I started my baby on this formula after having issue breast feeding. My doctor recommended it after she used it with her children. I now Comp feed and my baby adjusted to this formula easily without any constipation or other issues. He is now gaining weight at the expected rate and is a happy baby.
Perfect for baby with constipation!!
Our feeding dramas were solved with Aptamil profutura after having tried 4 different formulas! Up until 2 weeks we were breastfeeding and having to top up with the hospital recommended NAN optipro gold HA until the breeding stopped and he was formula fed exclusively. By day 3 he was so badly constipated we had to give him a supppository. We then tried the NAN comfort as we were told it would be more gentle however this only caused him to throw up and still hadn't relieved the constipation issue. Finally we were recommended to give Karicare a go...and were ecstatic to see that he loved it and was able to open his bowels without any issues. After 2 weeks of the Karicare he agaun became constipated to the point where he would wake up mid sleep to scream and cry and was turning purple trying to push pebble sized poos. By this time we had given up hope of finding a formula to suit and thought he had some sort of allergy. After a midnight run to the chemist and not wanting to give him another supppsitory we were recommended to try Novalac Constipation formula that worked! He loved it and was having a dirty nappy daily until it was happening too frequently and the formula wasn't keeping him full as he was needing to feed every 2 hours. Thank God for our maternal health nurse who had compared the contents of Novalac to other formulas available and found the Aptamil Profutura had the same level of protein making it an easy changeover and easy for him to pass poo. 2 tins in and out 5 week old is thriving on Aptamil Profutura! I cannot recommend it enough considering the drama we had with formulas in such a short period of time. Regular dirty nappies and no more restless sleeps or crying of wind pain. Thank you Nutricia!

Great formula for my baby
This is a great formula for my younger kid. She loves it. It is very easy to prepare, just like the A2. Two spoons of milker powder, fill in the water and shake it. That is it. My child loves the taste, perhaps because it is sweeter than the A2? Because I bought this formula, I read other reviews and was worried about the side effects. But unluckily, they did not happen to my girl. No reflux, no flare up.
Make my twins have bad reflux but not constipated
A few key points to this formula
1. This formula is easy to prepare like any other, except contain a lot of bubbles after preparing. I’m not sure whether it is the bubbles that makes my twins (2 months) have reflux even after 2 hours after feeding. On one occasion one of them had reflux straight after feeding, all out through his mouth and nose and was struggling to breath. I panic a little but after all the formula came out. Her looked fine..
2. The babies used to be constipated for days before pooping on other formula. But now they are pooing easily but their poop are now runny. Is that how they’re suppose to be?
3. Have to buy 2-3 cans when I can get my hands on them as they are always run out from pharmacy/Coles or Safeway.
Not for my Bub
Really disappointed this didn’t work for my little girl as I did so much research before choosing one (as I didn’t want to swap and change!).
Turns out she had really explosive poop and seemed to struggle when she did it - also the poop stained her clothes - I’m pretty sure this is due to the fish oil concentration rather than any issues with the formula itself.
I love that it includes probiotics and additional vitamins but just too harsh for her little tummy I think.
I also tried karicare made by the same company but she had a bit of ref...
great for my grandchild
Started using this formula for our grandchild, when my daughter was still mix feeding (breast and formula). My grandchild took it without any issues. Eventually switched to formula only, and had no issues at all. Easy to prepare too. Very happy and have already switched to the stage 2 formula (6 months+

Excellent product - only 4 stars due to Nutricias poor marketing and communication
My first son performed really well on Nutricia Karicare goat formula. After some years we put him on to the Karicare gold - after his gut matured it was our goto and is to this very day.
In hospital they had Aptimal Gold + for our second. He responded well to that. I would have gone with their karicare product but didn't want to accidentally put my oldest son's stage 4 formula into a new born bottle. We do crazy stuff when sleep deprived. So we went with aptimal because packaging is different and your less likely to make a mistake.
I got ...the more expensive Aptimal Profutura. Its been perfect! Unfortunately Nutricia are useless. They have not responded to my email which basically asked to questions - * What is the difference between Aptimal Gold+ and Profutura? * And is it the same product as karicare in a different container?

My daughter loves it.She is happliy having it all the time.
It is easy to prepare in the bottle and gentel for the little one' tummy.
Trust its high quality and packed with all good nutrition which baby needs.I havenot seen any bad effects to my kids. Love it as a new mum.
Good but hard to buy
This formula is also easy to prepare but only one thing needs to be careful when mixed with water dont shake it strongly you must make too much bubble in the bottle which is not good for baby digestion. In general this formula is really good. Just hope i can buy it more easily as long as we need it
It is a bit on the pricier side of baby formula on the market but it is worth the price! It is easy to mix but has quite a bit of foam but it doesn't make my baby gassy. Started with s26 Gold and it made my daughter constipated but switching to this formula has made such a difference! Although the only downside to this formula, it can be hard to find in supermarkets because it is always sold out but you can always buy it online
Baby was on a goats milk formula after cutting down breast feeding and was so constipated she would scream when she was pooing and would squirm all night like she had a pain in the belly. it was horrible. I changed to aptamil profutura and the immediate difference was amazing. she drinks whole bottles now and her poos are normal again. no more upset baby, makes this mummy happy to see. only complaint is it bubbles up a lot when mixing but some bubbles are little to worry about when it works for bubs.
I like the product
It works very well with my kids. They have it from one month old . It is very easy to prepare. Babies seem to enjoy it. No side effects from it. It is a very well know brand and all my doctors recommend it. I sometimes just use cold books water . It is still very easy to prepare.
This is the first formula we have tried and loved it. My baby seems to love it too and i did not really notice any negative side effects. the only thing i can mention is its availability. Many times we have to go to different locations to buy Aptamil. It is easy to prepare and easy to store. This product is a bit expensive but i guess its worth it. My baby never had any stomach/wind/gas/constipation issue with it and she is using from 1 month and now she is 18 month.

My baby is like me and like most things, including this formula. Easy to prepare and gives me a piece of mind that my baby is getting everything they need. In saying that, I still give them other brands to mix it up, after all, I don't want to eat lettuce everyday, I want to eat bok choi and cabbage too!

My first choice
It is easy to prepare with warm water. It is always my first choice. My baby loves it. I used to buy A2 formula but it is too difficult to buy in the supermarket now. So I buy Aptamil now. I also recommend it to my friends in China, their babies also like it. I always post some to them.

Questions & Answers
My bub is almost 6 month old and has no issues on aptamil profutura 1 ..... do I have to change to #2?
I don't know if it is essential, but I guess formula in different stages provide different nutrition, even different amount for the same nutrition. I always change to another stage. I hope it helps.
Nutricia Careline T.Aptamil
Hi Rebekka, thank you for your enquiry. Some people choose to leave their babies on the stage 1 until they are 12 months, some choose to just wait until their babies are established on solids over 6 months and some change to the next stage at the corrected age of the baby. All this is perfectly fine, the stage 1 is fine to use til the 12 months. If you would like more information please call us on 1800 060 057.
Hi! I used to use aptamil gold + and have recently started to try aptamil profutura and was wondering why the water amounts are different. At 4 months the gold + says to give 5 scoops for 250ml whereas the profutura says to give a 4 month old 3 scoops at 150ml. Why is the amount less? Is this enough for her after he has been drinking 250ml?
