Good all round nappy
Very absorbant and rarely leaks.
Didn’t fit well when my son was very small but from about 3months onwards it has fit well.
Easy to snap in the inserts.
This nappy needs a nappy cover.
Affordable in price.
They take a very long time to dry. All day in the sun or if it’s a damp day they don’t dry that day.
They are bulky too so my son always needs bigger clothes on over the top of these.
Used for 2 kids
I've used these for both my kids with minimal issues. Hubby and I like them - they are good at keeping poos in and usually off the covers. We put extra inserts in if we are going out for a while, which seems to make them last longer than most nappies incl. disposables. On the second kid, one is starting to tear but it has had a hard life and the rest are fine.
Just some tips:
- Do wash a few times before use (same for second hand or if they haven't been worn for a year)
- Get good covers (I'm not too fond of bbh covers, the more expensive ...
No nappy rash, can go from tiny babies, but my daughter grew out of them before she was toilet train
I had a big daughter, and she has grown out of these nappies before she was toilet trained (and is a late bloomer for toilet training to boot) but from 0 to 2 years, she was in these. They are very very absorbent, and we had no leakage. However, nappy liners (the cheap Woolworths home brand) are needed for solid wastes to minimise the yuk. The money we saved from these - they paid for themselves by 3 months age of my daughter, compared to disposables, even if you include the dryer costs. Drying them on the line makes them a bit brittle, but ca...n be overcome with 15 minutes in the dryer before putting out on the line. We likes the bamboo multisized ones with the separate cover the most, they aren't hard to put on - and trust me you will get lots of practice! Soft, no nappy rash, inexpensive If you have a big 2 year old, prepared to move to disposables.
Great Nappies - absorbent and no nappy rash!
We bought a stash of these before my son was born, as I loved the idea of natural bamboo (antibacterial and absorbent) material and a nappy that would last until he was older. Overall our experience with these nappies has been fantastic! They have never leaked, and our baby has never had a nappy rash in them! They come with two snap-in inserts (one small and one long) and initially I was using them with just the long one folded in half as our baby is a heavy wetter. I found them to be too bulky on our newborn (who weighed just over 3kgs) and re...stricted his leg movement especially as they require a cover (one friend commented that he looked like a roast chicken!). However I found that all one-size nappies were bulky on our newborn. Now our son weighs just over 5kgs and I have tried them again, just using the smaller insert, and they fit better (even with the PUL cover) - so much so that I ordered a few more! The nappies take a few washes to become fully absorbent, but this is the case with all bamboo nappies and (as stated in another review) the inserts seem to become fully soaked before the rest of the nappy does. Having just come through a wet winter, I have always tumble dried these, then hung them on a clothes horse as they never come out of the dryer with the elastic fully dry. The nappies are still in great condition after constantly being in the dryer, although they become a bit stiff after washing (scrunching makes them soft again). I also found these to be inexpensive considering how long they should last and baby beehinds are a pleasure to deal with. Overall, these are a great nappy that I'm sure will last a long time! Reliable, super absorbent, don't leak, great bamboo material, inexpensive bulky on a newborn baby
These are one of my favourite brands of nappies, I have tried quite a lot and these lasted well until my kids outgrew them at about 1 year. The quality from baby beehinds is excellent, and they currently come in a few extra limited edition colours. These will definitely save you some money if you are committed to using them.
Come in a variety of fabrics, fit baby through months/years because they sized from newborn to 15 kgs. Are great value for money and I have found the baby beehinds customer service is excellent
They probably won't actually fit your baby to 15kgs, I found my kids outgrew them around 11kgs.
I'm really impressed with these nappies. My daughter has been wearing them since she was a week old, and we've never had any problems. Having to use a cover is occasionally a hassle, and their trickier to use for grandparents who aren't used to them, but it's totally worth it for a nappy that's kind to baby and very economical.
Have never had a leak using these nappies. Fit well, are very soft and fit baby for long time. Easy to wash.
A bit bulky and fiddly to begin with, and extra cover can be a slight hassle - but worth it.
Husband hated it , refused to use it, found it was bulky, between the legs, took 2 days to dry !!!
The colour range was good, it seems to small to fit a toddler so I found it a waste of money, good thing was I could sell it off easily.
not a lot to be honest
bad fit on my newborn was so bulky he was bow legged, complicated to learn to use
Really like them, esp. for naps/long sleeping stretches and paired with a wool cover. No leaks. I guess they are "bulky" but that is of no concern to me or my babies so no complaints there. They line dry quite quickly for me. Really happy with them overall.
have lasted several years and children--washed and worn well. Very absorbent and the snap in boosters mean they wash up and dry quite well. they snap down to a very small size.
I haven't found them AS great once baby gets bigger/on last snap setting--they don't seem to be as long fitting as some other one size fits most nappies.
I tried using these nappies when I first brought my newborn home but they were so big and bulky I ended up using disposables. When I went back to these reusable cloth nappies several months later I was hoping they would be usable but then I still found them to be bulky and they leaked repeatedly, so I ended up selling them on Ebay. While they luckily do have a good resale value, I decided to ditch the idea of using cloth not long after.
Not many, they leak a lot.
Leak too often and very bulky on little babies. Not worth the cost.
These nappies are great, really absorbent and easy to clean. I prefer to use them on days when we aren't leaving the house as they aren't as snug and cute as the sized nappies. They can be a bit complicated to put together, but it's easy once you get the hang of it.
Very absorbent, never had any leaks. Can increase the absorbency by adding boosters which is good for night time use or for heavy wetters. Saves money in the long run as one size fits most. Bamboo is nice and soft. Easy to clean.
Can take a while to dry. Doesn't look as cute as the ...
These are a brilliant overnight nappy, I've never had a leak from one (using mostly wool covers overnight/PUL during the day). They are a little bit bulky and give a mushroom butt appearance, but didn't seem to bother my baby at all, in fact having a rounded butt helped her to roll more easily, which makes her happy. The bamboo is really nice and soft, and although it takes a fair while to dry, is not too bad.
Lovely and soft and SO super absorbent
Slightly bulky, particularly on newborns, takes quite a long time to dry, have to use a cover.
I would not recommend these nappies. They just repeatedly leaked when I used them and ended up causing a lot of extra washing. I just could not rely on them to work even though I liked the look and feel of them. They also look very bulky on.
The nappies look and feel nice while on and wash really well, retaining their colour and look. Are made of good fabrics and dry very quickly.
I tried these nappies with my baby but they did not fit very well until he was several months old and then repeatedly leaked so I ended up sending them back to the store and getting a refund. The amount of washing required is also a pain when you have a new baby in the household.
I would recommend these nappies over the hemp ones for absorbency. They high absorbency makes them very slow to dry although it gets easier in summer. Five minutes in the dryer after taking them off the line makes them all nice and fluffy. I found them a bit bulky on my baby when he was very small, because of this I started using them more when he was about 2 months old. I only use the Bamboo nappies for night time and use a more compact terry fitted nappy with a booster or a regular flat nappy in the day for a better fit.
This is a great absorbent night time nappy. Good adjustable fit and I like that you can move the absorbency to where it's needed.
It takes a long time to dry
I have now been using this nappy extensively for 16 months in what most would consider a small stash. While showing some signs of wear, it continues to go strong. Signs of wear would indicate this nappy won't make it through more than one or two babies and would need to replaced on the second - still a great saving when you look at the cost of disposables. This one does not last overnight anymore - since around 12months, even with a wool cover/soaker.
Still fits at 16 months on an average sized bub - there was a point that I thought it might no...
These are great nappies, but they are so expensive to purchase I would be certain that you are going to use cloth nappies before spending the money.
A very neat cloth nappy, and just about anyone can figure it out. Great if you are using cloth and the person babysitting is scared they won't be able to do it. I found these easier to put on at night time, when I'm tired, than any other type of nappy, even a disposable. I also love the bright colours.
Not quite as absorbent as I would have liked. Don't get me wrong I love this nappy, but would still like it to be more absorbent. It can also be a pain having to use a nappy cover too. Also these nappies are quite expensive. It isn't preferable to soak the nappies.
Questions & Answers
Hi! I bought some second hand bamboo fitted nappies through the Facebook group but they feel different to the one I already have. Was there a change in the production process through the years? Both say bamboo fitted OSFM with same % composition. The most recent ones feel more 'fleecy' inside and out, touch softer and has pilling whereas my other one feels more absorbent, you can see the weave, is a touch stiffer and has no piling. Could the fleecy one be an older style? Thanks
