Often no Stock
I called ARB Hobart a few times lately looking to buy 4wd gear but each time they had no stock. I wanted a diff lock costing 1300 dollars but was told they'd been wiped out of stock and it would take 6 weeks to get one from Melbourne. Same for a tyre pump up kit and some other goods we wanted.
Sadly I bought these and more goods cheaper on line from Vic and they arrived in 2 days.
My family of 5 4wd nuts now prefers to shop on line given our recent dissapointments with ARB Hobart.
Come in...as a premier ARB outlet..it must be possible to get ARB stock. Other non-ARB outlets clearly can and will deliver in days...not weeks.
Such a sad outcome for a local business.
Refused LR tank install without $4k of Old Man Emu kit.
I have a 2021 Jimny bog stock and wanted to upgrade my 40L fuel tank to 80L. They refused to do it unless I spend an extra few thousand on off road suspension all round.
I don't go serious offroading. I want a LR just for more range. The design of the tank is no lower on the frame than the OEM tank. I refuse to believe adding the weight of a small child in the back requires new suspension. They are just upselling and pressuring people into getting products they don't really need.
Left my Navara in worse state before it entered shop
ARB may be good at doing up bolts on suspension but when it comes to the rest of the vehicle, forget it!
After having my suspension completely changed over to Old Man Emu the following problems came up:
1. Wheel alignment was way off and steering wheel was way off centre
2. VDS and anti slip lights came on
Took it back to ARB two more times for them to attempt the wheel alignment and erase VDS codes. Still failed the wheel alignment and steering wheel position. Then continued to tell me it was a sensor issue and i had to take it to NIssan (the...y put it in the too hard basket in my opinion). Took Navara to Bridgestone who fixed the wheel alignment properly and reset the steering wheel position and codes. Am happy with the driving feel now and no longer fighting the steering constantly. If you are looking at getting suspension done and want the brand ARB offer, I suggest buying the parts from them and taking it to a business that knows more than just being able to tighten a few bolts up.
Wow can’t believe there is a club! Went to lunch on the weekend and was only away from my ranger for an hour, on returning my drivers side window on my canopy was shattered. Cafe had cameras and there was no one near the car while we were away! Rang ARB Albury and a very disinterested lady told me to bring the car in to get measured for a replacement! Customer service NIL!!!
ARB ascent canopy
I have had an ARB ascent canopy on my ford ranger since new, it looks great, easy to use with central locking and just having to press a single button to release the side windows or back window is extremely easy. The only downside I’ve experienced is leaking through the back window seal (the seal that is actually under the aluminum window frame) it has started to perish and I imagine changing it would be more hassle than it’s worth, so I will probably sikaflex around the frame, inside and out.
Happy with the product overall, I will get a full aluminum canopy on my next vehicle, however if you’re in the market for a tub canopy, I think these are the pick of the bunch
Not open on time had to wait.Job card wasnt ready so i assume i wasnt expected that day (they forgot i reckon)Was told i would get a call when car was ready dropped of at 8am for a set of rear springs (2 hours work at best) i rang at 4.30pm because they close at 5pm.Car was ready when i got there all day to fit a set of rear coil springs not good service i cant believe you need the vehicle all day for a two hour job.I was asked to give feed back via the handout they gave me but wouldnt work on the Web site (weird)Staff were friendly enough just a bit disorganised.
ARB canopy leaking
I purchased a classic plus canopy for a new Amarok in Feb 2018 and had ARB fit it. Within a month I had a rear strut replaced and over time I noticed a leak coming in from somewhere at the front nearside. I returned it to be serviced and ARB had the car all day. I was assured the problem was fixed. Sure enough next rain the same leak occurred. Again ARB took the car for the day and assured me again it was fixed. Again next rain same leak. After this ARB to their credit replaced the canopy with the top of the line Ascent canopy and I was assured...it could not leak as the canopy hangs over the tray. Sure enough first rain the same leak. When I rang ARB I was told it wasn't possible it couldn't be leaking. After assuring the rep it was I was then told it must be a fault with the utes tray. The ute is new, its done no four wheel driving or towing and hasn't been involved in any accidents. Further if there was an imperfection ARB had the canopy off three times and didn't notice a fault with the tray. Once again after having enough of wet stuff in the back of my car three months ago (4/2019) I booked it in again to be fixed and was told they didnt think they could fix it. The following week I cancelled the service as I saw no point in not having my car for the day for no result. So now I have a $4500 (fitted) canopy that leaks and fogs up so I cant see out the back. I've attached a short video showing the leak . The car was stationary, on a flat driveway and hadn't been driven. The rain was light. My advice would be there isn't much use paying top dollar for ARB canopies.
Not Just ARB, it's the Manufactures Errors
Same Glass in my Canopy from ISUZU, ARB have been good with most of their products. Back canopy window just exploded for no reason. So defiantly a problem with the manufacturing of the Glass. New Car 4yrs ago, 4hrs to clean.
ARB Tyre deflator Made in China !
I was led to believe I was buying an Aussie made product, even the salesman wasn't clear with me when I asked where was it made ? wasn't until i opened it up to find in the instructions it read: "tested and assembled in China using components manufactured in China for ARB" What a shame ! so disappointing..

Can anyone detail how to remove the lock tab from the lock body on an ARB 2018 Classic canopy. By the diagrams it separates after removing the screw but mine seems to be locked solid. Glued?? Thanks
Hi, I have an ARB Ascent Canopy with a roof tent mounted on too of a Ford Ranger. The tent is heavy, 100kg. On dirt roads I have blown two rear windows. Is there an alternative to the rear glass? Aluminium or perspex.
