The person who attended was professional
He sorted the issue pretty much straight up but charges were too high compared to others and could have given any discount based on job
Call out was prompt however after less than 20 minutes of work they had replaced the inlet and relief valves on my hot water heater at a cost of $540. Afterwards I checked and the cost of the parts was way below what had been charged and extra labour added.
Great service quick and effecient
Had issue with hot water on Sunday. Made a call to them on Monday noon. Service came to door 2 hours later with new hot water system. Removed my old 315 ltr and replaced with new.
Priced me same as what is advertised on website plus a new valve (180 dollar)
Moorebank branch Wayne def knows what he is doing. Recommended business if you can use this particular branch.
Issue of compliance with Australian Standards
Australian Hot Water supplied and installed a new Rheem Electric water heater at our home in 2011. As far as we were concerned everything was fine and we have had 10 years of reliable performance from the heater. However, we have just had another company in to replace a leaking valve on the unit and they advised that the installation does not comply with Australian Standards that applied at the time. They quoted almost $800 to install a Mains Pressure Tempering Valve and a Duo Valve and Pressure Limiting Valve Combo that they said were requir...ed to bring the installation to the "legally required standard". Subsequently, the Head Office manager of Australian Hot Water requested that I contact him, which I did. He questioned the veracity of the advice I had received. He was adamant that the regulation regarding the tempering valve came into effect in 2012. He undertook to have the Canberra manager contact me and come out to assess the the matter, without a callout charge, which I thought was a very reasonable thing to do, given that this all happened 10 years ago.
Greedy business and ripping off customers
Last Friday my old hot water system was done, so a neighbour recommended this company to me. I have several meetings that day and didn't have time to shop around, and this company was recommended by a neighbour, so I just let them install a new system. It turned out their price is extremely high. I have another neighbour had their hot water system replaced with the same product with the same kind of services on the same day, while their price is $500 cheaper than what I paid to Australian Hot Water.
Very upset and very disappointed with this company. Will never use them again. My friends and neighbours will avoid them from now too.
Overpriced and no adequate post sale assistance
I called them for linkage from pressure valve on my hot water system. Their Inner wast team came quite soon anyway, and they said that it has to replace the pressure valve. They quoted about 390$. 15 minutes work for the pressure valve replacement, which was quoted at almost double of the normal cost, I found later. Anyway after 3 months the new valve had similar problem, so they came Again and they found the new valve was faulty so they changed under warranty. But I had to pay further 180$ for cost of the replacement Even though under warranty.
They use inferior products from Israel like chromagen that don’t last
I had a solar hot water system installed in jan 2014 that cost 3.2K and after only 18 months the tank insert exploded and poured water all over my roof. I had to turn off the water at the main and call a plumber. Greenup or Australian hot water told me to call chromagen myself to get them to replace the tank under warranty. They were unpleasant to deal with and left us with out hot water for several weeks whilst they tried to get out of replacing it. I had 2 young children at home and it was the start of winter. I ended up out of pocket $250 fo...r a crane they insisted on hiring to put it back on my roof and removing the faulty one. I’ve had 2 thermostats replaced also in 3 years and now the new tank that was replaced may 2016 has again exploded and again I find myself without hot water . So don’t trust Australian hot water to give you a good product .,review the products before you let them instal anything and make sure it’s not cheap and nasty. I see chromagen is no longer a brand they promote. So now I have to go without hot water until I can afford to have the crap they installed taken off my roof and pay a small fortune to put In an old reliable electric hot water system and re route all wiring and pipes. Thankyou Australian hot water for absolutely crap service.
Bad Customer Service and overpriced
Our Solar hot water was leaking, they attached a value. The system started leaking again in less than a month. The behaviour of the customer service attendant on the phone was definitely not a pleasant one. I would certainly not recommend them.
Provided extra professional help for something that’s not their fault.
It’s a bit miscommunication to start with Australian hot water Seven Hills. however they in the end provided help free of charge for something that may not be their fault. I bought a house which the building inspector found out gas leaking at inspection, and the previous owner thought there’s gas leaking from the hot water system which was installed by them. They came and inspected the hot water system and signed the paper off on cooling off period. When I moved in, I found out there’s still strong gas leaking from the pipe, however it’s from n...ear gas meter. So I called them and expressed my concern that the gas leaking wasn’t fixed with the misleading that they came for a general gas leaking inspection instead of hot water system only previously. There’s misleading and a bit arguing in that he beginning. However they offered to come fix the gas leak for me the next day free of charge, I was really impressed. I definitely recommend them to everyone I know.
Stay away - ok unless something goes wrong and then they sting you.
I brought a new Rimmi hot water heater just 4 years ago. That was fine, a little on the expensive side but they could replace the same day and I thought they offered a solid warranty if anything went wrong. That’s not the case.
The thermostat broke in the Hot Water Heater. It was at this stage I was informed of all the limits and clauses in my warranty contract. It was really expensive to replace - mainly because of the extortionate call out fee and labour charges.
I will be pursuing action against them eith the ACCC and NSW dept of Fair Trading.
Very overpriced in comparison to smaller businesses
Their quote was at least thirty percent more expensive then their competitors and they would not budge on price. They're only pro is they do all electrical also should that be needed. In short, you're paying a big premium but easier for lazy consumers.
Not impressed with Company
We have a few Rental Properties & had recently changed our Property Manager. Tenant advised no hot water Property Manager organised Aust Hot Water to repair or replace. Tenant moved out after 2 years final Inspection showed Tank Cover (dented) damaged - tenant said the HW tank was already damaged when it was installed )Tank is wall mounted near ceiling). Another tenant advised no HW. Aust Hot Water arrived & New Tank installed. Next day very angry tenant rang no HW - Aust Hot Water installed another New Tank. They said element must be faulty. We informed Property Manager in future always contact the Hot Water Manufacturers (not local Plumbers) for replacement or repair.
Follow up services lousy
Installed the hot water okay but it is almost cold in a Canberra winter and they want to charge a $200 call out fee to adjust it!
NO hot water in the first night of the installation
The company may be good but the plumbers they sent were careless. We did not have hot water at all at first night after installation because they installed that thing inside out. I realised something was not right just in two hours after installation and contacted the company telling them I did not feel warn at all after two hours before 4:30. They told me that I had to wait for 4-5 hours and it was nonsense. Why the plumbers could not wait and test the system properly before they left. Careless!
Continual Cold Showers
Had cold showers since they changed water temperature without my permission.
I wish I never got this installed as I want to have hot showers.
They will not change this.
You should not do things owners have Not Requested.
