Terrible and careless
Just received a tennis racquet yesterday. Thank goodness my wife was there when the delivery guy arrived. He was just about to throw the tennis racquet into the house like a newspaper when she explained we have a gate!!! He wasn't in uniform so suspect he was some form of contractor. Incompetent and rude. Shame on Aust post. We deserve better.
Can not believe companies still use them
As a business, we never use Australia Post. Far too many reasons, but many past issues with deliveries. However some of our suppliers still use them and our deliveries continue to NOT be delivered. We work from a home office. 'We missed you' cards keep being put in letter box forcing us to waste time going to post office to pick up parcels. Latest was a very small parcel that would fit in the letterbox, in addition to this I was home all day. When picking up the parcel, post office worker even commented saying how she wondered why they didn't j...ust leave it in the letterbox, it was so small. My only assumption is the post worker can't find it in their van so just drops the card and dumps it back to the depot. Multiple talks with Aus Post about the issue with no resolution. I've taken photos with explanations, debunking their false reasons behind the none deliveries. Every time, they just say they will talk to the depot. Last weeks complaint didn't even go through the system and was lost. They can't even get complaints right.

Received a delivery, opened it up and even though it was well packaged and secure, the delicate items were smashed into a million pieces. It looked like it had been dropped from a high height or someone had jumped on it. Aus post took 0 responsibility. No duty of care. And refused to even respond when requesting investigation.
Worse than useless!
They send my parcel back and forth around the country, just updating the expected delivery so they can keep saying that it is arriving on time. !?!?! Hire more staff and fix your mess Aus Post.
Doing the best they can in Covid-19 times
Ive had a number of parcels sent to me and with their tracking ability, I know how far they are away. That keeps my anxiety at bay, knwung they are held up in processing or even with the postal delivery person. It's a challenging time with Covid-19 and Australia Post are doing their best to get the job done without comprising the health of their staff.

The postie/delivery person couldn't be bothered to walk up stairs to the leave it by the front door instead left it on the 2nd step IN PLAIN SITE!!!!

The item took almost 2 weeks from Sydney to Cairns and this is the way it was received!
Getting worse every day
I understand post is delayed with COVID-19, but when I can get a parcel from the USA in 4 days but can not seem to get Australia Post to keep a parcel in the correct state, it is hard not to judge the inefficiency of our national postal service. On 24 August, Australia Post was handed a parcel in Mt Gambier. This parcel made it to Qld on 30 August into the Redbank facility, which is only a few minutes from its final destination. It sat there awaiting Auspost to complete the last part of the journey, however I discovered today that the parcel ha...s now been sent to Sydney. Why? Essentially, it is because Auspost are a national disgrace and have no idea what they are doing. Why have a parcel sitting in the correct state and then forward it back interstate AWAY from its end destination. This is yet again another example of why Auspost will never be competitive again. Edit: the parcel finally arrived and I received a PM from Auspost stating that due to COVID-19 they have delays etc.... Well, the rest of the world has the same issues and many far worse, but they keep mail moving. My opinion of Auspost stands, given that we pay for Express items which take many days to arrive, mail is routinely sitting for days without moving etc.
Have made 3 complaints in 7 weeks relating to postal service motor bike delivery driver for local area. Does not deliver parcels yet he has them on him, lost a registered letter, pre fills sorry you were not home and puts them in my letter box when I’m standing out the front of the house. Aus post website crashes when you lodge complaint- not handy at all. Ring local post office and they don’t want to know about it- told to ring 13 number even though website says report to post office
Terrible in every aspect
Reduced deliveries from daily to 3 times per week. When I was young it was 11 times per week, what we have now is a third world system but the upper managment is getting massive bonuses, what a joke!

I ordered a couple of Maxwell & Williams White Basic Soho Rim Dinner Sets, Stanley Rogers Acacia Black Knife Block 6 Piece Set Stainless Steel, Stanley Rogers Cambridge 30pc Cutlery Set and Stanley Rogers Albany 8pc Steak Knife Set Stainless Steel but it was delayed and they all came late so I wasn't happy.
Never deliver to the door
On numerous occasions, the status have shown "Attempted delivery but not one in attendance" when that is completely untrue!!!! Everytime, I have to go and collect it from the post office.
6 days so far to deliver a parcel 25 minutes from where parcel posted from
6 days, no updates online tracking only info is the post office received it 11.am Wednesday 5th August. Well yes I know they received it I posted it. No further updates although phone enquires tell me to use the drop down tracking information.....25 minutes away is the delivery postcode.
What on earth is going on?!
Been checking my app for my delivery 10 times a day, up until 1pm today it showed it's in Welshpool WA.
All of a sudden at 2:30pm I get an email saying it's coming today!?
Check the app again, and it shows it was updated at 7am this morning...nope I checked a hundred times today from 6am onwards.
Been home all day, and it still says onboard for delivery...ok cool.
Go outside to find I've been carded. But the tracking hasn't even shown attempted delivery.

My track number is 33D9A222321701000935005. The status of my parcel is stuck on Its being prepared. The sender said the item has been picked up yesterday morning. I’d like to know when will the status be updated. I am worried that the parcel is lost or stolen
We'd normally expect to see a tracking update once it has been picked up. Are you sure it's been picked up by us or could it be that your sender is actually shipping this from overseas with a different carrier before it gets lodged with us? That's a pretty common arrangement these days.
I'd recommend getting back in touch with your sender and asking them to contact us so that we can confirm the parcel has been posted with us and look into why there is no tracking event to advise this if that is the case.
The send confirmed the item has been picked up by staff from Australia Post in Tuesday morning, 15/06/2021. And it’s domestic parcel from Sydney
It's definitely odd not to see that on the tracking. Also, the return address on the parcel is in Victoria and the shipping information has been submitted to us in Melbourne at the Mount Waverley Business Hub.
If it was being posted from Sydney though, delivery to your location would be expected tomorrow or Monday. If you don't receive it by then and there still aren't any tracking updates, please ask your sender to contact us.

I have a parcel that's been stuck on "in transit" for a couple days now that just got updated to "waiting to be processed for delivery. Does this mean that it's no longer stuck in transit, or is it an automated response to being delayed?

I can see why you'd be confused! Looking at the scans we have it looks like the parcel arrived at the delivery centre on Tuesday, so should have gone out for delivery yesterday. While it will likely go out today, we can open an investigation with the delivery centre to confirm this if you want.
