Ordered 5 blinds from Apollo in which my design was very specific. The installation seemed fluid but once installed nothing looked like I ordered and wanted. No managers were accountable, everyone runs away from the true core of the problem. Out of the 5 blinds 3 were installed Despite the design stuff up. The other 2 is on route from Melbourne since mid November. Numerous calls later to Apollo, I find out today that the fabric chosen was out of stock hence why it was delayed but they happily took the full amount for the payment since t...he 15th of November. Apparently they will be delivered next Tuesday but I have my reservation. In fact the same design fault is likely to be in place so it will be re made, re built whatever term they will use to avoid giving me a refund. They are a disgrace and the lack of communication to obtain the truth is astonishing. I will never use their business nor recommend It. I had to send an email today to the top manager to find out the truth and a resolution to my issue. The next step will be taken further if am not satisfied with their response.

Cheap Chinese made material, below quality with no warranty commitment
Ordered bedroom and lounge room shutter blinds last year June 2019. Got them installed in Sep 2019. Lounge room blinds came with incorrect measurements, had to sent off for replacement. Bedroom blinds shutters came off in a few weeks. Have been in touch with Apollo blinds Moorabbin since then with [name removed] the store manager and [name removed] the installer. While I must admit they are to present to speak, but unfortunately my issues haven’t been resolved and it’s been OVER a year now. While the lounge blinds got replaced, the faulty bedro...om blinds have been forgotten and ignored even after me sending email after email, repeated calls and messages, regretfully I am resorting to writing this feedback and as a next step lounging a formal complaint.
Appalling customer service.
Blinds were ordered on 4th August and it’s now 7th September. Initial hold up due to delivery of dirty fabric, however there was NO communication from them. I only found out the day before installation when I rang to confirm. They then called last week to arrange installation for today and the installer turned up with only half the order. They knew this morning that only half the blinds had arrived but again NO communication. The excuse this time...it’s a Monday and we’re busy. Too busy selling, not enough doing! Do yourself a favour and buy your blinds elsewhere. No discount, no compensation for the double stuff ups. I really hope head office reads this review.
Do not go near this mob
A completely unsatisfactory experience with Apollo Blinds Sydney. Unless you are prepared to be mucked around, Do not go near this mob. Wrong COLOUR shutters delivered not once but twice, with wrong SHAPE as well the first time. Absolutely zero communication from anyone at Apollo regarding the stuff-ups (even after we filled in their Customer feedback form). No-one has taken any responsibility for customer liason (I don't think it exists) so we have had to chase THEM every time to find out what actually might be happening. 6 months and still waiting (for "another 4-6 weeks") for one set of shutters.
Rather than go on and on and write a 5000 word essay. The product we purchased Viewline shades were incorrectly measured and according to Apollo that was our fault. So we have a gap in our window and 4 weeks old and the blind cord has snapped. So we can't operate the blinds. Needless to say no one responds they have our money. So now I have disputed the payment with the Bank and when I get the money back I will be replacing with a better product.
It will be interesting to see if the bot from customer service puts on the fake empathy!!!!!!!!
Stay away not worth dealing with Apollo.
Worse Customer Service ever experienced
I ordered my blinds in Jul19. After several several chases, ALL from my end, also told I MUST pay full upfront, an install happened finally in Feb20. THEN I find, shutters don't match and now one shutters are broken. Faulted out and still waiting for a resolution. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - told all sorts of lies. Result - still not blinds and $5K down.

WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE ..... inferior product, don't waste your time or money
In Sept 2019, I engaged Apollo to provide a quote on 5 timber look blinds to match my existing blinds, same size slat and pelmet as my existing but different colour. On 21 Dec the blinds were to be installed, however I noticed that when the first blind was installed the pelmet across the top was double the size of my original ones, looked ridiculous and were not the correct ones. When I mentioned it to the installer I was simply told that they are "standard". My reply is that this is not what I ordered.
On 28 Dec, I visited the showroom and ...
Do not purchase anything from here!!!
We received the worst customer service I have ever had from a company through Apollo blinds at Newcastle/Belmont. The wrong shutter colour was ordered when we placed the order back in October 2019 and after blaming my husband the rep then admitted it was their fault and re-ordered the shutters. We were offered "paper blinds" to get us through the summer months. We have only just had them installed after 6 months of following up- being told dates for install that didn't eventuate, waiting on contact from the manager and then escalating to the NS...W franchise manager who spoke to us once and agreed how bad the service was that they didn't even offer to install the wrong coloured blinds to get us through the summer and then didn't bother to follow up again after saying he would meet with the franchise owner. We were expected to pay full price with not even an offer of a small discount for the inconvenience and poor service we'd received. There are many other companies around, please do yourself a favour and pick another I wouldn't wish our experience on anyone!
Worst company I have ever dealt with!
I purchased an exterior blind from Apollo Newcastle to provide shade and shelter on the eastern side of a south facing deck. A rep came out, measured for the blind and gave me a quote. I payed a 50% deposit and signed the contract. The rep later rang to say a mistake had been made and the blind would cost more and I agreed to pay the extra cost. The blind was installed approximately 2 months later and from the start it caused problems; constantly banging which kept me awake all night. The fixer came back and shortened the fixings which f...ixed the banging, however within a week the fixing had ripped out from the deck and the blind had to be wound up. The fixer came back; this time I was told he was using longer screws that went down to the frame of the deck. Why anyone would use 2 short screws to fix a 5 meter blind is beyond me! Also I wasn't happy that they screwed the blind into the expensive spotted gum decking when there were sturdy steel posts available. This repair lasted one week before the blind pulled out from the superficial fixings on the bottom of the blind. Again I called Apollo and another fitter came out and replaced the fittings on the bottom of the blind; that repair lasted less than 24 hours! Apollo has refused to do anything about the problem and the blind has been wound up for over 3 months; providing no shade or shelter for the deck. The Apollo staff are extremely rude and refused to put me through to a manager to discuss the problem; in the end I was forced to contact Consumer Affairs. Consumer Affairs contacted Apollo; STILL Apollo refused to do anything and I was forced to go to mediation. Mediation was a total waste of my time and the two Apollo staff, Apollo STILL refused to budge or do anything on the basis that their blinds must be wound up if there is a strong breeze. Since the 'mediation' Apollo has not contacted myself or my son with an offer to avoid going to the Tribunal which involves time and effort for both parties. How much is Apollo's good name worth? Less than $1,700 (the price I paid for their inferior product). By constantly refusing to back down, Apollo has shown they do not give a damn about their customers or providing after sale service. This is not about the money, it is about principal; Apollo is selling products to customers that are not fit for purpose: an outdoor blind should be reasonable expected to be able to handle a certain amount of windy conditions; in this regard the Apollo blind is a FAIL! Anyone considering purchasing from Apollo, think again! Worst company with the rudest staff I have ever had the misfortune to deal with!
Useless, unorganised and waste of time and money on a crappy product!
Worst ever experience dealing with the people at Apollo blinds!!!!! First they rarely got back to you just to pay, then they get the measurements wrong and I had to follow up 3 times before they came back to me with an answer of what to do so they booked in a time to get it refitted and the factory didnt make it in time so my wife took of a whole day for nothing and they wouldnt be flexible with my time even though they stuffed countless times before!! Useless and crappy material as well that we still have issues with. Never use them!
From the moment I engaged Apollo blinds to install blinds to my windows it was a regrettable mistake. The technicians were disinterested and appeared keen to knock off.. rushing the measurements and in general showing poor attitude. Little surprise that when it came to installation 4 of the 5 blinds had problems from incorrect lengths to faulty mechanisms to damaged fabric! Then I had to try to deal with [Name Removed] at customer service in Newcastle...perhaps the rudest...most inept person I have ever had to deal with. I eventually after nu...merous returns and callouts was satisfied with the blinds. One year later small holes have appeared on those same blinds due to the handle tearing the back of the fabric...a design fault...upon enquiry I received an email 3 weeks later from [Name Removed] informing me it is not her problem! The very worst company to deal with...stay well clear!

Blinds were all WRONG size, and re-scheduled installation MULTIPLE times
I had a really terrible experience with these guys which involved:
1. Failure to install the blinds because they couldn't be found in the shop on the first scehduled day of installation
2. After re-scheduling, we found that all the blinds had the wrong dimensions and they could not be installed, leading to further delays
3. In the end it took 3 attempts to get the correct blinds installed
Originally we had one guy come and take down the measurements of all the places we wanted blinds and to give us a quote. We watched the guy measure all the w...indows and note down the measurements; he produed a quote which we were happy with and we put down a 50% deposit. A couple of weeks later we received a call that our blinds were ready and to schedule an installation date. We picked a date and paid the remaining balance. On the day of the installation, the guy who was meant to come called to inform us that he couldn't find our blinds anywhere and that there was no-one he could contact to find out where they were. This was a huge waste of time for us. During the next week, no-one from the store bothered to follow-up on our order about why the blinds weren't installed. In fact when I called them they asked me why the blinds weren't installed, how ironic! I'm supposed to be the one asking them that question! We re-schedule another time for the installation. On the 2nd day of installation, the guy had our blinds with him and he arrived at our place. However, upon checking our order and measuring the windows they were meant to go on, we found that 4 of 5 of our blinds had wrong dimensions! They were too tall and would drag onto the ground and also not wide enough and would barely cover the window space. One of the blinds in particularly only covered half the window! I get you can have measurements that are off by a bit, but half a window, seriously?! Unprofessional to have most of our blinds be of the wrong measurements. The guy took another set of measurements to submit again and we had to wait.

Extremely poor performance
Contracted to install some external blinds. After paying the full invoice, installer turned up but could not install as my waterfront required stainless steel brackets and these were not in the packing. Have now waited over 3 months for them to come back. Several emails and telephone calls finally got a installation date of last week. No one turned up on the day. Another phone call quote "I don't know what happened but will find out and get back to you". No one got back. After another phone call quote "installer on the phone but will get back t...o you as soon as he is off". No one got back. Another phone call this week quote "earliest date is in 3 weeks". This did not suit me. Seriously why does it take 4 months and so much chasing up by me? Still have not got a satisfactory date for installation.
Not happy with the way the blinds have been installed. Cords on opposite side to bunching on some windows. Some protrude. Got talked into bunching in the middle on some windows which spoils the view out the window. I will never have all windows open and it will let in too much light at night time if I open a window as I will have to move the curtains in, to stop them getting wet by rain or blowing in the wind. They will move in on both sides. Blockout not good. Installer had to come back as they forgot something and they were hours later than they said they would be and I missed a paid course. I have a friend who says you buy cheap, you pay twice. This is a perfect example of this. by Kim Pond Green Point 2251
Poor service, poor product
We ordered sloping Venetian blinds for our loungeroom and it was a nightmare from start to finish with the Melbourne franchisees who either ignore emails or put you on hold to get rid of you if you phone.
After their 12 visits for remeasures or remakes the finished blinds are a disaster. They are too short in some places and too long in others. I could have done a better job myself. I paid in full in October 2018 and have asked for a full refund and we still haven’t received one and it’s now May 2019. I finally had to get the national manager to step in and he has been fantastic and assured me we will finally get a refund.
Our only other option was to lodge a claim with VCAT. What a huge waste of our time
I phoned for a quote for an fixed aluminium shutter, on 23/4/19. I had measurements and told them exactly what I wanted. They do not do quotes over the phone but wanted send out a rep which I was not happy with. I was told they could give me a quote if I come into their Belmont office or send an e-mail. I was given an e-mail address which was wrong. On 30/4/19, finally after several attempts and researching I sent an e-mail . Reply came 1/5/19. The quote was wrong (shutter to be fixed not hinged) and was ridiculous. $889-63 with current promotion....$547-00 per shutter. Obviously do not want my business. Have gone else-where and got customer satisfaction at a much cheaper price
Appalling customer service
Absolutely disgraceful company to deal with and I don't even have the blinds yet, so not even sure if I'm going to get what I paid for. Original installation date was set 6 weeks from deposit. Date was cancelled by them with only two days notice with no explanation as to why. Was advised after having to press for an answer that part of the order would be another month away due to supplier issue (I don't believe this to actually be the case). Branch Manager was unhelpful & shifty, had to go to head office to get an answer. A full 8 weeks has now...passed and we don't still don't have blinds or an installation date. Was cheap, so not expecting quality products or installation but they would not issue a full refund on all products because the problem was apparently out of their control (again, I doubt this is true) so we have to go ahead. I don't want any of their shady staff in my home now but they've advised I have no legal right to cancel the full order so I appear to have no other option but to go ahead against my better judgement. Knowing what I know now I can advise any potential customer - don't trust Apollo Blinds, shop elsewhere, even if you have to pay more.
Terrible customer service
I would like to install Zipscreen/Ziptrack products to fully enclosed the verandah. I tried to get a few quotes from different companies for comparison. Every other companies can basically lock in a date and time before hand. Apollo Blinds is the only one can only book a date but the time left to be confirmed a date before. End up getting a phone message at night to call back but I missed.
On the day, the consultant called my half an hour before while I am driving to work. There is no way I can get back home at that time so I told the consul...tant to do the measurements first and we can talk over the phone afterwards about the colour of the fabrics and how to get them installed. The consultant refused to quote without me on the site. He told me if I just want a comparative price, just go to the showroom with my measurements. Basically get told off for not being at home and did not call the head-office to reschedule. But the fact is I don't even know you're coming!! I think their booking system is not working well. You can say that it's miscommunication. But more importantly, the consultant is rude. Anyway, one company to tick off the list.

Bottom and top rails too big on shutters - block light and look stupid
Plantations shutters installed in four panels on our 600 mm high window block out half the light because the bottom and top rails are 115 mm each leaving only 320 mm of window for light after frames. No confirmation email or documentation (even a receipt for the deposit) after the check measure so we were totally unprepared for this. Not happy and was told this is just how it is because of minimum rail/stile requirements. When the manager was advised, she was only concerned about getting full payment regardless of whether we were satisfied and ...went so far as to tell the installers to cease installing the other shutters until she sorted it out with us. Poor customer service skills. Buyer beware if you have wide windows that are not very high - often in new homes. The manager also stated they have never had anyone complain about this before but you can see review below on 21 October (rated Apollo as terrible) had a similar issue. Other websites show minimum bottom/top rail can range from 62 mm. Perhaps this is for faux timber or aluminium, but that would have definitely looked better than what we have. If I had wanted to board up my window I could have done this without ordering a shutter.... Issues with other shutters include a blob of paint on one blade and stiff mechanisms.
Been a customer for over 10 years but not anymore.
I have been a customer with Apollo Blinds since 2007 and updated our whole house when we moved in having done vertical blinds in 2007 great customer service. In 2014 we did a mini renovation and decided to change the look from vertical blinds to roller blinds. Apollo blinds came out and assisted us with the changes and gave us ideas and colour choice and kept us updated all throughout the whole process. We love the new look. In 2017 we decided to change the windows from the outdated wooden frame to aluminium frames this new structure meant the ...old roller blinds needed to be resized and we went back to our trusted Apollo Blinds and they assisted us with the changes. In 2018 we did some major work on the house with new stencil concreting in bluestone and new fencing in a similar colour and then realised the existing wooden door for the garage being white which does not match our colour scheme plus it was a bit worn so we are tossing whether to replace the doors or seek alternatives. So we called our trusted supplier (Apollo Blinds) back. They came out and spoke to my wife showing her brochures and ideas when I got home from work. We were excited and says yes that will work. So contact Apollo Blinds back to start the ball rolling. They came out to do the measure and quote and at the time there was no colour samples to choose from so the salesman said he will put down white (default colour) and the unit is to be recess but we can finalised on the colour and if we want to put the box outside we can talk to the guy that come out to do the final measurements. He also told us if that is the case we will have to get an electrician to remove the flood lights where the box will need to sit. So the contract that we signed was for the colour white to get the ball rolling trusting them due to previous experience. Things started to go downhill when Apollo Blinds sent someone out to do the final measurements without us being at home. They claimed to have called but no calls were ever made and because it is the garage door outside and access was available. They went to did the final measurements on our property without our consent. The measurements went back to the office and payment was requested so we thought that we needed to put down some payment as a sign to show that we are committed before they send someone out to do the final measurements. But instead this was the payment that have locked in everything that was on the original contract. When the office called to organise a time for someone to come out. My wife said ok thinking that I must have agreed to everything. But I didn’t know anything. They came and installed the roller shutter in white which does not match anything and not only that they recess the unit making it impossible for my car to drive through. We then called the office and spoke to someone in the sales department she checked to see why this errors was made and said that the problems was when the final measurements was done the guy should have notified us not just rock up and do it. This was passed onto the manager [name removed]. He said he will look into it and get the matter fix. Weeks later still no results or feedback. I called the office again and was told that [name removed] is no longer works there and had to explained the whole story to [name removed] the new manager. He looked through the notes on their systems and told me that this is an error made by Apollo Blinds and that the process done in this case is not correct. He told me to leave this with him and he will escalated it to the correct department to get this sorted. So weeks have passed and still nothing. So I contacted the office again and was told that [name removed] no longer work there and the new manager is [name removed], so explained the whole situation again to [name removed] who decided to come out and meet me at the property. I was so over this situation and have loss a lot of time having to take days off work to meet with sales people and phone calls. The manager -[name removed] finally turn up after weeks of rescheduling appointments due to their “busy” schedule he was very blunt and rude accusing us that we have signed the contract and that was what was done. Without giving me any time to explain the situation. How can someone deal with Apollo Blinds again with this abuse and finger pointing. Never going back to Apollo Blinds again. December 6th 2018 Update: Apollo Blinds Wants to make an offer. Apollo Blinds being very apologetic and made me an offer me to pay for a new roller shutter which they have stuff up and refusing to replace it. Any managers that have agreed to replace the roller shutter have been relocated or fired as to avoid replacing a roller shutter that is the wrong size and colour. Errors started simply because of the salesman telling my wife to trust him that the colour on the contract was just because he have to put something down but we will be allowed to pick the colour of our choosing and the final size on the final measure and quote. But now because we have sign that contract due to TRUST it is now a long battle in court with the NCAT tribunal and the Department of Fair Tradings - I know it is only $1500 to some but that is our year of saving to get this done and now we are spending more time and money taking this matter to court because I am not letting Apollo Blinds get away with this malicious action.

I find it very strange that for every poor review of Apollo blinds by a verified customer with history of other reviews, there are about 5 or 6 five star glowing reviews from unverified sources with no other reviews under their belts. Could these be coming from Apollo to maintain a high star rating? I suspect not many people write glowing reviews when they just get what they paid for, it’s more likely they review when they don’t!
Many of the unverified positive reviews use the same terminology such as 'the whole process', 'from the beginning to end', 'every part of the sale', 'from the first contact' which is actually a warning sign according to product.review.com.au themselves. ACCC may be interested. Disclaimer: dissatisfied customer...
Apollo B.Apollo Blinds
Apollo Blinds complies with the guidelines set by ACCC. We currently have 555 reviews including 383 excellent (5 star) reviews so we are not sure where you get “5 or 6 five star” from. The inference that we are fabricating reviews is false. All of our customers are genuine. Product Review guidelines do not make it mandatory to be verified as demonstrated in their statement: “At the discretion of our Moderation Team, we will ask for a proof of purchase after publishing a review.”
Apollo Blinds was recently advised by NCAT that they were surprised companies did not take legal action against customers who are clearly intent on damaging the reputation of a business. Clearly, no business in this world is perfect especially in a made to measure environment but we do have integrity.
Ok, let me start by saying why is this such an issue. I just put a simple review online of a product that i am extremely happy with and some sniveling tool bag comes on and questions my integrity. His opinion to me rates about as high as his iq of 5 or 6. I am an honest individual with integrity and I do not make comments that aren't warranted. I have no affiliation with Apollo blinds nor have I been offered any intensives for the comments I made. I take offence firstly at having my integrity questioned, secondly having my good intentions discredited and thirdly having to follow on with this crap. As a consequence I will not be doing anymore product reviews no matter how good my experience may be. I request that I no longer be contacted on this matter or any other. The only other thing I wish to say is this. The ACCC! Really? They are as effective at policing consumers rights as a labor government is at reducing the deficit.
