Terrible handling of COVID refund - never book with them
Booked a flight through Aunt Betty in January of 2020, before the shut down due to the pandemic. After finally receiving word that refunds could be asked for (early April), I submitted through a Google form of all things, and was told to wait up to 12 weeks. After waiting for the 12 weeks I gave them a ring only to be told that they never received my refund request and that a restructured credit voucher would be going out to customers shortly.
At this stage, it was late August with the expiry for my original credit due to run out on September...30. After a further 4 weeks without hearing back about either my refund or new credit. I sent an email to their assistance email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) which had been hidden from their website since April demanding an answer to then be told my refund had been processed and will be appearing in my account within the week.They never once contacted me about my money, only ever provided answers after pushing for them. I would honestly never book with this company again and urge you to do so as well.

Worst customer service I've experienced
Easily the most infuriating company I've ever dealt with. Avoid at all costs. They are holding my flight credit to ransom i.e. I can't use it without paying additional money. Even though it was an international flight and I've tried booking a cheap domestic fare. They are horrible on the phone and often just hang up. I don't understand how they are still in business.
I still haven't received my refund after 8 months
I booked flights in December 2019 to London from Sydney. I had to cancel them in March due to COVID-19. 8 months later I still have not recieved my refund. The flights cost $3100. I am waiting for my refund of $3100, I've tried everything. Their call centre isn't even taking calls anymore. Absolutely disgusting service.
Sick Of The Excuses..? 6 Months On I Am..!
Can anyone, anywhere, find me a Business or Industry that takes over 6 months to refund a consumer for Goods or Services not provided..? How can it be that we live in such a modern age yet an industry as big as the Aviation and Travel Sector have developed a system so complex it takes months and months to recover consumer funds..? Could booking direct with the Airlines to save a few $$ have been a better approach.? Maybe so, but I know people who booked direct and have also been waiting months on end. So now we are left with dealing with a Call...Centre based offshore in the Philippines, do not communicate or update you whatsoever, tell you the same generic response every time you call, and have no email facility. So here I am 6 months later still waiting for SOMETHING to happen. A Credit, a Refund, just anything..! Come on Aunt Betty, how will you regain customer confidence when all this is over..? I would say to the Execs at Aunt Betty/BYO Jet more needs to be/should have been done to to speed up this process. For some I think it is a little too late to win back any future business. Post Covid what % of people do you think will be wanting to use the services of Third Party Online Travel Agencies based on their experience. LESSON LEARNT.

still no refund after 8 months
My flights were cancelled in March this year by the airline and I requested a refund then. It is now almost 8 months and I still haven't receive anything. All those people claiming they received their refund from Aunt Betty in a few weeks are lying and clearly paid by Aunty Betty to write fake reviews.

Received Multiple emails flight cancelled, nearly 2hr To speak to someone then get asked sensitive And Rude questions
booked with aunt betty due to the 'ratings' By a Online flight company. had the worst experience with aunt betty -they sent multiple confusing emails advising my flight was cancelled and a 'credit was in progress'. I called up the next day and waited 1 hour 45min to speak to a representative! To make it worst, the rude Aunt betty representative '[Name Removed]' questioned my gender and sexuality -outrageous and breach of my privacy. then advised the emails sent out by aunt betty was a mistake and to 'just ignore' the emails. I continued to rece...ive emails from Aunt betty that my flight was cancelled and had No confidence in the agency, Disappointing and unprofessional experience for anyone who relies on these ratings. The Partnered company Tried to assist in resolving The complaint. aunt Betty responded (to my detailed complaint) “I can confirm your flight was (date) to (date) from (origin) - laughable and just supports my Original complaint
Agreed to refund but never put request through airline so we lost our money
We asked for a refund several times, we even got an email back saying they processing our request, and then another automated email saying anyone with cancelled flight would automatically be refunded and we didn't have to do anything further. We then received another email after that asking us to confirm we wanted a refund (again), which we replied and said we did. However! it was a 'noreply' email address that displays as 'Aunt Betty customer support' as the sender box. We didn't realise until 13 weeks later while we patiently waited for our r...efund and went to follow it up. Now they refuse to give us our money back even though they knew we wanted a refund from the very start as Virign has since changed their refund policy. Worst online travel agent .
Been waiting for the refund from my flights from April , been told 3 months but never got it until now . At first been told we need to pay cancellation fee for flights canceled by the carriers ( which is SQ) , flights have all been canceled due to Covid and we even gotten the travel ban from Australian government . Such a dodgy company, first and last time dealing with this company and flight center .
Miracles can happen. I have finally been refunded from Aunt Betty.
After waiting 21 weeks and finding out from Singapore Airlines that they refunded my money back to Aunt Betty on 3 July (so Aunt Betty held on to my money knowingly for 10 weeks), I have finally recieved my refund. They did say I will get the whole $1334.00 back but I got $1316.00 instead. I am guessing the missing $28 was a credit card fee. To be honest I am just soooooooooooo happy I got most of my money back.
For those still waiting for a refund, please be persistant with them. I was like a dog with a bone.
I know one thing for sure, I will never book through an agent again.
Worst Agent you ever deal with
So i canceled my flights in march and after 2 weeks with so much hassling they issued us flight credit and we have receipt of credits. Now we like to book flights domesticly again and they saying we aren't allowed to use credits anymore . And worst customer exp. ever with operators who can't speak and understand anything. I have to take now case to current affair or customer department to get my hard earn money back. Please stay away with this dodgy business. They are totally rip off.
Thieves! Avoid at all costs!
Our Garuda flights were cancelled due to COVID and Garuda informed us that our fares had been promptly returned to Aunt Betty. Now 16 weeks since claiming a refund, still nothing! Their phone staff are extremely rude and dismissive. They sent details of my refund by SMS, refusing to confirm by email! Dodgy! And if they do eventually refund me, I was advised that about 75% of my refund is gobbled up in fees anyway! Have filed with Fair Trading because what they’re doing should be illegal. I’m very sorry that I used them, and feel sick that I also convinced 3 other families to book their same flights with them.
Terrible customer service, staff with no brain
I will NOT use Aunt Betty in my entire life ever again. Calling customer service for a refund on the 1 September and advised them the original payment method has been canceled and also provided them with the updated bank detail for the refund process. JEFF from customer service asked to send them an email about it which I did. Called 1 week later and said the refund has been processed on the 2 Sept and was transferred to the original form of payment. Absolutely unbelievable, clearly they hired someone with no brain and no skills at all. They even accused I was lying that the original payment method was not cancelled because the payment did not bounce back. I mean seriously?
Avoid This Company At All Costs!
I understand these are unprecedented times but Aunt Betty's process for managing refunds is appalling and deceptive.
We have been waiting for a refund since March (despite the automated email saying it would take 12 weeks) - similar to other reviews, our airline has confirmed they refunded Aunt Betty over a week ago and when I call Aunt Betty they tell me the airline are lying and haven't processed the funds.
Also, the card we used to purchased the tickets has now expired, when we call and ask to update our card details on file so the funds...can be processed into the correct account, Aunt Betty say this is against their protocol and we need to wait for the funds to bounce back to their account, then we need to contact them (not sure how we will know when this has happened) to update our account details at that time - what an absolute joke. I'm starting to feel like these are all tactics of delay so they can drag the process out and keep our money. Do not book with this company.

My flight was cancelled on 19 March 2020, your office informed that my refund will be proceed near 12 weeks since. I didn t have any reply or advice on my refund status and I am still waiting for my refund. Can one of your representative replied my questions? Please respect our customer's right, at least, we are protected under Australian Customer right Act. I have been writing various mails and refund forms, NO Replied at all. I will keep my last hope to receive your reply soon. My booking number is ABY3159956.
When will I get my refund? My booking was for 2 April. I asked for a refund in March. It is now December. When will you give my money back? I don't want your credit. I cannot fly from Australia to anywhere. So, I want my money back.
I'm in the same position - 8k refund due, have been waiting 6 months now. They told me they had submitted the refund request to the airline and kept asking me to wait. When eventually I rang the airline direct they said they hadn't received any refund request for my flights. Aunt Betty then said it had been submitted under a different process. Then just late last month (Nov) I followed up yet again and they told me that the airline had changed processes and all refund requests had to be submitted again, therefore it goes back to scratch and I must wait another 12-16 weeks. So it will be March next year before I can even expect to hear from them. A year for a refund! They said everyone is in the same boat.
With our shell credit I have if we are unable to use by the date will this be extended the date I was give was to be booked by Jan 2021
