Resolve my WiFi deadspot
Bought from PLE after referral from various forum. Previously I bought a Netgear wifi extender but still having issue with dead spot around the single story home.
Set up was very easy using the manual given and CD. The website was very easy to use. I am not tech savvy as well. I used this router as; (1.) extend my WiFi (2.) VPN router using EXPRESSVPN firmware in conjunction with my TPG NBN Huawei.
Last few days running, no issues with dropout, I check my speed using Speedtest App and those given by Asus. Happy with the current speed and WiFi connectivity. Currently I got 5 devices connect to the Asus router.
It looked rather tacky and take up a bit of room, but so far everything work.
Very Stable Router - Excellent for the NBN FIBRE TO HOME
I have been using this router with TPG's NBN service via fiber. It is expensive but has the features to justify the cost - especially for gamers.
On the 100/40 plan. I have online Speed monitoring using samknows (https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/internet-phone/monitoring-broadband-performance) and I get sppeds up tp 93% of advertised. Note: This is not only router dependent - most of it depends on your ISP.
Router is easy to set up. Wired and wireless connections are stable. Supports AiMesh. Has 8 Lan ports - most routers only have 4...
Pretty damn good!
I've been using this router for about a year with Merlin installed. It is pretty damn good.. doesn't really miss a beat.
The modem looks like a little robotic spider. The wifi range is outstanding and it has heaps of awesome additional functions. My most used functions are the traffic analyser and qos settings.

The best router on the market!!!
I've been using this router for about a year now and tried many other routers on the "high end" level but this has to be the best! I love the interface (running Merlin) where my network is optimised very well with QOS. These so many options on this router where it has everything!! It's very easy to setup with the wizard! I love the detailed graphs for usage including websites people have visited. Remote access, media server, parental control, automatic backup, Malware protection, MU-Mimo, VPN, PC wake up, Game Booster for about 50+ popular gam...es, plus so much more. The WIFI signal is excellent where I get 3-4 bars everyone in my 2 story house. The only bad thing was QOS wouldn't work very well with games if heavy use on the network (like all routers). If you turn on Bandwidth Limiter, it will work fine with lag free games! Other high-end routers like Netgear don't have this option! I can't think of any else bad about this router! I found other routers were average with keeping my internet optimal but with heavy use, you don't notice the difference with this router! I highly recommend!!!
It has all of the standard features you would expect, including port forwarding, DNS. Maintains things like Traffic Analyzer (allowing you to see which devices are downloading the most and what sites they are downloading from). It also has a sophisticated QOS system that allows you to prioritise bandwidth to either services (Media, Gaming, Web Pages, etc) or to specific devices.

The ASUS RT-AC5300 is great if your chasing more advanced features.
If you're familiar with the ASUS web interface you will be happy that they have kept the same style with this newer router. The router features Tri-Band meaning hat you can set up three separate wireless networks, which is great when you want to have dedicated bandwidth for gaming, media streaming, or keeping all of the families Facebook and Netflix bandwidth on its own network.
For novice users, you can set up "Smart Connect" which lets the router do the above for you, allowing devices to connect to whichever network is least congested.
Received router and it was very difficult to set up. Thought it was just me but upon speaking to Asus realised there was something wrong with it from the get go. Asus wouldn't refund it and wanted me to go through retailer. Retailer wanted to wait for Asus to refund them before they would refund me. One month later no ready and 500 dollars poorer.
such a cool device with smooth gaming experience!
it looks so cool! like a spider, the coverage and speed are awesome as well.
it has built in gaming boost function which dropped my ping time 50%, but the power consumption is higher than the other modern, it is about 8 - 16 Kwh.
