letter of Offer came first....The level of customer service was exceptional, it is worth talking to many people to get an exceptionally complicated case get through. They helped at every stage! Very very happy with ANZ, when other banks were asking us to remove the credit card, ANZ breakfree package gave us a higher limit credit card! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BANK

Good Will Gesture
I have been a customer of ANZ for many years now, and what they did for me, is worth writing about. I purchased an item online using internet banking transfer method. The item did not arrive and I lost my money over it! It would have been easy for a bank to say, next time be careful and get all their details of where you are sending your money. However, I got my money back from them the ANZ bank itself! I gained the impression it wasn't something the bank would normally do and why should they, afterall it was my stupid mistake! However, after t...hey began looking into the situation more, I got my money back. They called this a Good Will Gesture! I call it Brilliant Customer Service!! So much so, that it explains why they are still around today, and why so many people bank with them. Thank you ANZ. Unexpected and gratefully appreciated.
There's no such thing as a 'good bank', that would be an oxymoron. Having to choose between them is a bit like voting in an Australian election - largely inconsequential and you end up getting screwed over anyway.
Having said that, I have been with ANZ for more than 20 years, and they have received most, if not all of the money I have ever made.
I have found their services to be adequate - in that I have not been offended enough to seek an alternative more than three times.
Each of those times, I found the realised benefit of the alternati...ves to be disproportionate to the mental anguish involved. The key learning being that the only good dealing you can have with a bank is no dealing. To that end, the ANZ app has been sufficient in keeping direct dealings with the bank to about once every five years (more than I would prefer, but acceptable). I've been able to create and close accounts, dispute transactions, pay bills and send and receive cash as one would expect from an app that claims to do those things.
ANZ Falcon Anti Fraud Excellent
I have banked with the ANZ for several years and have had some mixed experience with some excellent and some not so good customer service. Lately though I have had very good experiences though.
Specifically Id like to recommend their anti fraud section "The ANZ Falcon" for doing such an excellent job by blocking my credit card when it had been hacked without my knowledge. True the 2 point phone security verification is inconvenient when doing new large transactions with vendors as well but these people know what they are doing to protect you...r credit and the bank security. Many thanks to ANZ for stopping a fraudulent transaction that would have costed thousand and ruined my credit rating as well as my holiday. The customer service although I was in Vietnam was quick and efficient. I was very pleased to not have to deal with overseas telemarketing people with poor English language skills when the call was being handled.

Since moving my merchant banking to ANZ Bank, I have been so happy. The staff are friendly, ANZ gave me a great deal for moving to ANZ! But today when I had issue with my EFTPOS terminal, the technical support team was excellent, it's such a nice feeling knowing that if anything goes wrong they are there for you! Thank you technical support team, you've made my day!

Excellent low interest loan
Got my loan sanctioned with ANZ with the lowest interest rate available in the market at 2.98% which is the best in the market. Even tier 2 lenders were asking for whole lot of documents for higher rates at 4.6%.
Very happy with the ANZ. Only issue being loan approval took 14 working days and I had my share of nervous moments with my cooling off expiring and having no word from the bank. My agent accommodated request to extend my cooling off which helped me to secure loan.
We have been with ANZ for the last 20 yrs and have a good relationship with them.
We approached the bank to get an investment property loan and the service of Princika Rajapaksa was exceptional keeping us updated of our progress of are loan when ever requested by us. Was a pleasure to work with, her personality and expertise advising the best loan for us was very beneficial.

Fantastic and efficient customer service
I have been an ANZ customer for 5 years and have found them to be extremely easy and efficient to deal with. Recently my Airbnb account was hacked and a number of fraudulent bookings were charged to my credit card. Airbnb would not assist - they kept informing me a ticket had been raised and the issue escalated but I felt like the issue wasn't taken seriously.
ANZ on the other hand immediately cancelled the credit card, provided a replacement card and refunded the charges all within 5 business days and disputed the charges with Airbnb on our behalf.
Incredible customer service - the same cannot be said for Airbnb!

Questions & Answers
Have been trying for a week to get assistance with internet banking. Apparently one of the biggest four banks cannot access online banking. Everyone I call I get the same line ‘we cannot assist you at this time try in a few hours’ What every day for a week! Time to look at another bank!
