I got one of these when I went overseas a few years back. I found with the fees it wasn’t worth having. You’re better off with a debit card with no overseas fee charges or ATM fees (eg ING). I only had less than $20 left on the card. Tried to use it but it wouldn’t work. Thought I had my PIN wrong but when I checked online and I was right. I was thinking of cutting up the card but I received a replacement card as the old one had expired. The letter said to take the letter to the Post Office to activate the card. I took it there. They said they ...couldn’t do it and to ring the number on the letter. I rang Auspost and keyed in the card number. They said it was incorrect. They said to key in another number on the card. They said that was wrong. Eventually I got onto a helpful person. She informed me that there was a problem with recently issued cards and that I would have to buy a new one. She said the application fee of around $6 would be waived but that I would have to ring them again to get this done after I had purchased the new card. She told me that I had about $13 on the card. I thanked her and cut up my card.
Card blocked, I’m in Bali and 24/7 number not working
Was told that I couldn’t use my load&go reloadable card for ATM withdrawals in Bali and I should get a load&go Travel card, which I did. I am now in Bali, used it to pay for my accommodation and the transaction is declined. My card is blocked, I have tried to call the 24/7 support number but it just disconnects.
Very frustrating -this is a bad product!
It is so difficult to manage my load and go card on line: difficult is an understatement, as impossible is more accurate as despite numerous attempts over weeks I cannot log on (I used to be able to previously, but now not possible). No luck with gaining a response on line to the problem either.
Website says that the card is registered, but keeps asking me to add a card
I purchased an Australia Post Load&Go Travel Card today, loaded $ onto it at the Post Office. At home, on my computer, I logged into my Australia Post account and tried to register the card. The website says that the card is registered, but keeps asking me to add a card. The implication is that the registration process has got part-way, but cannot be completed.
I can't get past the Add a Card screen. Went into the Post Ofiice, and staff had the same problem. Told me to ring the Customer Service 1300 number. I did, and got recorded messages w...ith lots of button pressing. After 5 minutes it asked me to hold while it me through to a Customer Service Assistant, "who will be happy to assist you". Then music for 5 more minutes. Operator is deluged with complaints, poor thing. But she was helpful. She said browsers have a problem registering the card, but that if you download the app on a mobile phone, you can set up the card properly. After that, you can access the card via browsers. Australia Post disclaims all responsibility; but they must receive remuneration from the Load&Go company. I would not have thought that Australia Post would lend their name to a shoddy product.
Worse product ever - does not work, site is useless - STAY AWAY
Australia Post this is ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. I cannot log into the site, I cannot use the card, there are SO MANY errors since I registered 1 year ago it is embarrassing! Fire the idiot running this service and get someone who knows what they are doing. I want a 100% refund today!
If I could you a NEGATIVE rating I would. Your score today is 1.5 out of 5, I think this kind of says it all...
Completely Useless for Purpose
Yesterday I used my Load and Go for an online purchase which is why I bought this card. Unfortunately for the first time ever, I found it necessary to cancel the transaction. I quickly found out that the monies had been deducted from the card balance. After speaking to the retailer involved who ensured me that the transaction had been cancelled I contacted Australia Post. Whilst customer service consultant was pleasant I was informed me that it could take up to a further 10 days for the funds to be reinstated onto my card. In the meantime I am...left unable to make the purchase necessary unless I load more funds which I do not have or risk missing out on the item altogether. Sadly I should have listened to a friend's advice and used a standard bank credit card where the matter would have been dealt with in a much more expedient and timely manner. The Load and Go card is completely useless for purpose!.
Aus post is frustrating and inefficient
Tried to activate loadbgo card. Local PO didn’t know how to help. Said ph help line. Helpline said go to PO. Refused to give me copy of my transaction. Said only a couple of dollars left. Just forget it and get a new card. Great business model Aus Post. My card is in the bin. Never again.
DO NOT PURCHASE
My 18yo son is stuck in Thailand on his first overseas trip without access to his funds. Card has been blocked due to fradulent activity. I get that this can happen but follow up with customer support has not helped at all & he is having to use his normal atm card whilst being charged ridiculous fees. We have used various forms of this sort of card but never had this problem. We will never ever purchase an Australia Post Load & Go card again
Dreadful Customer Service
RECOMMEND YOU STAY AWAY FROM THIS USELESS PRODUCT. This card worked quite well until last year when they changed their website. I wasn't able to log in & check balance/add funds any more. Contacted Aust Post - not able to help, gave me another phone number, not able to get through (prob because everyone else was having the same problem), not able to help at Post Office. Have no idea how much is sitting on the card now & haven't been able to use it. Much better to open a bank account & have a debit card, can have 2 accounts & top up from an...other account. Many banks have suitable accounts with no fees. I thought this would be a good option for my daughter to learn how to manage a card, didn't expect she would get ripped off. Aust Post used to be a trustworthy, ethical government service.
Terrible customer service
Was given one of these cards as a present and planned on putting the money towards something I was saving for. I was told by staff at the shop to ring customer service and extend the date if needed. Rang customer service who said they won't extend it and told me to go back to the shop. The explanation given for not re issuing a card or extending the expiry was to refer to the terms and conditions. Terrible service. Educate your staff or look after your customers who are given poor advice by your staff.
This card is useless.
This card was useless. The activation process failed and I couldn’t load money onto the card on line. I was charged to check the balance as I couldn’t do it on line. The app didn’t work and just strobed on my iPad. The customer support was useless and did not get back to me. I wasted hours trying to resolve these issues including two trips to Australia Post who said there was nothing they could do. Australia Post are disingenuous promoting this card to customers as they really don’t know anything about it.
ps 3 days later still no response from customer support.
Unreliable, non-functional, faulty, timewasters
My current replacement card has been difficult to useless for on-line transactions. I was told to use a 6 digit verification, then the four digit, but nothing works and vital payments are missing deadlines.Apparently the technology upgrades are usual standard dodgy tinkering - trashing a viable product. Australia Post passport photos are as dreadful a service as travel cards. so third world!
The Only Time I Should Not Have Listened To Mum!!!
Prior to purchasing and loading this ridiculously fee hungry card I had the intention of taking cash overseas as I had always done, and always came home with funds left, with this "safe" card the fees alone...in 5 days with initially minimal withdrawal amounts until I was finally able to get the website to work here in Thailand amount to 15.04+11.57+7.38+8.66
=$161.04 Fees only not including the atm withdrawal fee.
The utter lack of security
With over AUD $1500 I apparently signed for disappearing.
Terrible exchange rate.
With my everyday CBA account at a 26c higher rate and lower fees (*i know its hardly anything but that is besides the point) really makes me wonder. ...
Well, like EVERYONE else, I am pulling my hair out...what a nightmare.
Luckily we have some time before we leave, so I'd appreciate being able to speak to someone, so I can register my card, & please don't tell me to call 1300 665 054...the option 7, doesn't take you anywhere...aaargh!
I really hoped this service would be better
After reading these reviews I set this card up as a backup for other services I use. Now my card has been blocked because of incorrect pin entry and I cannot call the support number from the Nederlands. When I do I get a voice message saying "The number have called has been barred" in Deutch. [name removed], you seem lovely. Please tell me there is another way for me to unblock this card.
Questions & Answers
i loaded my travel card, but i can't make a w-drawer. every time i try to get cash at the ATM machine it keeps saying temporarily unavailable and transaction canceled. please someone tell me what is wrong and how can i fix it?
I had a similar issue with this card. I tried to buy via eftpos at a shop with my savings in this card, and could not rectify the issue.
When I contacted load and go, to help me to get into my online Australia post load and go account they wanted me to give them a photo of my medicare card and drivers licence detalis online. I felt that doing this online may be unsafe, due to the possibility of I.D theft
Also, when I had money stolen out of my Australia post load and go account, when I complained to the Australia post staff, they would not even investigate it, or follow it up. The fees for load and go are very expensive. I think that you are better of using a special fee free or low fee bank account for online purposes, to get better customer service and lower fees.
