ARB Glass Rear Window Explosion
Rear ARB window exploded sitting in the driveway this afternoon! Looks like a common problem with ARB glass. $370 to replace. Any idea of an alternative? I’d give them a zero star rating if possible! Dangerous and no trust with the product now.
ARB glass explosion!!
Another Victim of ARB glass explosion!! Closing the back window down getting half way and exploded in my hands on side of busy road!! Bearing in mind it's not that old in our Amarok 17 series!! Cuts on hands, legs and arms!! Obviously it's something ARB need to look into as this is a hazard and needs to be reviewed!
Ask for your parts they remove off your vehicle
I have an ARB bull bar and it is designed so that there are two panel on the bull bar that are removed if you have a winch fitted. I took my car in to have this done and requested that the two panels removed were left in my vehicle. When I went to pick up the vehicle these two large panels were not in my vehicle. I went immediately back into the store and requested them and I had the impression they did not want to give them back even though they were mine. The salesman asked someone else to go and get them and when he asked where they were h...e was told they were in the spare parts store room. Reluctantly he went and got them for me. These parts would have to be worth a couple of hundred dollars especially if someone is looking for the same color. My advice to all is that if you have parts removed from your vehicle then make sure you get them back. You never know if you will need them. If I were to ever remove the winch then I would need these parts. Don't let them steal what belongs to you.
Arb wheel arch flares, mudflaps not moved out to match flares would gladly have paid $100 more for them to do it while they had the wheels off.
Wheel nuts both rear were tensioned about right, both front were so tight I had to use 1metre of pipe on wrench to loosen them.
Tomorrow never came
Got dusted by ARB in Osborne park in 2014
Tried again to get a quote in 2021- No response
Get back to you tomorrow but tomorrow never came. My fault I didn’t confirm which tomorrow
Safari Armax ECU sold and pushed by ARB
Safari ECU Looming to injectors failed while towing caravan. Better products available on market than this. Do your homework first.
Exploding glass club
Rear canopy glass went with no explanation. I guess I’ll be having to fork out big money to get it replaced.
Cannot believe the 5yr old left side canopy window exploded
After reading reviews and my local FB page notified me that my ARB Ascent left side window self exploded and apparently known to happen! I had NO idea.
I bought my BT50 new 5 years ago, left side canopy window exploded everywhere in my driveway. Was told I'd have to wait 6 weeks for a replacement and now discovered that half the roof has sunken in! So it looks like a new canopy not just window replacement. And going to cost me my excess. So not happy!
Has anyone else found that when their ARB Ascent canopy window self-exploded the canopy roof also got sucked in?
Exploding rear canopy glass club
2015 Dmax with accent canopy
Went to open the rear canopy today the same way i always do , its 5 years old , when it exploded with bits landing up to 4mtrs away . I rang ARB and the salesman didnt seem to interested and said it happens sometimes and maybe i opened it crooked or something , it was then i told him that while the glass was still on the ground it was still popping and breaking into smaller bits and no it wasnt my fault .
got no joy from them and a new rear window $612 .
Wont be recommending ARB canopies ever again and now regret past recommendations to friends
Another member of the ARB exploding window club
What can you say, 2 side lifting windows within 10 weeks at of a cost of over $1000 not much.
It is quite disappointing to receive the same response as most in this post, unacceptable in my regards.
Have had a gut full of these large corporations worrying more about their stock holders and returns than the customer off the street who pays good money for what I now consider a poorly produced product.
Did ask the question about how hard the window has been to close, using the struts provided.
Response " That's the struts they come with ".
Zero customer service.
I Ordered a canopy on the 2nd December and bull bar and was told I would be contacted for a date to fit the products to my Hilux. Nobody contacted me. I went through the store to see the progress of my order early January and yes the order was in the system but no date was set to fit the products. Early February was my date to get everything fitted. I Took my car on the 3rd of February and the bull bar was not painted as ordered so could not be fitted. I was given another new date of March to have the bull bar fitted and told the sales consulta...nt this was not acceptable and he could not care a less and said he’d get back to me. He got back to me early March and said the bull bar is ready to be fitted. Other than the original sales guy all others where rude and know nothing about customer service. ARB has a great marketing tactic but zero customer service skills. I’m hearing this from many people. Wake up ARB
Another Classic Canopy glass explosion!
Was in our caravan this morning and heard a big bang. Went out to the car and the drivers side canopy glass has exploded. Rang ARB local store and they said it's not a common thing! Wow they've got that answer down pat now! $430 to fix. You would think after that many similar complaints on here and other forums you they might admit fault! Not looking after the shareholders ARB!!!
Exploding rear glass on classic canopy . how embarrassing.
Was at the service station when after putting something in the canopy fridge, the glass shattered in my hands half way down to close.
I couldn’t believe it. Glass everywhere with multiple cuts on hands and feet from when it fell. The sound was crazy loud and alerted a motor home couple on the next bowser who checked if i was ok. This issue really needs to be fixed by arb as it seems to be a common issue and is very dangerous. This was not an impact caused issue and nothing else was in tray. Not looking forward to sorting out replacement. Considering removing and replacing with hard top cover.
Ordered a canopy. Waited over a month. Finally got my car in for fitting christmas eve and received a call 1 hour later saying they got the wrong canopy for my car. Another 4 week wait to get another. I have planned an Australia tour at the end of January and needed the canopy. Now I'm stuck with no canopy, have to cancel all bookings for drawer installs and auto electrician, as I have already rented my house out and can't leave without the canopy im now left homeless if I can't find another company who can do it before. Very very unacceptable service. Now I hear about the glass breaking on these canopies and there is even a broken glass club maybe its for the best. ARB have lost me. I won't be back. SCREWED ME OVER BAD.
Ascent canopy glass window
I have owned the ascent canopy from new on my 2015 Ranger wildtrack, I find having the extra space in the back is fantastic for camping but last week the side window exploded for no apparent reason, I had parked in a car park with the canopy air vent open and on my return the back window had exploded it was witnessed by a elderly couple sitting on their verandah having a drink no more than 100 yards away, they said no one was around and they literally saw it explode, has anyone had any luck with an explanation fro. ARB as my local sore said that that's un heard off and unfortunately it's going to cost $410 to fix it? Cheers
