Safari Armax ECU sold and pushed by ARB
Safari ECU Looming to injectors failed while towing caravan. Better products available on market than this. Do your homework first.
Exploding glass club
Rear canopy glass went with no explanation. I guess I’ll be having to fork out big money to get it replaced.
Cannot believe the 5yr old left side canopy window exploded
After reading reviews and my local FB page notified me that my ARB Ascent left side window self exploded and apparently known to happen! I had NO idea.
I bought my BT50 new 5 years ago, left side canopy window exploded everywhere in my driveway. Was told I'd have to wait 6 weeks for a replacement and now discovered that half the roof has sunken in! So it looks like a new canopy not just window replacement. And going to cost me my excess. So not happy!
Has anyone else found that when their ARB Ascent canopy window self-exploded the canopy roof also got sucked in?
Exploding rear canopy glass club
2015 Dmax with accent canopy
Went to open the rear canopy today the same way i always do , its 5 years old , when it exploded with bits landing up to 4mtrs away . I rang ARB and the salesman didnt seem to interested and said it happens sometimes and maybe i opened it crooked or something , it was then i told him that while the glass was still on the ground it was still popping and breaking into smaller bits and no it wasnt my fault .
got no joy from them and a new rear window $612 .
Wont be recommending ARB canopies ever again and now regret past recommendations to friends

What can you say, 2 side lifting windows within 10 weeks at of a cost of over $1000 not much.
It is quite disappointing to receive the same response as most in this post, unacceptable in my regards.
Have had a gut full of these large corporations worrying more about their stock holders and returns than the customer off the street who pays good money for what I now consider a poorly produced product.
Did ask the question about how hard the window has been to close, using the struts provided.
Response " That's the struts they come with ".
Zero customer service.
I Ordered a canopy on the 2nd December and bull bar and was told I would be contacted for a date to fit the products to my Hilux. Nobody contacted me. I went through the store to see the progress of my order early January and yes the order was in the system but no date was set to fit the products. Early February was my date to get everything fitted. I Took my car on the 3rd of February and the bull bar was not painted as ordered so could not be fitted. I was given another new date of March to have the bull bar fitted and told the sales consulta...nt this was not acceptable and he could not care a less and said he’d get back to me. He got back to me early March and said the bull bar is ready to be fitted. Other than the original sales guy all others where rude and know nothing about customer service. ARB has a great marketing tactic but zero customer service skills. I’m hearing this from many people. Wake up ARB
Another Classic Canopy glass explosion!
Was in our caravan this morning and heard a big bang. Went out to the car and the drivers side canopy glass has exploded. Rang ARB local store and they said it's not a common thing! Wow they've got that answer down pat now! $430 to fix. You would think after that many similar complaints on here and other forums you they might admit fault! Not looking after the shareholders ARB!!!
Exploding rear glass on classic canopy . how embarrassing.
Was at the service station when after putting something in the canopy fridge, the glass shattered in my hands half way down to close.
I couldn’t believe it. Glass everywhere with multiple cuts on hands and feet from when it fell. The sound was crazy loud and alerted a motor home couple on the next bowser who checked if i was ok. This issue really needs to be fixed by arb as it seems to be a common issue and is very dangerous. This was not an impact caused issue and nothing else was in tray. Not looking forward to sorting out replacement. Considering removing and replacing with hard top cover.
Ordered a canopy. Waited over a month. Finally got my car in for fitting christmas eve and received a call 1 hour later saying they got the wrong canopy for my car. Another 4 week wait to get another. I have planned an Australia tour at the end of January and needed the canopy. Now I'm stuck with no canopy, have to cancel all bookings for drawer installs and auto electrician, as I have already rented my house out and can't leave without the canopy im now left homeless if I can't find another company who can do it before. Very very unacceptable service. Now I hear about the glass breaking on these canopies and there is even a broken glass club maybe its for the best. ARB have lost me. I won't be back. SCREWED ME OVER BAD.
Exploding Glass Club, Thanks ARB for the condescending comments
Once again another exploding glass for no reason on the back glass of the ARB assent canopy (not even two years). just can’t believe there is a club! Rang ARB main office and when I told him about this, he replied that the glass doesn't just explose, as its " safety"!!!!, something must have hit it.... I didn't want to insult my intelligence anymore with the sales pitch of how great ARB products are and that what I'm claiming is not true, but admitted it happened in the past models, not mine ... this guy needs to google ARB exploding glass !...!!!. BTW all I was asking for a non glass replacement, which he claimed was "illegal" wow....he was very disinterested, Customer service crap!!! The Glass is cheap Chinese product that they want $660 for the glass only , plus labour. Dont buy ARB canopy.
Hi. I went to arb 4 a winch fitting. Appointment was for 12.30. Two oclock they saw to the fitting. Over the next halfhour I developed food poisoning and became very ill (dodgy piece of fish). I spent some time vomiting in the shrubs. A kind gent brought me some water (employee). My guts were in turmoil so I went to ask 4 a toilet. Not 4 public I was told. Go down to the servo. But I cant make it. Go to the waiting room, was suggested. I did and same gent came and told me his boss said I could use their toilet. Ok. I finished and went back to w...aiting room. I was still vomiting. A kind girl got me a bucket and with mask on proceeded to sterilize the area I was still resting in (with mask and covid awareness,i was still in the room, vomiting in my presented bucket. In a bit, an upstart came and told me that it was not a good look on the showroom floor (I was in the waiting room still AND DEMANDED I vacate the premises and take my bucket with me. I left and sat on cold concrete outside untill my car was ready. That is the service of HOBART ARB. Not at all acceptable.
ARB exploding glass
Guess I'm the latest victim.
Went to open my ARB canopy rear window today and it just exploded in my hand. Luckily no major injuries from it. No impacts to the glass or any reason for it to explode.
Sounds like a common fault?
Exploding Ascent Canopy side widow.
Ford Ranger 2014 parked in driveway when for no reason the ARB Ascent Canopy side window exploded. With a bit of research it appears to be a very common problem. Arb advised they were unaware of any issues. 4 weeks to get a new one which is a pain in the A.
Exploding canopy glass.
I guess I am now in the ARB canopy glass exploding club. Just last week, while hooking up the trailer, the rear glass exploded for no apparent reason. The rear glass was open at the time. While I suffered some minor nicks and cuts to my right arm, I am on blood thinners, luckily nothing major.
Does ARB know how dangerous this or don't they care ?
I would rate 0 stars if I could
I wanted to give some feedback regarding our recent experience at ARB Elizabeth.
After a lot of consideration, we decided to invest in a bulbar and winch for our Land Rover Discovery. My husband went to the store to enquire about this, and was served by the rudest most unhelpful man (he didn’t get his name). My husband didn’t know exactly which winch he wanted , and asked advice, only to be belittled, presumably because he didn’t have the knowledge of the sales person. I thought the role of the sales person was to offer advice and make reco...mmendations. When my husband dropped the car in for the fitting, he said “I’m dropping my car off for a bulbar and winch”, to which the salesperson said “Oh, we’re doing a winch too, are we?”, as if it was a huge inconvenience to do this ‘extra’. That was my husband booked in the first place, so why didn’t they know they were fitting a winch??? And if he didn’t clarify, I assume it wouldn’t have been done. When my husband piked the car up, [name removed] did the handover. After my husband paid, [name removed] said to him “I’m not going to bamboozle you with information, the instruction book is in the car”. This is absolutely disgraceful customer service. We had just spent $4200, and he was not even willing to spend 10 minutes to go through the basic operation and safety instructions for the winch. When he returned home, my husband invited a friend (who thankfully has a winch on his car, and had some knowledge) to come and have a look. One of the first things he asked was “Has the rope been tensioned”. We have since found out this is quite important to do with a new winch. Nothing was mentioned about this on handover.
