Disappointingly slow processing of online orders
I needed a replacement for my newly-deceased Whirlpool microwave, my favourite online home appliance company didn’t have any stock and had none on order, and my desperate hunt led me to the sole source in Australia - Arisit, part of the Harvey Norman group of companies.
On their website, they stated:
“Arisit is 100% Australian Owned Company and has exclusive distribution of a range of appliance brands from around the world including Europe, US & China.”
Arisit confirmed the item is in stock and the price included delivery, but only to outsid...e my door. Getting it up the front steps etc was my problem. (In contrast, my favourite had confirmed they would send the item to me, unpack, install and take away the old for disposal for the exact same price, but they didn’t have the model I wanted in stock or on order. However, I could choose another, smaller model. I declined as I needed the larger model.) Clicking through the Arisit website led me to the Whirlpool Australia website and I ordered and paid for a replacement. That was before noon on Friday 31 July. An automated order confirmation duly arrived a few minutes later.
