Beware of the free removal offer
Ordering was easy and product came the next day. One trick is the offer of free “removal and disposal” of your old appliance. I was expecting my undermount range hoods to be removed but that didn’t happen. Up to this point I didn’t have a problem with them but I now feel like they mislead on purpose. I believe they should reword their “free removal and disposal “ statement as it appears quite a few customers have fallen for the so-called free offer.
Appliances Online don't adhere to Australian Consumer Law
Just over two years ago, I purchased a Panasonic microwave which worked well until last week when the inverter part died and continued to trip the house electrical fuses. We called Appliances Online only to be told the microwave is out-of-warranty, i.e. the manufacturer's warranty, and to call Panasonic to get the thing repaired at cost to us. They didn't feel the need to adhere the ACCC Australian Consumer guarantee despite claiming on their website "Our goods come with warranties and guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian C...onsumer Law ("Consumer Guarantees"). You are entitled to a replacement or a refund for a major failure". This wasn't a cheap microwave that you'd buy at Aldi. This cost hundreds of dollars and one would reasonably expect it to last more than two-and-a-bit years. I ended up getting it repaired locally as I needed the appliance and didn't want to waste time with Appliances Online any more. The ordering process and delivery is good and easy but don't expect there to be any back-up should things go wrong. What is it with these companies that feel they're exempt from consumer law? I'll look elsewhere to shop next time.
Terrible experience so far
I purchased an oven and rangehood online and when I ordered it the dates were blown out to the end of April for delivery, so I called the customer service number and was told that it was due to the rangehood not being in stock. They said it was arriving the next day or so and advised to call back to arrange a new delivery date once it becomes in stock. So I called the next day and spoke to a person who said that both were in stock and could be delivered next day. She told me I would get a text to advise of the two hour window. So I waited aroun...d in morning and heard nothing, so I called again to find out when it was arriving. (in meantime we have pulled out our current oven and rangehood). She then told me there was no record of my phone conversation and no booked time for delivery. I was quite annoyed by this but she gave me her direct line and name and booked the order in for the 6th April. So we wait around on the 6th April and the delivery guy arrived with just the oven but no rangehood. He didn't have the rangehood on his order sheet. So I called and spoke to customer service and they said that the rangehood was rescheduled to the 14th April (without my knowledge). I asked why and she just advised that they just rescheduled it. They had no intention on letting me know this. So now I have to wait around for another whole day for the rangehood to arrive. Terrible customer service, from my experience they do not advise customers when they change delivery dates, I have lost trust now.
Onlne delivery company forgets to put order on delivery truck !!!!
Placed an order for a washing machine with a next day delivery - was advised just before mid day next day that order has not been put on truck - which is pretty basic function for an online services delivery company to do. Not a pleasant experience at all !!
Withholding of a refund.
I returned a defective clothes dryerand asked for a refund to which I am entitled to by state law. The telephone consultants were very happy to help and contact the accounts department asking for the refund. But after 9 days of multiple calls and emails I have yet to receive the payment back. They have no right legally to keep it.
I shall look for a deal elsewhere next time I need an appliance after this experience.
All good until something goes wrong
I've used AO numerous times and during those times nothing went wrong. 100% recommendation from me, until now. On the last order something did go amiss and I required service. That's when AO exposed itself to be the same as traditional retailers. When AO first started, they were considered unparalleled for price and service. But that is no more. Prices are now often higher than traditional retailers and who wants to waste time haggling for no gain? Many products are now out of stock - at least they altered the settings so you can't order those ...products. But if something goes wrong with your appliance, don't expect them to be any better than others, many of whom don't comply with the ACL. They are the best if everything goes smoothly. But today appliances aren't made like they used to be, often faulty out of the box or break down before or just after warranty, so it is a risk. Edit: something seems suspicious. Just hours after I posted this realistic review, there are even more 5 star reviews that don't provide any detail. Hmmmm ...
Delivery was great and the guys installing/removing old machine were awesome but the machine didn’t even work...... now have to wait for another week for a new machine which is frustrating when you’re a full time worker and only have 1 day off during the week to be home for the delivery
Best Price (Not) Guaranteed
Just contacted appliances online who were $471 vs $329 (Kogan) for a Pioneer Subwoofer S52W. Despite the product proudly showing its "Best Price Guarantee" tag on it's page, Appliances Online refused to honour this when called stating "we don't price match Kogan as they aren't an Australian company. This is strange considering they're listed on the ASX and their founder Ruslan Kogan is Australian. When I said this, they said "Kogan imports their products", which is strange because it's not like Appliances Online's Pioneer S52W sub is made (and ...imported) from the exact same place as Kogans. Looks like their Best Price Guarantee works only when it suits them. Furthermore, they claimed "you'll have issues with warranties when purchasing through Kogan" despite both companies being subject to the same consumer electronics laws. Upsetting as they usually have far superior customer service to Kogan and faster delivery - I was always loyal to them but now feel their guarantee isn't worth the screen it's written on.
Customer service support subpar. Delivery service very good.
Had several issues with an order and everyone I spoke had no clue of. Eventually got rectified but took forever. Great delivery service though with prompt communication.
selling things they don't have ... be careful... delivery delays shocking
Appliances Online is the same company as Winning Appliances.
They seem to have two types of sale. One is where THEY sell it to you direct. Two is where they sell it for another manufacturer who sends it their warehouse then to you, example of this "indirect" AEG or Smeg.
The items i bought as "indirect" ... The AEG cooktop arrived quickly. The Smeg fridge however required constant phone calls... always "just round the corner" and I made MANY long phone calls. It is STILL not here after 7 weeks , even though promised 5 weeks ago, and...I will be making YET ANOTHER phone call on monday. The problems where THEY are doing the whole sale direct are even worse, they simply never deliver at all. My first try with the direct was where I bought a fridge from them in september and it waffled on until January, when they finally siad "no, sorry you're not getting it... we can't get it" . So I made them refund me and bought the Smeg. But the point here was it was 4 months. Then I bought a range hood and oven. "yes, two weeks". "no, now it's 4 weeks". Then it was another month... barely had that month started when they added ANOTHER month!!!!. So now 3 months since the purchase. Again I cancelled and made them refund me, This time I bought elsewhere.
Eventually worked out okay
I have used Appliances Online for two separate orders: 1. A fridge & 2. Multiple small items + washing machine.
I selected the additional $75 fee for "premium delivery" which allows customers to select a two hour window for the delivery. I called the day before the delivery to confirm it is indeed arriving in the two hour window I paid for, which I was assured would happen. On the day, I got the text around 0930 from the delivery team stating they would be delivering at 4-6pm (I paid for 8-10am). Very disappointing. I called the customer servi...ce number and after discussing with their manager they offered a premium delivery on a different day for free and I would receive my $75 back. A week or so after the rescheduled delivery I heard nothing and had received no refund so I had to call again and eventually got my refund a couple days later. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I made a 2and order of multiple small items and one washing machine. No premium delivery this time. Once the team unpacked the machine and were ready to install it up in my apartment, they noticed it was physically broken. They said they would have to deliver a new one on a different day. This is a huge pain for a single person living an an apartment because the lift/loading bay needs to be booked with management every time and can only be booked on workdays, so I am either taking time off work or using annual leave to meet these deliveries, so what should have just been two days off work ended up being four.. Ultimately I now have everything I purchased imperfect working condition and the staff I dealt with were all quite pleasant and understanding but the some of their background processes could use some work.
check your manual
I bought a wine cooler and the delivery man told me the key is inside the cooler, and took the packaging away which actually still had the key and instruction manual inside.
So I called applianceonline and they said to call the wine cooler company directly to get the key and manual. I don't understand why I have to go through this trouble when it was a mistake on applianceinline's part.
Very disappointing installation service of front loader washing machine
We bought a front load washing machine at a good price. The online purchase was very easy and the free delivery was excellent and fast, even had next day delivery available when I ordered Sunday night. However the free installation was very disappointing, the guys were in a hurry just shoved the washing machine under the bench and plugged the power in and connected the water inlet hose but did NOT connect the water outlet because they supposedly didn't have a drill for the new S-bend. Also they didn't bother to level the washing machine so it is sitting on an angle in the cupboard space. Basic installation requirements I would have thought. Pity any customers without tools expecting an actual installation.
Air-conditioner comes without energy rating sticker on front flap
Bought a Fujitsu Air Con (7.1KW) and it strangely did not have the energy rating sticker that's on the front.
Love my new toaster and kettle
Ordered Tuesday evening, delivered Wednesday lunch time. Fab.
Unfortunately the delivery guy stunk of smoke and so did the boxes. I couldn’t get them unpacked and out of my house quick enough. Disgusting
Delivery and install the next day hasn't worked since.
Ordered a Washing Machine for my Father. Delivered and installs next morning. Old machine taken away included with free delivery. Saved me the run around and a trip to Bribie Island and a trip to the Dump.
Machine hasn't worked since, over the period since 18/11/2020 to 11/12/2020 I have made 4 representations to arrange for my Father's Washing machine to be attended to. My Father is 87 years and he says he's paid to look after a metal cabinet.
Today I asked to speak to the supervisor or Manager and went to hold music then was told I was being...
Buying and delivery fantastic, installation option advertised on website refused by installer
I bought a split system airconditioner recently - great value and the delivery was quick and very easy to arrange. However, the option of getting installation arranged through 1stCare which is advertised on the website is very disappointing. I couldn't even get a quote because when I rang they said they don't do installations where a body corporate is involved. This should be stated upfront in the terms and conditions. Now I have to shop around for an installer and would possibly have been better off getting a package deal for purchase and installation elsewhere. Not happy.
Washing Machine order
I have had to change an ordered washing machine to a different model due to new space requirements. Appliances Online still came with the old ordered washing machine so I had to wait another day which also required me to take another day off work.
When the right washer arrived, the guys could not connect the washer and said there is something wrong with my taps and I need a plumber and just left. But in reality they were just lazy as I could connect the washing machine myself- without any need of a plumber. Not a great service!
could not recommend
freezes up very quickly and the top and bottom shelves are very hard to pull down and push back in
On the whole fairly Happy
Fast delivery in perfect condition. However the warranty that came with the Air Con was only 2 years but is advertised on the AOL website as 5 years. This is a major false claim and would have influenced our original choice. My requests for an explanation were ignored.
Questions & Answers
I love the super fast delivery and competitive pricing. I am looking to purchase a lounge from the Ostro range, but i cant find a single review any where on the internet or on the AO website. The reviews need to be prominently displayed for each individual product. When buying online I rely heavily on reviews for determining quality and value.
I don’t understand as your post is clearly not a question. Are you complaining that it is the fault of reviewers not reviewing ? ‘Please explain’.
Are all the products you sell on your online platform, 1st grade quality, sealed in their original boxes ?
As far as I am aware the products are all new and boxed correctly. Ours was anyway. Hope this helps.
I have purchased 2 products from them and they are all new plus still in original boxes when delivered
We bought a pair of washing machine and dryer. Both were in their original boxes. There were three guys that delivered, unboxed, removed the old washer and put the new one in place. They did adjust the feet of the washer but didn't level the washer very well. So I took out a spirit level and adjustable wrench to finish the job. The boxes came with all the accessories/parts and documents described in the manual. In my case, I also ordered a stacking kit which wasn't available until a couple of weeks later so they gave me the option to split the order and received the washer and dryer first.
what is a great spin bike fro home that is solid and reasonably priced
Do your own research, I did and I am extremely happy with what I bought from AO! If you don't know what you want, go visit a B&M
