Been a customer for over 10 years but not anymore.
I have been a customer with Apollo Blinds since 2007 and updated our whole house when we moved in having done vertical blinds in 2007 great customer service. In 2014 we did a mini renovation and decided to change the look from vertical blinds to roller blinds. Apollo blinds came out and assisted us with the changes and gave us ideas and colour choice and kept us updated all throughout the whole process. We love the new look. In 2017 we decided to change the windows from the outdated wooden frame to aluminium frames this new structure meant the ...old roller blinds needed to be resized and we went back to our trusted Apollo Blinds and they assisted us with the changes. In 2018 we did some major work on the house with new stencil concreting in bluestone and new fencing in a similar colour and then realised the existing wooden door for the garage being white which does not match our colour scheme plus it was a bit worn so we are tossing whether to replace the doors or seek alternatives. So we called our trusted supplier (Apollo Blinds) back. They came out and spoke to my wife showing her brochures and ideas when I got home from work. We were excited and says yes that will work. So contact Apollo Blinds back to start the ball rolling. They came out to do the measure and quote and at the time there was no colour samples to choose from so the salesman said he will put down white (default colour) and the unit is to be recess but we can finalised on the colour and if we want to put the box outside we can talk to the guy that come out to do the final measurements. He also told us if that is the case we will have to get an electrician to remove the flood lights where the box will need to sit. So the contract that we signed was for the colour white to get the ball rolling trusting them due to previous experience. Things started to go downhill when Apollo Blinds sent someone out to do the final measurements without us being at home. They claimed to have called but no calls were ever made and because it is the garage door outside and access was available. They went to did the final measurements on our property without our consent. The measurements went back to the office and payment was requested so we thought that we needed to put down some payment as a sign to show that we are committed before they send someone out to do the final measurements. But instead this was the payment that have locked in everything that was on the original contract. When the office called to organise a time for someone to come out. My wife said ok thinking that I must have agreed to everything. But I didn’t know anything. They came and installed the roller shutter in white which does not match anything and not only that they recess the unit making it impossible for my car to drive through. We then called the office and spoke to someone in the sales department she checked to see why this errors was made and said that the problems was when the final measurements was done the guy should have notified us not just rock up and do it. This was passed onto the manager [name removed]. He said he will look into it and get the matter fix. Weeks later still no results or feedback. I called the office again and was told that [name removed] is no longer works there and had to explained the whole story to [name removed] the new manager. He looked through the notes on their systems and told me that this is an error made by Apollo Blinds and that the process done in this case is not correct. He told me to leave this with him and he will escalated it to the correct department to get this sorted. So weeks have passed and still nothing. So I contacted the office again and was told that [name removed] no longer work there and the new manager is [name removed], so explained the whole situation again to [name removed] who decided to come out and meet me at the property. I was so over this situation and have loss a lot of time having to take days off work to meet with sales people and phone calls. The manager -[name removed] finally turn up after weeks of rescheduling appointments due to their “busy” schedule he was very blunt and rude accusing us that we have signed the contract and that was what was done. Without giving me any time to explain the situation. How can someone deal with Apollo Blinds again with this abuse and finger pointing. Never going back to Apollo Blinds again. December 6th 2018 Update: Apollo Blinds Wants to make an offer. Apollo Blinds being very apologetic and made me an offer me to pay for a new roller shutter which they have stuff up and refusing to replace it. Any managers that have agreed to replace the roller shutter have been relocated or fired as to avoid replacing a roller shutter that is the wrong size and colour. Errors started simply because of the salesman telling my wife to trust him that the colour on the contract was just because he have to put something down but we will be allowed to pick the colour of our choosing and the final size on the final measure and quote. But now because we have sign that contract due to TRUST it is now a long battle in court with the NCAT tribunal and the Department of Fair Tradings - I know it is only $1500 to some but that is our year of saving to get this done and now we are spending more time and money taking this matter to court because I am not letting Apollo Blinds get away with this malicious action.
Long awaited shutters look terrible.
Not happy with the look of my shutters. The bottom fixed panel is way too wide and looks very unappealing. The response from the Customer Service "Due to the fact that the shutters are custom made to suit your window sizes we are unable to change the shutter to have a smaller bottom stile." This response does not make any sense. When you go with the custom-made product (and wait for 3 months to get tit made!), you would expect that the sizes should be made proportional to the window. Would not go with this company ever again. Also, be prepared to wait over 3 months to get your custom-made shutters.
Unfriendly and unhelpful
Called for a quote and the unfriendly receptionist couldn't be less helpful if she tried. Very inflexible when trying to book in quote and one week later I'm still waiting for her to call me back to confirm when someone can come out. Won't chase them to spend my money
UNDERHANDED AND UNPRINCIPLED
Cancelled installation late afternoon day before. When installer did arrive was told he would be there between 2 and 4pm. Arrived at 4pm. 5 out of 8 blinds installed but Georgian scallop sat at the most ridiculous angle making it extremely difficult to operate the blinds which also look ridiculous. There was also serious miscommunication during the consultancy visit with me having asked for spring loaded with Tuks head pull but chain control having been put on order form although the Tuks head was on the form. Took photos and sent to consul...tant, Ian next day. He denied my having asked for spring loaded, ignored the ugly, poorly made, inoperable blinds in the photographs, told me to contact management if I didn't like it and hung up on me. Contacted management, Tony and sent photographs. He agreed was a very poor product and said the blinds would be replaced and that it would take about 3 weeks. Several emails and phone calls later, initiated by me because Apollo doesn't seem to grasp the concept of customer service in returning calls when they say they will, 5 weeks from date of promised re-installation and almost 10 weeks since initiation of purchase (having paid 50% deposit and full cost of $1600 day before botched installation as they insist) NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING other than telling me the first objectionable consultant who hung up on me would revisit to assess the blinds 5 weeks after the remake and installation date, has been done. Taking it to Trade Practices now.
Poor quality product; Poor customer service; Failure to rectify despite multiple attempts at rework
On 13th February 2018, we ordered 6 roller blinds from Apollo Blinds Sydney and paid the required 50% deposit. As we are renovating and given the time it takes for a custom blind to be check measured, manufactured and installed, in good faith and being none the wiser, we then ordered and paid the required 50% deposit for a further 4 roller and 11 venetian blinds on 26th March 2018.
What a mistake.
On 4th April 2018, the 6 roller blinds from the first order were installed by an Apollo Blinds Installer. Following installation it was eviden...t that there were faults with the blinds which were immediately reported by email to Apollo Blinds with pictures as supporting evidence. All 6 blinds had black finger marks noting I pointed this out to the installer as he was installing the first blind. He said that the marks are from the factory when the blinds are rolled up. I suggested he may want to use my bathroom and wash his hands but he continued on irrespective. I had to clean the blinds with eucalyptus oil and paper towel. In addition one blind had a hole (not great for a block out blind), three of the blinds measured short in width of the window frame (so much for custom blinds and check measures) and one of these three blinds also had the fabric crimped on the edges and no bracket covers. This was all at odds with the accompanying note in the packaging that states "the enclosed blind has been inspected before packaging and was found to be free of fabric faults, dirty marks and manufacturing errors". Way to go Quality Control! Deep breath. Benefit of the doubt? That is what a reasonable consumer or customer does isn't it?
No problem with the company or the product. The girl with glasses at front of house seemed far more interested in what was happening on her mobile than serving me, No interest in my questions, wouldn’t move from her seat to show me blinds. I found it a little Rude and unprofessional.
Family member experienced the same thing last year from what we believe is the same person except they had also walked out and handed the service to another co worker who was really good regardless of the fact they had to go through everything again
Trouble from start to finish.
Two sets of verticals for glass sliding doors arrived by installer. Installer discovered one set of verticals 100mm too short, the others were too long, so not installed. More delays, more pinning blankets over windows unnecessarily. Now another wait. Then hot txt msg from Apollo saying I needed to pay the installer on the day when I had paid the full amount, including installation fees in one full and final payment to Apollo Blinds weeks earlier. BE CAREFUL PEOPLE! I, personally, have had a bad experience with Apollo and would not recommend them to anybody.
AVOID THIS PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A COMPANY – THEY DON’T EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR!!!
Working in a business that lives and dies by our customer service, I am at a complete loss as to how a so called ‘Australian’ company with ‘a team of experts’ could treat any paying customers with such disrespect and rudeness... [Name Removed] in the Underwood office, her branch manager [Name Removed] through to the National Agent Liaison and Product Manager [Name Removed] have proven themselves to be nothing other than thieving liars.
- When we booked our check measure, we were ASSURED we would be sent a confirmation email as they needed t...he quote accepted in writing so we agreed to pay the 50% deposit - [Name Removed] turned up at 1pm and was rude enough to call me asking where I was as he was at the house when the appointment was booked for 3:30pm. He then he didn’t turn up until 4:10pm… which I had to take time off work for. - We were never sent the promised confirmation email (or even our receipt) so I emailed them to cancel the order as we weren’t happy with the ugly product we were shown - A week later, I still had not received a response so I emailed again and I got a text message to call the office, which I did 5 times … shock horror they didn’t answer their phone once. I also responded to the text message and got no response to that. I was later told [Name Removed] did not have the systems set up correctly to receive responses to your text messages… really professional…

One of the worst customer experience one could get
Order placed 27th march 2018 with 50% payment however, still waiting on blinds for the most important room master..
I am getting sleepless nights impacting health as apollo blinds can't even put a good temporary blinds forget about putting the one I bought and paid 3 months back.
For the newly built house. I started the procedure of finalizing my options. We were visited by sales Rep from Apollo in early March. We went through a few designs and finalized what we wanted. We signed contract on 27th March 2018 and were told that blinds gener...ally takes 3-4 weeks post check and Measure and Plantation shutters takes approx 6-8 weeks for complete installation to happen. We rejected the other supplier and went ahead with Apollo considering the timelines they committed to. This was the biggest mistake of our life as our builder took only 6 months to build the entire house however apollo blinds has already taken 3 months and still not confirmed when will blinds be up. Worst thing is they always give us a new date for installation, I make arrangements at my work place to stay at home and give them access, then they don't even have courtesy to call and confirm that they can't deliver what they have promised in time. We need to chase it up every time. Worst thing is they don't even know that what contract price did I sign, below are a few things which I noticed

My final order was a blind for my front door. Before proceeding I have to say it was partly my fault , despite having other issues with previous orders I did place the order because I thought it was the quickest option - Big Mistake. Initially queried the price as I thought it was high however was advised that the price was correct. Placed the order, paid the deposit and after chasing for some time, delivery was booked in. When the installer arrived I said to him that’s way too big it isn’t going to fit. Further measurements were taken and anot...her blind was made and installed. I contacted the office asking for a partial refund and received an email from the office agreeing that I had been over charged and would receive a refund and the amount was quoted. Then received an email from the finance department for a different amount. When I queried it I was advised to call [name removed]. I told the person in the finance department that I didn’t want to communicate with him and my reason for this was because when he came to measure up initially he had nothing but bad words to say about the office staff. Anyway the office girl called me to say that if I want the difference she would have to pay out of her money. I said we were not in a third world country. Any way all I received was what [name removed] calculated despite him making the error in the first place. So when he arrives to quote for you I would advise to get other quotes for comparison.
Don’t use.. Very poor service
Got many quotes and settled on Apollo. Big mistake..!!! Was told they would only take a few weeks.. yeah right.. nearly 3 months. I was living in a house with nothing on my windows. They tried rebooking and after some arguing with several people they took a $100 off..!!! Like that made a difference... even now after I have contacted several times about a incomplete blind they have not fixed it.. really disgusting service.. Will never use and never recommend.

**Do Not Use Apollo Blinds before reading this**
I purchased panel blinds from Apollo Blinds Head Office at Silvewater on 19th January 2018. (4 months later i am still waiting)
$1939 for Panel Glide blinds x2 (1x bedroom and 1 x lounge room)
I had them replace existing Panel Blinds in two rooms. Both same length. They got the lounge room almost correct (a little short), but made the bedroom one 40mm too short. The installer, who also did the final measure advised he would (in text) "get the girls in the office to re-book him" to replace with correct length. Instead he went...
Very poor customer service and management
After taking half a day off work to be home for installation (as I was told too). The technicians did not bring all that was needed for my awnings and could not complete the job. There is a system failure here, I would have thought if you were going to travel more than an hour for a job, all the parts for the job would have been checked off first? I asked the technician to get his manager to give me a call that afternoon and I received no calls. After waiting another 3 days I STILL didn't get a call back so i called them. I thought it would onl...y be fair to be compensated for the time I took off from work considering I am paid hourly, all i received was stern words in relation to my clauses of the quote and considering the awnings have already been made I would not be refunded. I was also told (frustratingly) I didn't need to take the time off for the awnings at all. Awnings were organised install on another day; I didn't want to pay the rest of the deposit until the awnings were install so my family friend was able to oversea the installation. Once installed, I transferred the money over via the phone with Apollo staff to only receive a 101 message in my phone stating "if they don't receive payment in the next 20mins they will instruct the technician to start removing the awnings". Yet again I had to call back the Apollo staff to confirm I HAD PAID and there was no apology. Lastly I was never told I was going to receive a "discount" with the salesman. This discount was shown on the quote, which was used against me when I asked about compensation. This seems like a way to cover up issues like I had with system breakdowns on the Apollo management. This is the worst experience I have had with a supplier and would never use Apollo again nor recommend them to any of my family or friends.

Avoid Apollo Blinds
Apollo gave us a quote for installing our blinds and accepted a 50% deposit. Later they claimed they could not install the blinds as quoted and gave us a number of other alternatives, none of which were acceptable. They then deducted $100 from the deposit refund because they stated we had cancelled! Now they just refuse to answer any communication. This is not an ethical company. Do not deal with them.
Deplorable after sales service
After installation of an awning to cover to the front entry, on the first downpour water leaked onto the entry door and windows. I have now contacted Apollo Blinds on 6 occasions (3 email 3 phone) and still waiting to have this defect rectified. The door now has damage caused by leaking water and this company has no intention honoring their warranty.

Belmont NSW. Dreadful service.
We spent nearly $3500 on Smartwood blinds at Belmont branch of Apollo and have found that the slats are warping and don't close fully. We have been given the runaround since late January with two reps coming to our home and admitting that they get faulty batches from time to time. They offered to replace just he warped slats but to date they still haven't even ordered them. We have no confidence in the longevity of these blinds. Today we have had enough and are requesting a refund as the blinds are not fit for purpose and we are sick of their lack of action. No response so far to this morning's email, so tomorrow we will lodge our complaint with Fair Trading. So much for warranty. Avoid at all cost.
Don't care about the time and respects of customers
We went to Apollo blind and made the date of measurement and quotation in March 2018. Appointment date is 5 April 2018 and one of the Apollo guy contacted me and he couldn't come the appointment time and said make another time and said may be Saturday. So far never call me back again, they broke the promise before installation. For me, I won't trust like this kind of business, they should have to respect the time when they agreed before they come.

Terrible service, not worth the time and effort
Took over 5 months to have roller blinds and plantation shutters finally installed, and plantation shutters took 6 attempts to install, as wrong parts were ordered.
I was charged for install of all roller blinds and ended up installing 3 of them (the largest ones) on my own as installer was unable to install (and I am not a blinds installer). Of course no refund for the install charge was provided.
Management was beyond incompetent in resolving the multiple attempts to order the correct parts to install the plantation shutters, resulting i...n 6 failed attempts requiring me to take time off work each time. Management team have zero communication between themselves, and are only good at talking, not taking action. Apollo blinds is a waste of time and money, there are smaller companies out there with better quality products and service, who are not just about taking your money and running. The whole experience was extremely disappointing, and I am surprised how companies like this are still around.
Please, please DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM, WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
I've order a plantation shutter for one small window back in November last year.
As of today 10/04/2018 not installation has been done yet. I called Appollo blinds on Monday to double confirm the day - YES Tuesday 10/04/2018 between 12-2pm. Before leaving work at 11:30 I called HO to make sure - Yes definitely between 12-2 pm. 2:30 no one showed up, called HO - been told he is running late, ok 3:30 - same story 4:50 I was told he is running late and won't be able to install it today. WOW !!! what a joke! So by midday when I called nothing has ...

I find it very strange that for every poor review of Apollo blinds by a verified customer with history of other reviews, there are about 5 or 6 five star glowing reviews from unverified sources with no other reviews under their belts. Could these be coming from Apollo to maintain a high star rating? I suspect not many people write glowing reviews when they just get what they paid for, it’s more likely they review when they don’t!
Many of the unverified positive reviews use the same terminology such as 'the whole process', 'from the beginning to end', 'every part of the sale', 'from the first contact' which is actually a warning sign according to product.review.com.au themselves. ACCC may be interested. Disclaimer: dissatisfied customer...

Apollo Blinds complies with the guidelines set by ACCC. We currently have 555 reviews including 383 excellent (5 star) reviews so we are not sure where you get “5 or 6 five star” from. The inference that we are fabricating reviews is false. All of our customers are genuine. Product Review guidelines do not make it mandatory to be verified as demonstrated in their statement: “At the discretion of our Moderation Team, we will ask for a proof of purchase after publishing a review.”
Apollo Blinds was recently advised by NCAT that they were surprised companies did not take legal action against customers who are clearly intent on damaging the reputation of a business. Clearly, no business in this world is perfect especially in a made to measure environment but we do have integrity.
Ok, let me start by saying why is this such an issue. I just put a simple review online of a product that i am extremely happy with and some sniveling tool bag comes on and questions my integrity. His opinion to me rates about as high as his iq of 5 or 6. I am an honest individual with integrity and I do not make comments that aren't warranted. I have no affiliation with Apollo blinds nor have I been offered any intensives for the comments I made. I take offence firstly at having my integrity questioned, secondly having my good intentions discredited and thirdly having to follow on with this crap. As a consequence I will not be doing anymore product reviews no matter how good my experience may be. I request that I no longer be contacted on this matter or any other. The only other thing I wish to say is this. The ACCC! Really? They are as effective at policing consumers rights as a labor government is at reducing the deficit.
