Terrible customer service and incompetence. Purchasing a house, I had a 75 day settlement.
In this time there was:
Extreme lack of communication.
Incompetence (broker couldn't even tell me the difference between a redraw and an offset account and the tax implications involved).
I had $0 debt, plenty of savings, and a good income, yet I still had to get a 7 day extension to get the loan approved. Almost lost my deposit because they couldn't provide me the correct paperwork, or cross check that it was correctly filled out before forwarding to t...

Terrible service, 6 months to get a home loan and couldn't deliver
Don't waste your time. Aussie broker at Newtown spent 6 months just emailing us - wont pick up calls or reply to texts. Says she lost her voice or is in hospital every few weeks.....and at this stage the bank had already approved the loan!

I should have read the reviews before I contacted Aussie Home Loan. What a waste of time to ask them to help. We had to constantly contact them to get an update. After 2 months they came back to us to tell us that the particular bank we applied for a home loan rejected our loan request and then told us they will try another bank. We still have not heard back from them about the 2nd application 3 months later. We applied directly with the same bank, that according to Aussie rejected our application, and were approved within 2 weeks.

Worst experience ever getting a home loan
Received a Funds to Complete form and Product Information Sheet with the amount they agreed to (which we thought) .
These two forms mean nothing, you need a better application letter for the loan so there are no nasty surprises when you finally get the unconditional approval letter on the is due day of Finance
The Funds to complete form has your Purchase price and all out goings on top of the of that so they can give you the total amount for the loan. Be aware this ...

Know exactly what type of loan your after first
We decided to use a broker because we were time poor. The Royal Commission into Financial Services was just concluding on investigations into bank lending :-) That made it all the much harder. We were refinancing less than a third of our borrowing capacity. However we had to account for ANY transaction that looked out of place line by line over $150. It was very stressful. There had been a rate rise so a lot of refinancing was happening. The bank we eventually went with gave us three days to answer additional transactional queries or they wou...ld withdraw out application. I was extremely worried about our credit rating. Marina at South Morang Aussie put together a spreadsheet of our transactions and highlighted the ones we needed to explain. If it has not been for that we could have missed out on our preferred product. When it was complete we received a bag of house warming/refinancing goodies. Professional touch. One thing to remember know what you want and why, unless there is something better stick to it! We only wanted to refinance our home and we knew what features we wanted however by chance on the initial visit to Aussie we found a better loan and stuck with it :-) Marina was positive all the way through and made it as easy as possible.Thank you Aussie.
Extremely poor service Lost over 10k
We took on a broker from Aussie home loans in Brisbane to buy a 2nd home. Initial meeting with the broker went well and we were advised we can get another mortgage and buy a 2nd house and not have to use ANY of our savings for fee's/stamp duty etc as it would come from the equity in our house. We went through with it and was told through out the process none to very little of out savings would be touched.

Vijay in Canberra- what a life saver
Hi there. I just wanted to broadcast my thanks to Vijay Gakha in Canberra. Vijay has been working with me/us for around 14 years- through our first home loan, to changes in loans and then a new loan recently. It is amazing to think that during that time, Vijay was always happy to meet with us or answer the phone (even if years past he still remembered us), to go through our questions, to be patient with our confusion (as these things can be overwhelming), to provide good sound advice and prompt email replies. My last loan Vijay helped with was ...tricky as it was a following a marriage separation but again, Vijay showed compassion and understanding and helped me to navigate this new world. It was nice to know he was there to help me and I appreciated it so much. I got the loan and now my kids and I have a house with grass outback for them to play on – this is the stuff that matters.

My partner and I had the pleasure of dealing with Ruth at aussie in Bathurst, turns out getting a home loan with a 5% deposit in a rural village wasn’t a very easy process, but she stuck it through with us and got us there in the end. Aussie didn’t save us.
Broker was Shiv-ty to Sahay the least. We discovered that he conducted fraudulent transactions regarding trailing commissions on our loan. When we spoke to Aussie they did nothing. But their slogan is “We’ll save you”...
Anyway fast forward to the banking royal commission and our very issue was raised very publicly. It concluded that ‘Aussie Home Loans’ response to misconduct by four of its brokers “fell below community standards and expectations”. Deal with any bank directly yourself.
Deal with any bank directly yourself. Aussie cant get you any better deal or do the paperwork any better than you can with the help of the bank who surprisingly want you to borrow from them so will be very helpful themselves. Dont fall for the fear routine. One of there brokers told me he couldn't find me a better deal for my refinance but would do the paperwork for me for a commonwealth loan i found myself because they know how not to make mistakes and can ensure its done quickly without delays or problems... etc... feel the fear... glad to be done with these people and there middleman racket.

I been reading the reviews. Is it me or is Aussie always like this?
So far we have been going since late January. It is now the 17th March. So far apologies for power outage, being unwell and asked to resign documents because LVR was written twice the amount it should be. Lack of phone calls and one application sent last week. Was told my wife credit score was only in the 500’s but no defaults whatsoever. My wife has always had exceptional credit and gets offered credit consistently.
Has anyone else had these problems or can you advise me as I’m getting cold feet very quickly and I’m getting nowhere?
Also can you suggest another company?
