Worst postage service I’ve ever had
I've ordered a parcel and clearly written delivery instructions to leave it in a safe place at my door. Happened twice now where they leave a slip and take it to the post office. Wasting my freaking time with their ridiculous opening hours—- when people work during a pandemic or god forbid don’t want to leave the house when unnecessary it’s near impossible to pick up. Absolutely ridiculous. Rang customer service to get it redelivered but the idiot told me it wasn’t an option because they are busy. You’ve got one freaking job, absolutely pathetic.
Aust Government needs to audit Aust Post
The Australian Government needs to audit the service of Australia Post. With limited other options for mail postal services, Australians should not have to withstand the inadequate, inconsistent and unreliable service from Australia Post any longer, nor their price structure.
Here's some examples:
I take a poster within a poster tube to my local post office. The Aust Post service desk charged me the price I was expecting. The next week I post the same item and a different person charges me twice the price. After arguing the price, the pe...rson looked into it and could get me a "better" price - which was the expect price and what I paid last week for same item. For the unexpecting customer, they could have easily been overcharged. I took a different parcel (weighing 251g) to the same Aust Post office a few weeks later. This parcel was going to France costing me $44 for postage. It should have been $41 but I was 1 gram (yes, a measly 1 gram) over the lower weight category but the Aust Post service person charges me the price of a higher weight category. Technically he was correct, but he could've done better for me when I am spending $44 on postage. This happened to be the same worker who tried to over charge me for my poster parcel a few weeks ago. Are Aust Post staff getting bonuses for the amount of money from sales they make? It feels like it to me.
Disgraceful service. DO NOT USE! Go with someone else.
My parcel weighs only 5.5kg and cost US$120. ShopMate want to charge me an extra AU$450.26 to get the parcel to Australia because it's a bit larger than they allow - despite how light it is! They never made it obvious that their size restrictions are so narrow! That information is hidden deep on the FAQ page. Never have I had such issues with other redirection services. Australia Post & ShopMate are an absolute disgrace.
AusPost not putting in the effort
Ordered a small gift on Monday for my mates wedding which is on Saturday, I ordered express mail but what I ordered did not come with tracking unfortunately but all good I got a email confirmation that it had been shipped Monday around 12 midday, so around Wednesday I go looking in my POBox for my package and nothing,I keep looking every afternoon and still nothing - but what I do notice is that pretty much every afternoon maybe 20-30 mins after the Post Office shuts a courier rocks up with a terrible tonne of parcels and letters for the next d...ay. I approached old mate this arvo and told him if there was anything under my name he couldn’t tell me anything and said he couldn’t do that I’d have to wait until it’s processed through the Post Office which I do understand but then I told him dude why is it that use rock on up after they close ? Why can’t ya get here before they close so they can process everything & give people a chance to get there letters & parcels sooner he laughed and said mate I usually have all these ready to go by 12-1 pm I just get told to come and drop them inside the door for the next day or next week after hours it’s policy or some crap ? it seems to be laziness or just crazy rules IDK but he’s only driving 10 mins from the main PO in town and coming out further in the suburbs makes no sense to me, if they were to drop them off at a reasonable hour you’d have a great chance to get ya crap before the weekend arrives which I know disappoints a lot of people off.
Lazy useless Australia Post employees
Sent an express post parcel to QLD form SA. Paid for signature on delivery as the receiver was not going to be there so someone would have to sign for it. I placed two large stickers on the bright yellow packaging - Do not leave without signature, so what did the 'Drongo' do - he or she left it in an apparent "safe place" and now it's missing... I put TWO large stickers on the parcel requesting it NOT to be left without a signature - but Australia Post employees seem to be a law unto themselves..What more do you have to do for these clowns? Cant understand how this business operates still ??? The worst run business in Australia.
I wish I could give them no star but they won’t allow, worst worst customer service and delivery, happens few time and they don’t have any solid reason for anything, showing my parcel had been delivered but nobody knows, they want to take up-to five business to solve the problem.... I would never recommend someone to use Australia post at all or under any circumstance, it’s still doubtful if they (drivers) can read actual address or not or they just want to get the job done doesn’t matter how they are doing... but my disappointment with Australian post is on another level ..... very very awful and disappointed service every time ....
Inconvenience, ineffective and unexpected charges.
My parcel is always sent to Annandale whiles there is a post 10mins close to me & I have to pay for the transfer because they cant send it closeby, or I have to order for a uber to Pick my parcel. I have created an account and made a change where my package can be left in a box but nope the post does what they want.
Also, AusPost app doesn't give details when a the parcel has arrived or its inbound or outbound , delivering address etc.
Moreover there is no delivery text message and neither does the driver even knocked on the door or rang the ...

Shopmate are pathetic rip-off merchants, they are not even AusPost – my mistake when I thought I would be looked after by AusPost, but the misled me with a false representation of their company brand. I encourage anyone considering using shopmate to reconsider
In my case, I bought a zippo lighter (tiny 100grams) of Etsy U.S.A, it was never fired and never had any fuel. Shopmate declared my parcel as prohibited. Shopmate can only have known this if they had opened parcel without my consent.
SO Im stuck. They know it. They have me by the pants..., they have me at ransom, and that’s when the big-bucks start rolling in • $30 to send to another U.S Address (Global Shopaholics who will deliver this for me no worries by the way) OR • $35 for them to rip out the inside of the lighter and send me the shell (No Freaking way, they already had their grubby mits all over it without my consent OR (my favourite)

lost parcel won't take phone calls joke
Dropped a registered post letter in a local post box. 2 weeks later absolutely no status updates. Tried to call to be told they 'can't take my call at the moment' useless incompetent service with terrible customer service I hope another service comes along and wipes the floor with you. It won't be hard.
How incompetent and rude can you get
6th July a parcel was left at my door, which by the way belonged to someone else, who lived in the same suburb. This has happened several times and each time I ring Aust Post to come and re collect. Its a delivery that requires a signature that clearly gets left without a signature. This time I didnt ring but they left a message at my door to phone them re the lost parcel. I called them and they answered the phone with "what"..I explained what happened and the chinese speaking lady says " what"..so I explained who I am and what I am calling for...no answer as she had put the phone down...too many overseas back packers work for Aust Post. And its still sitting on my desk awaiting them to come and pick up..
Good until something is lost
Item lost in transit. They admitted they were unable to locate it, after a long drawn out process. They have made no effort to rectify this. Thankfully PayPal are reliable and will aid in a refund.
Worst customer service ever
Have not received any decent help/explanation about my macbook disappearing after more than 2months, many phonecalls and emails. All customer service does when I call is suggest that I should close my case and simply lose my priceless memories, projects etc and (3000euros). I assume someone stole it as it was only an hour away from my location before it 'mysteriously' disappeared. I am a graphic designer so this loss affected me heavily. I am extremely disappointed as this company claims to listen, provide help and connections but don't live up to it.
My itemns were delivered to my neighbours the amount of embaressment im suffering right now is beyond disbelief The postman needs to ask for photo id before handing over itemns were they dont belong to
They claim they have delivered my parcel which was worth $650 and small enough to put in your pocket . We have never seen any parcel delivered to us, no one contacted us. I contacted them many times kept passing me to one another ...Daylight thieves!!

I ordered Myer online for a parcel to send to Newsagency and they didn’t deliver there and take it back to their post office n asked me to collect there!
What a LAZY post offer service staff, if Newsagency can’t send why should I buy online !?

Pathetic and terrible service and customer service sucks badly!
I bought a product that has never been delivered. I kept coming to the post office in SURRY HILLS POST SHOP and there's never nothing in there for me. Furthermore, I almost had to beg for the clerk to check if there was something to be delivered to my address/phone number. What happened at the end? They have delivered a notice,late in the afternoon, of the limit day. Obviously I missed the Parcel ! Mediocre service!

They just give the packages to some random person, without know do they live there, or know the receiver.
My fault to not put the unit number in the receiver address but you should bring it back to the post office and call receiver to collect it. Instead of let anyone can have the parcel for saying "Yes someone by that name live here" And they are entering or out the apartment ??? Is a apartment building not a house. How can you go find the person you give the parcel to ?? You don't know it apartment, what are those mailbox does??

Foreign couriers who can't read or speak English
I have noticed Aust Post has largely increased employment with foreigners from a particular country. I don't have a problem with their employment but I do take issue when they're employed to be able to read addresses so they can courier parcels to the correct address. A perfect example was when I posted a parcel to Sydney only to have it couriered to me the next day because the "foreigner" didn't understand the difference between "sender / receiver". Similarly I have had these "same" couriers come and pick up parcels that were incorrectly deliv...ered to me. Like others on this site I am also waiting for my small package from Sydney bought on 6 April which is still missing. I was notified 2 weeks ago by"Benjamin" from help centre who apparently "(I have) met with the driver responsible for the delivery of this item, and after reviewing route and tracking information, they recall that this item was delivered to an incorrect address. We’ve successfully retrieved the item from that address and will redeliver it to you as soon as possible" AND I still DO NOT have it!! I saw a courier in my street two days ago and stopped to ask if my parcel was amongst those. Again with the "same type" of foreigner, I had to repeat three time my address. In the end I just drove off. Aust Post HR manager needs their employment terminated. Your poor hiring strategy is contributing to the overwhelming problems the public have with deliveries (just check out other review sites on Aust Post). Sack human resources and write in the couriers' job description that it is MANDATORY all employers can read fluently and speak English.
Worst service, no help given and threatenning attitude!
Our office located upstairs, down stairs phone number clearly shown in our letter box, but postman just leave a collection note in the letter box, so we have to go to the post office to collect -- Rockdale nsw 2216 Post office, for the company parcel.
Staff and manager ask us to show ID to collect , we gave ID, but said ID address is different from parcel mailing address which is not in our personal ID. We tried several things to evidence that we were the company staff -- showing company bank book with the title; showing pay slip; showing tel...
Can’t even deliver an email. What a joke.
Parcel 10 days sitting in one spot. No update. No movement. Try to enquire with aust post. Need to sign up to their garbage website To make email enquiry. Trying to get them to send verification email 3 times, to post email to them, but their email is a no show! I guess they just turned it off?

Hey, my parcel has been received and ready for processing at the Melbourne airport since the 4th of September with no updated tracking history since. I have lodged a customer enquiry and have had no response from anyone. I have ordered several parcels that have arrived within a week of purchase all in that time of waiting for the original parcel.
