Phone died and unrepairable after 1 year
I was extremely disappointed when my phone all of a sudden dies in the middle of browsing session. Brought it to a local repairer and I was told that there was an issue with the cpu which maked it unrepairable.
There are no asus service center in australia that could help and given that thr phone is older than 1 year old, its outside of warranty.
I used to be an advocate of asus, but after this experience, no more. How could a $1500 phonr dies in less than 2 years? It's pathetic.
Show detailsDisappointed with Camera
On paper the camera should be really good. It has great specs and a good resolution. Unfortunately, for me I often hit to take a photo and it has a delay of up to 2 or 3 seconds, often causing me to miss the moment. Also the flash isn't a flash, it just turns the light on and blinds your subject.
Other than that, best battery I have ever had on a phone, my few games i play run like a dream, and I will never encounter any issue with storage.
Regretful purchase
The specs are awesome and the device itself is a beast especially if you're a gamer (will I'm not a gamer but high specs are what I look for)
Asus need to work more on the customer services especially following up with its official forum, many customers having the same issues yet Asus ignore them. I personally faced issues with the microphone ( the caller on the other side couldn't hear me well when using 4G network call ( microphone on other applications is very well and no I don't have any issues with the 4G network and too many customers are
Ticks all the boxes
The phone has the perfect mix of hardware and software, I greatly appreciate the battery care function and game genie. Speakers on the phone are otherworldly in sound quality, even the most minor details can be heard and covers a large range of volumes. Opens all apps quickly and runs them smoothly without major delays or hiccups. The battery life on the phone is amazing, first time I've had a smart phone battery last 2 days on one charge. 2 days on one charge is significant for me given I do tend to leave a game running on my phone and forget.

ASUS ROG Phone 3
I have been using the ASUS ROG Phone 3 to close to a month. My previous phone (an LG V20) was getting old and slow. I am really appreciating the new, speedy ASUS phone with its bright AMOLED screen and loud speakers.
I am not a gamer. I use the phone to consume media and browse the internet. The phone has been great for watching YouTube and online media.
What I enjoy (in no order):
1. The bright, colourful screen
2. The front firing stereo speakers (great for music)
3. The great battery life and battery care options
4. The weight of the phone (it is well balanced and feels premium)
5. I ordered the Lighting Armour case and enjoy the look and feel

Same price as the ROG Phone 2 but even better!
I upgraded my ROG Phone 2 to a ROG Phone 3. I was surprised that Asus didn't increase the price of the ROG Phone 3. The ROG Phone 3 come with a better screen with 144Hz refresh rate and a better AirTrigger which make gaming more easier as I can now trigger most of the buttons in one place. I also like the new design of the AeroActive Cooler which has a kickstand. Now I can play games and watch movies at a better viewing experience when I have the fan on!
I hope Asus can bring back the 3.5mm audio jack and add wireless charging and water resistant in ROG Phone 4!

ROG Phone 3 12GB 512GB.
Almost the absolute best specs in phones if we could get the 16GB version in Aus.
Pros:
6,000mAh Battery.
Options to charge your phone up to 80%, 90% or 100% to extend battery lifespan.
Option for slow charging at 10W to extend battery lifespan.
6.59 Inch 144Hz (160Hz in Dev options with ADB mode on a computer).
Snapdragon 865+ is super snappy with every day tasks and gaming.
Amazing dual front facing speakers.

... Read moreDoesn't come with Earphones. No wireless charging. The phone is 240g and is huge that can be a negative for many people. Not the best rear cameras on a phone but it's a gaming phone. Cons: No support for Telstra VoLTE or VoWIFI. Always on Display doesn't show notification icons (Lock screen does show them). The front facing camera quality is bad for video calls so would likely be poor for live streaming as well (Lots of noise).Author stated being incentivised for this review
Great phone and love it.
The rog phone 3 is absolutely a beast for gaming. 144hz fresh rate display is just what I need for my game.and the app start really fast and the camera is enough fo me. Just hop that more accessories can sell with the phone at the same time in NZ, I reallyike to get one twin view Dock 3 when I purchased the phone.

Future Proof your phone
ASUS ROG Phone 3 12GB Ram 512GB Storage
I hardly upgrade my phone unless it's necessary. When my phone was due for an upgrade, I researched the market for a phone that will last a long time. After careful research on the market, the best available phone that has the best specification in Australia at this time is the ASUS ROG Phone 3.
It's only been a week since using the phone and it's been performing well. I am very impressed with the overall performance.
Display: Rating 5 out of 5
The display is clear and crisp with a large screen to boot. It runs apps and games smoothly especially with the raw power built into the phone.

Show detailsOne small step for man, one giant leap for Gamers
I was anxious about buying the ROG Phone 3. On all accounts the Asus ROG Phone 3 is a gaming phone with huge "Gamer" overtones. I was worried that all the hype around the phone was based on its novelty, it's uniqueness. To be honest most reviews online turned me off, they emphasised the negative connotations that are akin to many of the Gamer orientated products out there. But I stayed true to the facts and I was not let down. The ROG Phone 3 is a behemoth of a phone with incredible specs.
What drew me to the phone was it's battery life, batte
... Read morery optimisation and customisation. The ability to create battery modes to limit certain functions, the ability to cap the total charge capacity and charge at an ultra low rate mean that the ROG phone 3 will last longer than any other phone with similar specs (not that there are many). Not to mention the initial size of the battery already being a standout on the market at 6000mAh. Furthermore, the ability to finely manage background processes, RAM usage and the security of my phone all from within the settings of the phone, without having to download a bunch of third party software just makes sense. Now the Camera Quality leaves a lot to be desired, but personally the Camera on a phone is a tool for saving information, not really for creating art or showing off. The basic functionality and picture quality is all I need. Additionally, along with great customisation comes great confusion. There are a lot of settings on this phone and some have unforseen affects on battery life and performance if not utilised well. This phone is not for people who like to set and forget.Author stated being incentivised for this review

Details
With the ASUS ROG Phone 3’s release in July 2020 replacing ROG Phone 2, it’s often showcased as the most advanced gaming phone today.
ASUS ROG Phone 3 Features
This gaming phone's more enviable features include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus Chipset, which the ROG Phone 3 is the first phone to use. According to Qualcomm, this provides desktop-quality gaming, while 5G connectivity and a refresh rate of 144 fps allows for smooth, immersive gameplay.
Other features that can sweeten the deal are 512GB of ROM - offering abundant storage capacity, and a 6, 000 mAh battery, which is likely to be durable, and help facilitate longer gaming sessions.
Extra Features
There are some extras that can be used for specific games, such as AirTriggers and clip-on accessories, like the clip-on fan included in the box (which also has a built-in 3.5mm jack).
Cameras
If you value your smartphone photography, the cameras on the ASUS ROG Phone 3 aren’t as high-end as those you may find on a non-gaming phone. However for plenty of reviewers, it was described as good enough for everyday use, and generally didn't make them love this phone any less.
