Pressure cooker that isn't

Purchased new from Robins Kitchen. A complete waste of money. Pressure cookers work by increasing the pressure within, so as to raise the cooking temperature somewhat above the 100 degrees C of boiling water. This one has an inbuilt temperature display. It has two "pressure" settings. On one, it reaches 100 degrees C. On the other it reaches 101 degrees C. (And we are at sea level, for anyone who understands the implications of this). As such, it makes a rather expensive saucepan. Come to think of it, you would achieve as much by leaving the lid on your saucepan, and using that. Show details

Questions & Answers

It seems to me that all the poor reviews come from people who don't realise that this is a LOW PRESSURE cooker. It's meant to balance the pressure so you can remove lid at any time with safety. It apparently cooks food in half the time of a regular saucepan, but not as fast as a standard Pressure cooker. I just read the product description...
