Terrible experience so far
I purchased an oven and rangehood online and when I ordered it the dates were blown out to the end of April for delivery, so I called the customer service number and was told that it was due to the rangehood not being in stock. They said it was arriving the next day or so and advised to call back to arrange a new delivery date once it becomes in stock. So I called the next day and spoke to a person who said that both were in stock and could be delivered next day. She told me I would get a text to advise of the two hour window. So I waited aroun...
Read mored in morning and heard nothing, so I called again to find out when it was arriving. (in meantime we have pulled out our current oven and rangehood). She then told me there was no record of my phone conversation and no booked time for delivery. I was quite annoyed by this but she gave me her direct line and name and booked the order in for the 6th April. So we wait around on the 6th April and the delivery guy arrived with just the oven but no rangehood. He didn't have the rangehood on his order sheet. So I called and spoke to customer service and they said that the rangehood was rescheduled to the 14th April (without my knowledge). I asked why and she just advised that they just rescheduled it. They had no intention on letting me know this. So now I have to wait around for another whole day for the rangehood to arrive. Terrible customer service, from my experience they do not advise customers when they change delivery dates, I have lost trust now.2 comments

Withholding of a refund.
I returned a defective clothes dryerand asked for a refund to which I am entitled to by state law. The telephone consultants were very happy to help and contact the accounts department asking for the refund. But after 9 days of multiple calls and emails I have yet to receive the payment back. They have no right legally to keep it.
I shall look for a deal elsewhere next time I need an appliance after this experience.

All good until something goes wrong
I've used AO numerous times and during those times nothing went wrong. 100% recommendation from me, until now. On the last order something did go amiss and I required service. That's when AO exposed itself to be the same as traditional retailers. When AO first started, they were considered unparalleled for price and service. But that is no more. Prices are now often higher than traditional retailers and who wants to waste time haggling for no gain? Many products are now out of stock - at least they altered the settings so you can't order those ...

They are the best if everything goes smoothly. But today appliances aren't made like they used to be, often faulty out of the box or break down before or just after warranty, so it is a risk. Customer service support subpar. Delivery service very good.
Had several issues with an order and everyone I spoke had no clue of. Eventually got rectified but took forever. Great delivery service though with prompt communication.
Eventually worked out okay
I have used Appliances Online for two separate orders: 1. A fridge & 2. Multiple small items + washing machine.
I selected the additional $75 fee for "premium delivery" which allows customers to select a two hour window for the delivery. I called the day before the delivery to confirm it is indeed arriving in the two hour window I paid for, which I was assured would happen. On the day, I got the text around 0930 from the delivery team stating they would be delivering at 4-6pm (I paid for 8-10am). Very disappointing. I called the customer servi...

A week or so after the rescheduled delivery I heard nothing and had received no refund so I had to call again and eventually got my refund a couple days later. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I made a 2and order of multiple small items and one washing machine. No premium delivery this time. Once the team unpacked the machine and were ready to install it up in my apartment, they noticed it was physically broken. They said they would have to deliver a new one on a different day. This is a huge pain for a single person living an an apartment because the lift/loading bay needs to be booked with management every time and can only be booked on workdays, so I am either taking time off work or using annual leave to meet these deliveries, so what should have just been two days off work ended up being four.. Ultimately I now have everything I purchased imperfect working condition and the staff I dealt with were all quite pleasant and understanding but the some of their background processes could use some work.George88Greater Melbourne (Metropolitan), VIC

Very disappointing installation service of front loader washing machine
We bought a front load washing machine at a good price. The online purchase was very easy and the free delivery was excellent and fast, even had next day delivery available when I ordered Sunday night. However the free installation was very disappointing, the guys were in a hurry just shoved the washing machine under the bench and plugged the power in and connected the water inlet hose but did NOT connect the water outlet because they supposedly didn't have a drill for the new S-bend. Also they didn't bother to level the washing machine so it is sitting on an angle in the cupboard space. Basic installation requirements I would have thought. Pity any customers without tools expecting an actual installation.

Love my new toaster and kettle
Ordered Tuesday evening, delivered Wednesday lunch time. Fab.
Unfortunately the delivery guy stunk of smoke and so did the boxes. I couldn’t get them unpacked and out of my house quick enough. Disgusting

Delivery and install the next day hasn't worked since.
Ordered a Washing Machine for my Father. Delivered and installs next morning. Old machine taken away included with free delivery. Saved me the run around and a trip to Bribie Island and a trip to the Dump.

On the whole fairly Happy
Fast delivery in perfect condition. However the warranty that came with the Air Con was only 2 years but is advertised on the AOL website as 5 years. This is a major false claim and would have influenced our original choice. My requests for an explanation were ignored.

OK when things are straightforward, but ...
Just bought two appliances from AOL. I was very happy with the prices and the initial sales process - extremely smooth and helpful. Then the fun began. The appliances were supposed to arrive on the same day. I received texts and emails confirming. First appliance arrived, but the second (a fridge) was a mysterious no-show. I phoned and people said they would look into it but they didn't get back. Then, a couple of days later, I received a phone call out of the blue from the delivery truck driver that he was on his way. But I was hours away from the delivery address at that time and there had been no prior text or email alerting me that he was coming. Fortunately we worked it out together but it shouldn't be up to the delivery guy to sort out the comms issues from the head office. So, not a great experience at all I'm afraid but at least we managed to muddle through to a resolution. I'm very happy with the products and all is ok in the end despite all the inconvenience. And thanks very much to the driver Jeff for his fantastic customer service and flexibility to sort things out. He realised I'd been messed around and found a solution. Don't Fulfil Price Match Promise
I bought a Bosch oven and wanted Appliances Online to price match the Good Guys. They didn't, so, I bought from the Good Guys, and even with delivery cost, the Goodguys was cheaper.
Not the greatest washing machine I have owned
Went for a Bosh as reviews seemed ok but does not dry jeans and items like this need to run a second spin cycle to get dry. Spec said machine is a 8 Kg but I find it smaller than my last machine that was only a 7.5 Kg.

Defective treadmill
I have purchased several items from this company in one purchase, and I got freezer immediately, the fridge and treadmill were on back order.. After the due date for the fridge was due, they then told me it would be on back order for longer, so i purchased a larger more expensive fridge they had on hand.. Admittedly the fridge and freezer are both excellent and we are very happy. The treadmill was ok for the first day, and the second day the head display stopped working. I contacted the company and they told me a tech would call in 5 to 7 days....

This company does sell good quality products, but they dont seem to want to help you when something goes wrong... Once they have taken your pyment. I realise how busy they are during these times, but it has been well over a month since i sent the first email and still have heard nothing from them. They cant tell me they are that busy they couldnt at least reply to an email... Would I use them again? advertise great price with delivery in 7 days then once order placed delivery is 3 months - bai advertising
The savings was $245.00 - delivery was advised 7 days, then an hour late we receive an email saying deliver sometime in Sept this year. Was working on EOFY buy which this has wrecked that decision.
Offer credit but still leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I run online product business and it is not hard to advise before ordering that a product is out of stock

Company’s order process is terrible
Problem 1) website allowed us to purchase a product that was actually discontinued.
Problem 2) no one informed us of this discont product until I rang wanting to know where our products were on expected delivery date
Problem 3) products weren’t delivered on expected delivery date
Problem 4) nothing was actually happening about our products until I rang on expected delivery date

Customer service is an issue
Product and price are good, easy to browse online, no delivery charge. But difficult to get hold on a real person to track down the delivery. Not always having someone to answer the phone, not always having someone in online chatting.

Finally a refund
2 months since I ordered from appliances on line and a few days ago I was told this product was no longer available. I have now been given a refund. They need to inform quicker or just automatically refund. Consumers should not have to try to make contact with was very difficult.

Expensive "free" installation
Until recently I would have rated Appliances Online 5 stars - but that opinion has changed.
The problem is their "free" installation borders on criminal.
Issue 1: Washing Machine installed using the old hose (which burst 3 months later) and the installers had taken all the new hoses with them
Issue 2: When installing the new freezer they broke one of the feet off the bottom. Instead of reporting it they grabbed a bit of wood and pushed it under so we would not notice

Do your own price check before placing an order.
I personally used appliance online several times during the past few years until recently my old dishwasher broke down. So i clicked into my bookmark and searched appliance online, as usual. Until my wife urged me to check on my local white goods store, bing lee, jb hifi etc.
I found, some of the items listed on the website are much pricer. This actually suprised me quite a bit.
The dishwasher we brought is $995, with RRP of about $1400 on official website and priced as over $1600 on appliance online.
They do have a 'best price guarantee', so do your own price check before paying.

I love the super fast delivery and competitive pricing. I am looking to purchase a lounge from the Ostro range, but i cant find a single review any where on the internet or on the AO website. The reviews need to be prominently displayed for each individual product. When buying online I rely heavily on reviews for determining quality and value.

As far as I am aware the products are all new and boxed correctly. Ours was anyway. Hope this helps.
I have purchased 2 products from them and they are all new plus still in original boxes when delivered
We bought a pair of washing machine and dryer. Both were in their original boxes. There were three guys that delivered, unboxed, removed the old washer and put the new one in place. They did adjust the feet of the washer but didn't level the washer very well. So I took out a spirit level and adjustable wrench to finish the job. The boxes came with all the accessories/parts and documents described in the manual. In my case, I also ordered a stacking kit which wasn't available until a couple of weeks later so they gave me the option to split the order and received the washer and dryer first.
