Great-looking basic oven
I bought the Artusi AO888X a year ago to replace the Chef oven that came with my new house 20 years ago. Friends have commented on how gorgeous it looks - black glass doors with stainless steel-coloured trim and sleek brushed aluminium handles. I shopped around for a while before buying it and it really does look great and on a par with or better than a lot of the other more expensive double ovens I considered. This model is made in Italy and not to be confused with the Chinese-made model which has cheaper-looking finishes (as pointed out to me...by the helpful assistant in the Ilve store where they both were on display). The Chinese-made models of all Artusi products have a 'C' in front of the model number. I wanted a basic double oven as I don't do a lot of cooking (and no baking) and was hoping to get away with using the smaller top oven most of the time. The top oven is a convection oven and the larger bottom oven is fan forced. The top oven has been great for roasting one or two chicken breasts or cooking fish in tinfoil. Both come out juicy and well cooked. I've found, though, on testing using my oven thermometer, that the temperature control in the smaller oven is inaccurate by 20C. Another reviewer of this oven whom I contacted before purchasing it had found the same, so possibly common to all these ovens. So I compensate by setting the smaller oven to 200C and everything cooks perfectly at 180C. I can't comment on the larger oven as I've only used it once or twice. Both ovens have grills, but I haven’t used this function yet. The control knobs are great and click into place reassuringly on the selected functions. They are easy to read and haven’t started to rub off (unlike the text on my Breville microwave ON/OFF button!). The digital clock/timer display is large and bright, so easy to see and easy to reset if the power goes off. The instruction booklet comes in two parts, with a separate timer touch control instruction booklet which is obviously required to clarify the instructions in the main booklet which are written in fairly rudimentary English. I needed that to be able to set the timer the first time! To my delight, the Artusi was able to have a plug connected to its power cord and simply plugged into the socket where my old Chef had been connected. I was told that rewiring would be required for any oven over 15Amps, so the Artusi (4.25kW) was carefully selected to comply and saved about $600 in electrician’s charges. It fitted perfectly into the cavity left by my previous oven - no modifications or adjustments required. There was a promotional extended warranty on offer at the time, so the standard 2-year warranty was upgraded at no charge to 5 years - amazing! I bought it from Appliances Online on their EOFY sale for $1083 which included delivery and removal of my old dead oven, so totally hassle free!
Best thing I ever did
Bought this great oven following a disasterous experience with an Electrolux digital oven.
As previous reviewers have stated, manual dials mean the exact temperature is selected and cooking is thorough and totally predictable.
The timer is very soft and can sometimes be missed when it rings, would be the only criticism.
Artusi AO888x is fabulous.

This is a great double oven!
This is a simple and easy oven to use. Best of all the temperature knobs dial-up the correct temperature so everything cooks as it should. When cooking, the oven's cooling fans are quiet - so after the oven is switched off, the fan noise is very slight. The only drawback is that the timer sound is far too low. Otherwise, it is a great oven offering conventional cooking in the smaller oven and fan-forced cooking in the larger oven.
