The blinds were 15 ml short and they will not replace the blinds. They will not inspect on-site. I would like them to come out and measure. They have refused
Bad Australian company with disgraceful customer service and bad ethics. Have been dealing with them since Dec19 I hav Plantation shutters in my house with some form of damage to all of them Lies lies lies is all you will get from them and broken promises. Price is not everything stay away
Still awaiting a shutter from August 2019 custom colour no one in management will return my call or refund my money they can’t tell me where my order is or when it will be ready ... take your hard earned dollars elsewhere

I am sorry I ever dealt with this company. It is not possible to detail all the things that went wrong during my dealings with APP, however, it was a stressful and expensive experience. I would never recommend them to anyone.
Terrible Service and Ethics
I would not recommend using this Company after the very bad experience we encountered. They insisted on a 50% deposit and promised the shutters would be ready in around 6 weeks. This turned out to be more than 4 months and the order turned out to be wrong. When trying to sort the matter out they were evasive and didn't want to know about it. We are very dissatisfied and can only say that we should have taken note of the other negative reviews about this company.
Not the easiest to deal with
Had the misfortune to engage them to provide some additional shutters for our property. To be fair, once in, shutters look and perform fine. The big issue however is overall business practice and some staff who are simply rude. For them to commit to install of product you have to pay them in full. In our case they asked for full payment one month before they were planning to schedule install. No payment no install, "refer their terms and conditions" we were told. After a fair bit of discussion ended up paying full amount 1 week prior to schedul...ed install basically to make it happen and move on. Then 2 days out from scheduled install we were told they had not even made up our shutters due to "supply issues" and there would be a delay of another week. Here is business seeking up front full payment one month out from supposed install but who are only going to make up the order 1 or 2 days out from the actual install. We were told, when the full payment was initially sought that our Order had in fact been made and money just required to complete install arrangements.After some full and frank discussion our shutters were installed 3 days later than originally scheduled. Given time over would steer clear of Australian Plantation Shutters, something not right with them.
Not happy shutters
The first time i ordered the shutters for my bedroom was good then i thought i would order more shutters for two more rooms and one in hallway well when i got them the one in the hallway didn't fit and i couldn't open it i thought great then the two other rooms they got the measurement wrong and the frames was to big so now i have one room one size and the other two rooms a different size the measurer got it very wrong. Now they tell to fix the two rooms fixed i will have to pay more money they said it wasnt their problem . I will never deal with them again . I think they have gone down hill since i got the first lot of shutters.
Shutters Good, Customer Service Terrible
I wish we had read the reviews before we contacted APS Thornton. We have been dealing with them for the past 10 months. We had a quote for 3 shutters in February. Deposit paid and then a check measure done. That was when our trouble started. The quote said 2 panels in the spare room, but when the check measure was done we were told we had to have 3 panels as was in PVC. When the quote was done we were not told this. The one good thing to come out of this was the owner said we could have that window shutter in aluminium to keep the 2 panels...at no extra cost. From then on the customer service was non-existent. No one ever rang us back when I enquired how our order was going. I must have made over 20 calls through out the 10 months. In June APS rang to say they would install one shutter. I asked about the outer 2 shutters. They didn't know anything about them but would find out and ring me back. As usual no one rang back. After several more phone calls, decided to go to Thornton to get some answers. Eventually we were told the other 2 shutters were not ordered. It was only after we spoke to the office the order was placed. I know these things can happen, but if APS had been up front with us we would have understood. We had one shutter installed in August and the other 2 in September. Some of the slats had to be replaced and that was another two months. We must say the installers were very professional and very helpful. If only the office staff were the same. So happy this is over. They want your money but after that the communication is non-existent. I would never recommend Australian Plantation Shutters. Make sure you get everything in writing and make them stick to it .This is a shame because the shutters look good, but we should not have had the trouble we did.
Total frustration - no result
I wish I'd seen this website before I contracted with APS to install a motorised folding-arm awning. Would have saved weeks/months of frustration for no result, despite having paid a $1000.00 upfront deposit in the first week of May. APS under-quoted according to a staff member so did not want to proceed with the contract. Attempts to speak to management over several weeks got nowhere, as messages were taken but never a return call.Complaint now lodged with Fair Trading (to whom APS are well known) to try to recover my deposit. The one thing I...could say about APS is they somehow manage to survive in being totally incompetent with woeful customer service. Maybe holding on to customers' deposits while providing no service is the key to their survival. I strongly urge any prospective customer to look elsewhere - the 50% "discount" is a furphy!
Shutters are fabulous it’s a shame about the service
I would like to express how happy Daniel and I are with our APS Shutters, They are brilliant and worth every cent. I have told everyone that will listen how great shutters are and well worth the cost.

These were quoted measured and ordered along side t...he shutters, however 2 days prior to installation on 31st of May, I was called by APS and notified that the Rollers would not be installed with the Shutters as I had not chosen a Fabric type and colour. (Might I add that at no time during measure and quote was I notified that this needed to be done). I organized to call into your Thornton showroom and choose the Fabric type and colour on the coming Monday the 4th of June. Upon arrival at your Thornton showroom I was greeted by 2 ladies at your front counter after they finished they’re conversation and taken out the back to a coffee table loaded down with fabric samples and told to choose one and let them know when I was finished. I was given zero help or advise and left to make the decision on my own. I found this extremely unprofessional and resulted in me making a rushed overwhelmed decision. I made my choice went back to the counter and was asked to make a Chain choice which I did then advised of the Fabric choice and left. The only thing I was told was the someone would be in contact with me soon to arrange install.
Worst customer service
My recommendation is to NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE go through Australian Plantation Shutters. They lure you in with 50% off but that because there original price is often 50% more expensive than everybody else.
They then cannot complete two panels per standard window and therefore have to complete 3 panels meaning you have a panel showing your windows middle framework.
They have the WORST communication in the world. They told me in the showroom 6weeks from check measure. What they failed to mention is it could take up to 6 weeks for the...m to come and do a check measure. After finally booking check measure they did not come out and told me someone had been there and knocked on the door and nobody was home. Then they booked the same person to come out and he had to ring me to get directions to my house - umm sorry I thought you had already been to my house? And I apparently wasn’t home...
What ever you do do not get anything through them.

Damage caused by tradespeople not repaired & all communication totally ignored by the company
Their van scratched my concrete sprayed driveway. So dishonest are they that they started the job without telling me. Numerous emails and phonecalls have not been responded to. I am absolutely disgusted with this company and have lodged a complaint with the Dept of Fair Trading. That is how they treat clients. Also they insist on payment in full before they install but I had to wait over 3 months for the product and when they take full payment nothing can be held back as I am now facing $1600 in repair fees for the driveway. The shutter...s are wonderful and it is nothing short of disappointing that they would treat me in this way. July 23rd 2018 Update: Damaged driveway 3 months later This company has still not repaired my driveway. Damaged was caused May 7, I have photos, admission of liability and emails promising that it would be repaired. I believe being an old lady on my own this represents an example of the MeToo Movement. I cannot think of any other explanation of why they would treat a customer in this way. The matter is in the hands of Fair Trading, will also go to Community Justice and then to court. Perhaps they do not carry insurance as it should have been a straight forward public liability claim?

This company stinks! Don’t make the mistake I did, spend a little extra money and get your shutters from a business who values their customers. The exact things others in this forum explained happened to me. Try threatening them with action from fair trading, they don’t care and have obviously had lots of experience dealing with them. I’ve been waiting 6mths for damage to my house to be repaired only to be given excuses. Totally unprofessional.

I have contacted your company about my shutter today only to be told that they don’t know how long it will be or who has it and I don’t see how hard it would be to contact the third party involved and asked where my order is .. estimated finish time and relay this information back to me .. your continual lack of professionalism astounds me with no managers able to call me .. wish I had never used this company sue
I assume you have paid a deposit which you don’t want to lose. If you are able to carry the loss I would advise you to go elsewhere for your shutters.
