Aussie Bodies HPLC Bar (page 2 of 3)
Great bar, but cheap/unknown ingredients caused an allergy
The nutritional benefits of this bar seemed the best when checking all of the bars available at the supermarket. The taste is odd but it isn't a real chocolate bar so if that is what you are expecting you are going to be disappointed. Just some fuel for the rig! I had some kind of allergic reaction to the bar with a really blocked nose as soon as I ate it.

It's just protein
I eat these at work all the time (Security Officer) and it serves as a physical protein source not a liquid one. People always complain about taste but if you are truly seeking the 'change' you have to eat for the results, not the taste. Cookies & Cream is the only once I can eat as the others are too sweet in my opinion.

45 grams of protein per 100 gram bar
Not a bad bar and with the huge protein hit too (45 grams per 100 gram bar) I sampled a few other bars on the market, even the popular quest bar. That plus the other ones were no where close for taste and size wise in my opinion. I bought a few on special at coles for $3.65, normally $5.60.
And be realistic, you aren't going to taste anything like a cadbury milk chocolate bar. Enjoy it or pretend to anyway!

Yuck
"Chocolate Flavor." You can really taste the artificial sugars in this piece of crap. The Bar resembles of a stale milky way which is incredibly chewy and hard to swallow. The bar has 2 protein blends (protein blend 42%, protein milk chocolate 23%) which is questionable in terms of quality of the protein sources. The added creatine is unnecessary giving it two stars only because of its 45 g protein content but for a 100g bar, it's pretty mediocre compared to another brands. Would not eat another one nor recommend it to friends.
Tl:dr
Pros : High in protein
Cons: Everything else
Would recommend it: No

Great
This is a tasty bar. I have been buying these for the last 6 months since they have been at woollies. I recommend buying them when they have 30% off which is usually every 4 weeks. Also they are big enough to half and have as a snack for both morning and afternoon tea.
Doesn't taste anything like chocolate, tastes horrible.
This is the worst tasting thing I've had in my mouth for years. I had one bite, that was more than enough. I rinsed my mouth out with water, but I couldn't get the foul taste out. Every time I think of it, I feel nauseous. Yuk, yuk, yuk!
be wary this bar can react adversely in certain individuals
began taking these bars about 6 weeks ago. They seem fantastic to have such a high protein and lo carb content. The chocolate bars taste pretty good too. Only trouble is, I've had a couple of recent bouts of nausea, which I have never experienced before in my life. Thought I had an ulcer, even went so far as to get blood and breath tests for the helico pylori bacteria. Stopped taking these for a week. Then had a little nibble of about 1/5 of a bar not much at all just a couple of hours ago. Could feel the same feeling of nausea coming soon afte...
Read morerwards. So pretty sure now they're the culprit. I don't know what's in them to cause that, but I'd stay clear of them from a health point of view. Bit of a shame from a muscle building point of view, they seemed great.BigglesworthSydney, NSW

Serves my needs
I am on a low carb, high protein diet as part of a Bodytrim program. At 42 percent protein this is superior even to the Bodytrim and Atkins alternatives (which are both good). The only negative is the price $5 but if you buy the 100 gram bar when it is on special it can sometimes be cheaper than the others which are 50 and 60 grams respectively.

Don't trust processed food manufacturers
After using for a few days I developed a strange sweat odour, which was obvious to all. Stopped using this product and all is good again. They're obviously cramming unhealthy ingredients in with this product in addition to the protein. Would hate to think what it was doing to my body chemistry.
Too many unknown ingredients

Cheaper to Buy at ChemistWarehouse
ChemistWarehouse usually has them in stock for $3.99 each which is a lot cheaper than the supermarkets. I tend to buy a few at a time and then keep one in my bag. I'm a mum not a bodybuilder, but they're convenient for a quick snack on-the-go (when that mid-afternoon energy slump hits). Am hoping it's more healthy than having a confectionary alternative - seems to work better than them. If you like your treats to be seriously sugar coated then maybe they're not for you - it's more 'biscuit' than Mars bar in flavour but I prefer that.
Not chocolate - it's hard to find any other bars that don't come in 'chocolate' flavour or with 'chocolate coating'.
Large size bar - but they store well if you want to eat half and save half for later.
Amazing.
I'm not sure what people are complaining about, these bars are fantastic. The serving size is great, 45g of protein is almost double what most on-the-go bars offer, and the taste is better than almost any other bar I've had.
Then again, you don't buy these bars just for taste. If you don't like the taste if these, there's a pretty high chance you won't enjoy 99% of bars on the market.
Great taste, smooth nougat like texture, heaps of protein.
A little expensive.

So Good When I'm Craving Chocolate!
When I've let myself get too hungry while I'm out-and-about, it's way too easy for me to grab a "quick fix" food from the supermarket that gives me a sudden burst of energy, and that's usually chocolate! Whenever this happens, however, I almost always eat too much too quickly and my blood sugar hits the roof before crashing in nearly no time at all. Just last night at around dinnertime, I wasn't even close to being home and picked up one of these (chocolate-flavoured) HPLC bars that were on special for $4 at Coles to try instead of resorting to...
Read more chocolate. The verdict: I'M SOLD! It's obviously not quite the same as a chocolate bar, but it's much more nutritious and filling. The calorie content is much higher than a typical chocolate bar, but do remember that this supplement bar is large and dense at 100g! Kept me well-and-truly satisfied long enough to get home, and I wasn't even very hungry for a "proper" dinner an hour later. Sadly, these are quite overpriced. I can't see myself buying them again unless they are put on sale again. Dense, chewy, reminded me of chocolate nougat, seemed very indulgent, yet guilt-free! Expensive, only one flavour (chocolate) was available at Coles.High Protein? Triple Check.
These bars are fantastic for a post-workout, and contain just over 45 grams of protein, quite a reasonable amount of fibre and low carbohydrate and sugar content. My only issues with these bars is that it would be great if there were more flavours - I've been sticking with the caramel as I tried the Choc Crunch today and well... It reminded me of dog biscuits (yes, I know what dog biscuits taste like). Currently selling in Woolworths (where I get them) for $5 a bar, they're a little on the pricey side but if you use these to substitute large s...
Read morenacks or a small meal they can be worth it. They're also good to satisfy that sweet tooth (especially since I'm a girl and well, sugar cravings are a hourly part of my day). Thumbs Up! The Best Healthy Chocolate bar sold at mainstream supermarkets
To a certain extent, I would say that I am somewhat of a health nut. To incorporate into my controlled eating plan, I would need to find a high protein bar with the lowest sugar content possible and this absolutely ticked all the boxes on my list. These sorts of bars do not overwhelm you with a sugary taste like most cheaper non-health related chocolate bars.
There are two ways in which I take them, either through a cardiovascular bike ride, or a gym session or as a meal replacement when I'm busy on the go. These bars are not to be consumed ...
Read morefor fun, or if you're not going to be exercising; as well as if you have a craving for chocolate. It is designed intended for its purpose. As this comes in three flavours, the best flavour I've found is chocolate and above all other flavours; has the lowest sugar content per 100 grams. It also controls your hunger cravings too, which is better than junk food. In conclusion, It serves my needs and even though it is expensive for what it is, it serves me very well indeed. In terms of a recommendation, I would only recommend this product only if a friend of mine were going through similar circumstances; not as an alternative for guilt-free sweets or a different agenda. It won't do any one including a friend any justice if you're not planning on changing your eating habits for the better; or incorporated with an exercise regime. 45 grams of protein, good for exercise and dietary needs (meal replacement), low sugar, low carbs Dull packaging, Wish it could be bigger in size, More flavoursAround_HereAU

Good - but they dont all contain Whey protein
* Great protein hit - 45 grams is tops in any language, relatively low carbs and fats
* Fills you up if you eat it between meals
* Excellent after a workout
* Never really noticed getting thirsty after eating one of these, like some of the other reviews have stated here, but I drink plenty of H2O anyway so I might not have noticed. Drinking water is good for you, so it might be a good thing.
* Anyone who eats protein bars for flavour is seriously kidding themselves - they are a nutritional supplement not a marinated steak and salad on the ...

OK
Having generally kept away from convenience foods in the past, I only have the Muscletech Nitro Bar against which to compare this product. Whilst the Nitro Bar has considerably better flavour than the HPLC, I find the HPLC bar somewhat easier to eat and I can get to the end without suffering severe jaw ache. Trying to masticate through a Nitro Bar is a workout in itself (value adding?). At the end of the day, I am eating this for the nutritional value when "real" food is not available so the flavour is not a big worry. Like the advisories o...
Read moren dry pet food packets, always make sure that water is available if you are going to eat this product. Protein content; price slightly less than other brands. Flavour (chocolate crunch) not great, but still edible. Need to drink a fair amount of water with this.Excellent
I really enjoyed this bar compared to a few other high protein low carb bars i have tried and on top of that its not to bad a price when compared to other brands
protein content is quite large alot more than other brands. i really enjoyed the taste and the nutritional value when real food is not available.
It is quiet a large bar, making it hard to get through it all, but no one ever benifited from being slak, get it down ya.

Sufficiently satisfied.
I'm on a weight-loss/ management diet and eat one of these every day.
I love the caramel rough and choc crunch bars. They're almost like rice-bubble bars in texture and keep me feeling full. I break mine in half and eat one half for morning tea, the second for afternoon tea, between my three bigger meals.
The choc covered bar, however, is not yum. It has that distinctly artificially-sweetened flavour to the inside portion. If you're trying to sate that chocolate craving, better to get an Atkins Indulgence/ Advantage than nibble the coatin...
Read moreg off one of the chocolate bars. It's big - good for 2 snacks between meals and very filling. Best PCF ratio bar at my local woolies. You'll dry out quick without water on-hand. Wait for them to come on special - $5 regular, $4.45 on special.1 comment

Extremley satisfied!!
HPLC bars by Aussie body's are great!! I'm a girl who has recently started lifting weights and eating super healthy, meaning for a chocolate lover such as myself I had to find a replacement and with out wanting to always head down to my local supplement store I came across these awesome bars just in the health food isle at woolies! Have tried all the flavored and found the caramel one was a bit to sweet, the choc crunch is my favorite but it has soy protein instead of WPI which is a negative so I tend to just eat the chocolate one which has a s...
Read moreuper yummy chewy texture and a reasonable taste for a protein bar! Have one every 2nd day with my lunch! 45grams of protein!!! Love it! Super easy, quick, high protein snack! Great taste!! A little expensive!! But well worth it for all that protein.Dreadful
Shocking experience today.Ate 1/2 bar and came out quickly in extreme welts from head to toe and very swollen lips. Doctor gave me a shot of antihistamine and prednisone, and 5 days tablets. Hadn't had anything else to eat apart from 1 apple. What could I be allergic to in that bar????
