Leaks and slow to dry
I purchased 3 all-in-ones in Oct-2019. Initially my (then) 3 month old wet through them very fast. We would need to change his outfit and nappy within 45min. As he begun eating solids this problem lessened, but we still use these nappies as the last resort when all other brands are in the wash. This is for a number of reasons: 1) we still need to change it after an hour or so to avoid major leakage; 2) they seem to leak from the sides where there is only felt and no absorbent material: 3) the bamboo inserts are dense and stay very moist nex...t to his skin unlike other bamboo inserts we use; and 4) they take forever to dry after the wash. These nappies can sit on the line for two loads of other MCNs just to get to the point of being dry. We have used other Baby Beehinds products and been really happy with them, so I'm surprised this poor design hasn't got more negative feedback. But maybe they are just the wrong match for my little guy's bottom!
Purchased in October 2019 at Baby Beehinds for $23.20.
Absorbent but bulky and slow drying
I thought these would be wonderful given the reviews but I'm not that happy. They are SO bulky! I didn't put them on my daughter until she was 6.8kg. The bamboo is lovely and absorb a lot. Definitely need a cover which adds to bulk.
the bamboo is beautiful and tge soak up a lot!
bamboo takes a long time to dry so buy more to rotate. they are very bulky plus they need a cover.
Lovley and absorbant
We have two of these nappies and are full time cloth nappy users. My daughter was 4kg at birth and I found that although we could make these fit they didn't hold anything in. From about 6-8kg they were fantastic, and now she is 10kg we are only just squeezing her into them.
The major plus is that they are super absorbant, we generally use them at night. I also love that they require a cover as we have found that with all in one nappies the waterproofing makes for rashes and also makes her smelly (I discovered why people use fragranced baby ...wipes instead of a bit of water on a cloth). I find with a wool cover these nappies are great. Design wise, apart from the small size, I am pretty happy with these nappies although when she was younger we did giver her sore inner thighs wearing her in the baby carrier in these (and other MCN's) with the elasticised legs digging into her and rubbing. I also wonder if the plastic press studs are comfortable to lie upon and use both boosters to cushion them. Fantastic, but should be labelled as Medium rather than One Size Fits All Too small sizing
I don't mind having a few of these in my stash, but I wouldn't buy them again. They're far too bulky, and it's hard to get a good fit on my daughter.
hardwearing. bamboo. the brand. can get these pretty cheaply on special or second hand. one size fits all. good quality
fabric, bulk and fit.
For the price, they are a good, reliable, easy to use nappy. BabyBeeHinds are a great company and I would recommend all of their products.
I wasn't a fan of fitted nappies and cover in the end so there are better options (for us) out there.
Easy to use. Good fit. Very absorbent.
Overall good fitted nappy
They become 'crunchy' over time and don't feel so nice.
The elastic does go in them but you get a fair bit of life out of them.
As they are a snap nappy, sometimes it is hard to get a good fit and they weren't good for my skinny legged baby until she got a lot bigger
If you live somewhere where there is plenty of water these might be OK, but I simply did not feel that it was appropriate to use them and have reverted to eco-friendly disposables. In addition I just didn't find them to be working very well at all.
- They look cute
- They make you feel as though you are being environmentally friendly
- I found these nappies to be useless in terms of not leaking. My son does wee a lot, and the nappies couldn't contain it overnight at all despite boosters which made him look utterly ridiculous his bottom was s...
Before buying this nappy I did a lot of research and careful consideration on what I wanted from a cloth nappy. Baby beehinds have a great reputation and 95% of the users (Australian & international) have had very positive experiences and particular praise was the absorbency & natural bamboo material. Unfortunately, I belong to the 5% of users who did share the experiences with the majority. I hated the fact that my bub's bottom was so padded up it was like a ball, also that the moisture was against his skin - though I'll try a fleece liner ...as I've read this really helps to wick moisture. Now I'm into BumGenius and LOVE them, they wick moisture, is as easier to use, quick dry, much trimmer than babybeehinds and changes are quicker due to no separate cover/nappy system Vibrant choice of colours, made from bamboo which is environmentally friendly and natural fiber on my bub, fantastic customer service - a dream to deal with! The bamboo doesn't wick moisture and is very bulky. Need to team this nappy up with a cover which adds to the bulk
We use a couple of these as night nappies and they are very absorbent. But the rise is very low on my baby and while he's tall, he's certainly not off the scale. And I tend to find the legs are tight while the waist gapes a little, as I can only get the waist done up on the very last snap. Most other nappies in my stash fit well, so I think it's the cut of these rather than the shape of my child. I would not buy more, as they just don't fit my child well.
Very absorbent, cute colours.
A low rise, an odd fit on my baby, would prefer velcro instead of snaps for a better fit.
I purchased 3 of these nappies before my daughter was born with the intention of getting more once I had trialled them on her. However I could never get a good fit and have found my square terry toweling nappies to be far easier to use. I also purchased a number of bamboo booster squares from babybeehinds that I use all the time and find to be excellent.
Bamboo is super soft and absorbent.
No matter how many times I have tried over the last 9 months I can not get these nappies to fit my daughter. They are too loose and or tight in all the wrong places. She is on the small side for her age but I would not say she is an unusaul shape.
For ease and comfort I would stick to a pocket nappy, but if you want a bamboo nappy that is super breathable and absorbent this is a good option for overnight, but not really for going out unless you have a huge bag.
They are breathable, which means less nappy rash.
Because they use inserts, rather than a pocket, if the baby does a big poo that gets outside the liner, it gets caught on the sides and in between the layers. Also when you hold it over the toilet to spray it off (we had a little squirt) the layers often fall into the toilet, becau...
Pretty good nappy, lasts and lasts there for value for money. they do stain making them look a bit manky. Sometimes hard to get as they are very popular. when they have a wee i them they go particularlly hard which i wouldnt imagin would be very comfy. Because of the bright colours and bulkyness they can be seen under clothes. eg have to wear a larger size trousers to accomodate the nappy. Other wise very happy. Little tip never leave them wet they disintergrate after a while!
Great, doesn't leak, doesn't hold smell, one size fits most!
stains easily. Elastic in legs "goes".
They are a great nappy, but as time goes on I wonder whether they are really for us ? In the early days when bub wasn't a super soaker there was no problems AT ALL. But now, after 6 months or more of use, they just don't seem to be doing the job as good as I expect them to. Don't know whether to sell up now and try something else, or just keep going with them through to toilet training.
One Size Fits Most
Great choice of colours
THE BEST nappy at containing explosive poos
Great night time nappy
Great Customer Service
I love the feel of the nappy and the fact that they are environmentally friendly. However it doesn't look all that comfortable as with all the booster it doesn't look like my son can move much at all, on top of that I'm finding I have to wake him up sometimes halfway through his sleep to do a change to prevent another wet bed and I use the PUL liner. I find we get more nappy rash with the cloth nappy than we do with the disposables also.
One size fits all making them quit economical.
You seem to have to do double or triple the amount of changes than you do in dispossables and thats with all of the boosters in the nappy.
Questions & Answers
Hi! I bought some second hand bamboo fitted nappies through the Facebook group but they feel different to the one I already have. Was there a change in the production process through the years? Both say bamboo fitted OSFM with same % composition. The most recent ones feel more 'fleecy' inside and out, touch softer and has pilling whereas my other one feels more absorbent, you can see the weave, is a touch stiffer and has no piling. Could the fleecy one be an older style? Thanks
