Very Bad Sales Tactics - Asked the car for 500$
We had to sell our Hyundai Getz 2010 1.6 Litre engine 96K odometer. They quoted 2000 to 3000 in phone but after seeing the car they asked for 500$. It was so embarrassing with the quoted price the car was roadworthy , running in road , recent tyres , battery - less than 4K kilometres on the new tyres. On the top with 8 Month Rego left where i will get half of the quoted money back if I cancel the rego.
The tech guy was showing his car and told that he got it for free and he is doing us a favour by offering 500$ and literally was standing In our door step for us to say Yes for his 500$ offer.
I politely denied the offer and advised him I am not willing to discuss on this anymore.
Didn’t honour contract
Had made a deal and signed a contract to say they were to buy my car for $8000. A few days later they called to say that the car wasn’t the model they thought it was and I could either accept $5000-6000 or cancel the deal. In the meantime, I had declined other offers to buy the car as I was honouring the contract I had signed. Very disappointed with them.
Really bad was terriable
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!!
I had contacted them as I was selling my car and I was told they would come to me to get valuation on the car to be later told that I had to drive 2 hours. When I refused they soon made arrangements for me to go to a ultra tune mechanic for valuation. During notations it had been agreed upon that ther was not going to be a car pick up fee and when money was paid they charged me the pick up fee. When I tries to ring they were trying to tell me that I was just a just hungry and on such arrangement was made and...
Read more they don’t ever wave that fee. It has been 6 weeks since I sold and car is still registered in my name and have not seen the car for over a month. These guys are very unprofessional and just the worst people to sell a car to. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!!- 2 reviews

Would not use again or recommend
Where do I start. I obtained a quote from them to purchase the car and sometime later a rep called me and said he could only offer me $7000 less than what I was quote. Their reason was the car had too many k’s for a car that was less than a year and half old with full service history. I arranged with them for there guy to come and inspect the car only to be told that they would only offer $15000 less than originally quoted. At this point a told the guy my thoughts and managed to raise the purchase price. I explained my reasons for selling my ca...
Read morer and my situation and they seemed like they were trying to exploit the situation to get the car for nothing. After I agreed to a price they took 4 days and many phone calls from myself for them to pay for the car and pick it up. To top it off a month after I sold it I get rego renewal papers. The car was still registered in my name and no longer in my possession. Stay away from these peopleFind out how AreYouSelling.com.au compares to other Online Vehicle Sales Sites

Absolute Clowns
Made a deal with them signed paper. A couple of days later called me to say didn't wont car any more sorry. That was it. I advised the as per contract they must do that in writing and not just by a phone call. Took two weeks to get confirmation in writing. Which meant Lost money by cancelling my Adverts ( as I signed A deal with them ). I also couldn't resell car for a couple of weeks until they sent me confirmation of cancelling contract in writing. They were good at quoting contract which says they can cancel anytime . But forget the part about doing it in writing.

Give you an estimate then offer you less on the phone...
They tell you a price then offer you way less, when cars in perfect condition. I've had two cars go through inspection and both immaculate.
Dodgy - AVOID
I sold my car to these guys last year. All seemed OK - i wanted to keep my car for a few weeks (dad was sick) and advised them of that from the start. Firstly they =really pressed me, I mean really pressed me to make an immediate decision. I did but wrote on the contract that pick up was in a few weeks. They then deposited the money into my account early and immediately started hassling me to collect the vehicle- phone call after phone call. Rude and pushy. Also be minded they take almost 200 from the figure for fees. They dont tell you this upfront. AVOID

Read moree them peace of mind it's sold) until they are ready to hand it over. Our process is one of safety and comfort for our customers in the fact that we allow them to still be in possession of the vehicle whilst we make the payment. Once payment is made we must collect the vehicle immediately - as per the contract. I believe the outcome after you were paid was that we allowed you to keep the car for the period you needed (2 weeks), showing our flexibility and care for our customers. I'm not sure why you would advise people to avoid us when you in fact had the car and the money for 2 weeks.- 4 reviews

Didn't even get an offer..
My car did not get an offer. After 1.5 weeks i get a text saying my car does not meet criteria for them to buy. Listed everything that was wrong, so they could do a fair price. All they want is cars that they can flip quickly that they can buy cheap. Will never try and use again.
Hi Richard,
The purpose of the text is to avoid wasting any of your time. 1.5 weeks does seem abnormally long and we will look into this. It may have been due to the holiday period. We have clear gui...

All they did was lie lie lie!
Their ad says top dollars and their quote was reasonable. However, they call you before they check the car and tell you stuff that's all wrong and try to degrade your vehicle to slash 50%+ off the quote. i had to argue with them to tell them to see the car first but they were adamant to give the lowest price ever. This is a car worth around $10,000 and they were wanting to buy it for $2,000. The car was in great conditions and never had a crash and low kilometres.
Not impressed, and lying about their promises and what is on their ad.

Read moreegrading it and already judging that car had scrapes and dents all throughout and then claiming it's only worth $2,000 when clearly it is worth between $8,250 – 11,660 (as can be seen from CarsGuide.com.au https://www.carsguide.com.au/dodge/avenger/price/2008/sxt?id=BhDMGdFS). Secondly, I never DEMANDED an inspection, i asked that before you judge the car should you at least see it? The answer was no if i wasn't to accept the offer. Thirdly, i have done my research and you can check carsales.com.au and CarsGuide.com.au and on both trusted and more accurate sites show that my car was never worth your offer. I never slander an honest business online, in fact, i rarely even right reviews. However, your lies, disgusting and cheating method made me write a review so Australians don't get cheated by you. You then have the audacity to respond to my review and lie here as well to cover your previous lies. If you're unable to float your business i suggest you leave the industry altogether rather than cheat people, steal from them and lie through your teeth. I am no longer interested if you respond and nor will i if you do, because i've already wasted too much time on you that i shouldn't have anyway.Hello Najee,

I filled out the details of my vehicle on their website and was given a quote between 6000 and 8200 for my vehicle. I filled out all my details for someone to contact me. I received an email telling me how eager they were to buy my car and to call them back ASAP. I called a number of times and heard nothing. I sent another email asking what was going on. I then received a phone call from a man named [name removed] who offered me between 5000-6000 with ought even seeing the car. Felt tricked into to speaking to anyone and found them very dishonest.

Total Rubbish Con Artists
They gave a quote, and once I tried to cancel the sale, they couldn't be bothered answering the phone. They made sure the money went through and the registration was all done prior to me getting through and cancelling. Primarily, because it was a 4x4 dual cab ute, they just wanted it full stop, regardless of any objections. Would love to see these guys chased out of Australia again. If you can avoid dealing with them, avoid it at all costs. Personally, I wouldn't give them any stars at all as they are a total con.

What a bunch of Clowns
Started out fine, I was offered $26,500 for my immaculate 2011 Subaru STi. Booked an inspection and the price dropped on inspection to $24,000 and I negotiated back to $24,500. Got an email that day for a payout letter and I obliged instantly. Weekend goes by, nothing, another week, nothing. Then I rang their number and it rang out for 2 days, so, I called the sales rep, he gave me a number I had already been calling and I rang it. Be Careful
I sold my Lotus Elise after THEY contacted me. The prices they say they will pay vary greatly between when they first contact you to when they finally sign. It's a bit of a con from the start but NOT my main complaint. I signed all their paperwork and transfer documents. You even pay a fee for transfer. They didn't complete their side and as a result Dept Of Transport have suspended my license because this company did not do what they should have and dispite taking a fee for! They tell you you don't need to fill in transfer forms as supplied by DOT as theirs is enough. But if you don't you will get your license suspended, fined etc for them not doing something they should have done and took a fee for. BE VERY CAREFUL.
The company sent your proof we did everything right and followed process. The issue was between you and the transport department. However, you've decided to keep your review up and blame us for your license suspension..... Jerk.

Read moredn't you do Everything Right then you had the nerve to threaten me with legal action if I didn't take down the review I left. That alone sums up why to avoid this company. For all the review readers out there. If you sell your car to this company and they refuse to sign your allocated states transfer documentation because the "form" they use does, or they say you don't need it. As they did with me. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. You need to fill in your specific states transfer documentation AS WELL AS this companies. Failure to do so will make you liable for any issues at a later date as I was, when plates or transfer is not done correctly after you sell your car to these idiots. We have sent you a solicitors letter, this is correct. It wasn't an ultimatum or a threat. You have blatantly defamed the business. The car was deregistered, period.
Time wasting, unprofessional, cold hearted LIARS.
- Says they're going to offer 7-8k, sees my car is immaculate condition and owner wants it (said so himself) then wastes my time for another 40 mins saying "we'll be right with you" when you're twiddling your thumbs on your phone, making phone calls to your "buddies".
- Highly unprofessional.
- Says one thing and does another.
- Blames the market or other staff for mistakes.
- Bad mouthing another customer to me in the most disrespectful way to a mother and daughter trying to buy a car they knew nothing about and just wanted information.

Don't waste your time
I spoke to are you selling a few times over the past few weeks. One the first call I was told that my car would likely be worth around $14k (its a 4-year-old, Hyundai i40). I said I was hoping for more like $15k. The lady I was speaking to said she would confirm with her manager and get back to me. I then started to receive an annoying number of SMS every few days asking if I was still selling. In the meantime I have had an offer from a private seller for $14k so I thought I would see if I could get a higher price from Are you selling. I called...
Read more them and a bloke called [name removed] (I think?) called me back. His first question was "what had the private buyer offered", I said that I wasn't going to tell him just to have him make an offer that was $500 higher and asked for his best price." He told me that he "needed to work with me" and "I'm paid more commission the more I pay for your vehicle so I should help him out by telling him the offer." This last point is clearly a lie as what business would incentivise its staff to increase costs!! After pushing him he offered $11k when I said this was lower than the private offer he said "too easy mate"and hung up.They want to pay nothing for your car
i rang about selling my car and spoke with bobby he told me that he would give me $3000 for a 2006 ford fiesta auto. I said no as i wanted to sell it for more like $5000. So today i rang back and said i found a new car that i wanted to buy so i was going to take his $3000 offer then today he told me that my was only worth $1,700 i was shocked its worth way more than that. He told me that in 3 weeks that my car was worth less now than before i said to him in 3 weeks whats changed. HE WAS VERY RUDE TO ME ON THE PHONE WOULD NEVER USE THEM.

Unfortunately the used car market is completely overloaded with cars which is why the price may be lower than you expected. I'm sure your cars were immaculate, however it isn't about the car itself, it's the market that is the problem.
