Worst customer service!!
I bought a pack of bacon and cheese rolls and some dinner rolls just before closing and absentmindedly walked away and left them. The next morning I went to collect them but was told they were thrown out and too bad. On contacting head office they apologised for the terrible treatment and offered to send a voucher to my home address. 3 weeks later it hadn’t arrived and so I contacted them again to say it had been sent and check with my neighbour’s and too bad! I have a locked letterbox so that was a lie.
I will NEVER EVER shop here again, the absolute worst customer service.

OMG the flies!
Flies walking all over the bread in and out of the cupboards. Why do they not cover their bread for sale??? YUK! This is a serious Health Issue. I walked right out.

I simply love their healthy breads!
The staff always greet you with a big smile and the bakery food tastes amazing. I like the range they have to offer their customers as well. The bakers are amazing at baking.

Rude Franchise Manager & Poor Product Quality - Airport West
I was spoken to like absolute trash by the Franchise Manager of this store. After raising a complaint to Head Office about the Margherita Pizza being too hard and the Apple and Cinnamon Hot Cross Buns tasting dry as well as a poor customer experience, I was told they would relay this to the Franchise Manager and arrange for a refund. I was asked to return the product which I was more than happy to do. In returning back to the store later in the afternoon, the staff had no idea what the issue was and the call was escalated to the Franchise Manag...Read more
er who basically shouted at me over the phone confirming that I had already eaten some when in actual fact, a number of people I was with for morning tea took a single bite from 3 hot cross buns out of 12 which remain uneaten. She already was of the opinion her products were perfectly fine and insinuated that I was after a refund despite consuming the product which in most parts, was not the case at all. She referred to the staff member who I dealt with in Head Office in having no stake in their business and what they have to say is irrelevant and she won’t provide a refund. She treated me like a cheapskate and so I left the store and threw out all of them. I’ve since received a response from Head Office advising me “I have spoken with the Franchisee of the bakery who has advised me that on inspecting the product you returned he could not find any issue with it”. This is awkward seeing that I hadn’t even returned it! Just goes to show how quick they are to deflect and cover up. I will never look at Baker’s Delight Hot Cross Buns the same and will be sure to let everyone I know in the community to never support this store.Similar opinion? Have had better days
My review of Bakers delight is mixed..there are 2 bakers delight in my area that make a consistently good range of excellent bread...the pasta dura in particular is consistent and very good quality at these 2 bakeries..even though the price has increased the quality has remained. One local branch in a major shopping centre also makes pasta dura that is best described as rubber like and about 20% smaller than the product of another branch just up the road. I recently took photographs of the bread and size of the colour of the bread, and took it ...Read more
up with Bakers Delight Management. In 2 weeks i got promises of a reply but didnt get a formal response as to why the product quality was so different from another baker just up the road who gets it right. I fully understand that shops in major shopping centres get no respite from excessive rents and they only ever go up year after year, but dropping the product quality and size will eventually catch up. Even though Bakers delight are all supposed to make the same products taste the same, my experience is that there is wide variation in consistency.1 comment

contaminated bread
I found a black lump in a white loaf at the end of December. I took it back to the bakery but got no call back from the store manager nor did I get a response from my subsequent website complaint. I'd love to know what the lump is as I'd eaten half the loaf before finding the contamination.

Loaves are now smaller but cost extra!
Have been buying BD for some time now and I’m tired of the loaves getting smaller and more expensive!! If you want people to buy your bread make it more attractive to the buyer!!! Go back to the original bigger size and price and you might sell more, Woolies and Coles are much cheaper. The amount made everyday is also too much, by 5 pm it looks like more than half is leftover which I know is tossed out. What a waste.

Bakers Delight - Ocean Keys
I have been buying bread from Bakers Delight in Clarkson for the past three years. I wonder why I left it so long before changing. The bread is rarely cooked. It is half raw and has to be peeled off the next slice. I was buying the High Tin Loaf for the past two years, but not only did I have the half cooked problem, but sometimes it would fit in the toaster and others it wouldn't. The baking is wholly inconsistent.
Today was the final straw. I bought some lemon tarts. The pastry tastes and feels like it has never seen an oven. It ta...Read more
stes and feels like it has been left out to dry and then put on the shelves. While the lemon curd was delicious, the pastry was vile. I just can't bring myself to shop at this franchise any longer. Too much money has been spent on disgusting products.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Staff are mistreated
I used to work here and get regular customers. Sometimes people would complain the bread isn't well done or its become hard (its due to being left in an open counter) . The bread is overpriced and staff are underpaid. I think its really sad that people don't know the reality that most girls leave within 3 months because of how poorly they are treated. The owners are extremely rude and Im sure have been spoken to fair work only to ignore them because they think they have all the power. Its a sad reality of Bakers Delight.

Stale bread at least 2 days old
I am so angry ,sent my husband to Bakers Delight Rozelle to. make sandwiches that night for the next morning to travel with. Stale as anything ,and not only that they charged an extra 50c ,now $4.50 a loaf. If you want fresh bread , dont go there.

Parkholme Adelaide Bakers Delight
Have bought bread on two occasions from this bakery and each time the bread is stale. I suspect they hold the bread over a couple of days and do not bake freshly. If this is not bad enough one of the staff is rude. Would give this bakery less than 1 star if possible.

Kenmore Bakers Delight is awesome
Always pop in there on the way to work to have a quick squiz at the fresh buns behind the counter. Staff are always happy for me to have a look and I always get something sweet to go.

Gluten free bread experiment
I was thrilled to know that Bakers' Delight were going to trial gluten free bread at a few outlets. I picked up a seeded loaf at Southland, Melbourne. It was $10 for the loaf which is on the high side but I hoped it would be worth it. Well, the first thing I noticed was that it held together very well - an improvement on many GF breads. It also has good sized pieces. My husband says that it doesn't have, what he considers, the unpleasant smell when toasted although I have never noticed this problem. But the drawback is that it doesn't have any taste whatsoever. It is very bland which is a disappointment. I won't buy it again but I appreciate Bakers' Delight in trying to produce GF bread. Hopefully, it will improve over time.

No delight in this scone
I have been buying the date scones for many years. I have watched as they have got smaller with fewer dates & the price go up. Today is the last time I will waste my money on a Scone that looks so un eatable. This was purchased from Eastland bakers delight no delight for me.

Good product range, customer service is just ok
I have found the product range extensive, fresh tasting and nice flavours. Prices are not bad, a little more than bread brands from supermarkets but at least all baked goods are baked fresh that day. I've tried a few products from the front counter, both sweet and savoury baked goods - also nice.
However, recently I visited the Warnbro store in WA, and I wanted to order a rye bread loaf that my local store didn't have, the customer service was ok, but the staff are young, look slightly disinterested in helping a consumer like me make an inform...Read more
ed choice, and they don't have knowledge of things like what Low GI means or understand the nutritional values, so a bit of training in dietary knowledge will be beneficial. All I wanted was a bread loaf recommendation suitable for diabetics. As an aside, I find that the website is misleading displaying the products are available without spexifying the product range is variable in relation to the demographic/market, but when going to some stores, some products do not get sold, for example, a loaf of bread I wanted. To me, I'd assume the entire range is sold in every store Australia wide, but I was told if I want something specific, I'd need to call the head office before visiting. Maybe the website can have a customised inventory based on each store, ie. "Sorry, this product is out of stock" or "not sold here, click here for your nearest store selling this item", etc...Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Coffee & Date Log
I have bought the coffee and date log from Beaumaris City Shopping Centre today. I was very disappointed as it was completely burnt. When I opened the bag, I could smell the burnt smell and that you couldn't taste the coffee at all.

Custard Scroll
This is the second time in a space of two weeks that I’ve bought my favourite scroll from Bakers Delight Leichhardt in the Norton Street Plaza. Both times I’ve been very disappointed with the custard scrolls. They seem to be more coconut icing on top with less to almost no custard inside. I’ll give the Leichhardt shop a miss from now on.

Ridiculous loyalty program - Essendon
Attended Essendon store and tried to use the loyalty card for block loaf sesame. Was told block loaf on the card doesn’t have sesame - so you can’t have it, only plain. Despite being comparable cost. Staff was very belittling and aggressive when refusing to honour card.
When complaint was made to head office about the treatment - they denied it even happened. Implying someone would make this storey up for the sake of a $4 loaf.
Pathetic

Questions & Answers
Deniseasked
Last Friday at my local store I purchased a coffee (and date?) bun and took it home to eat later. It was the most delicious thing I had eaten for quite a while so the following day I returned to purchase half a dozen (to give to my family to try.) I was informed that it was a one day promotion and that the store would not be making them any more. Please, please, please could I implore you to add these to your menu as they are delicious. I am not a regular customer per se but could be if you were to add these (if not daily perhaps bi-daily?) I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Denise
As Bakers Delights are all individually owned you would need to contact your local store directly to discuss this.
Different stores make different product lines so you could check other Bakers Delight stores to see if they make it.. and yes they are very yummy!
Hope this is of some help

I have read some other reviews where Bakers Delight have told them to go back to the bakery management and resolve..i think it is Bakers delight management responsibility to deal with inferior products. I went to great trouble to supply photos of the poor quality bread against photos of the same type of bread from another Bakers delight where you could clearly see the difference..no acknowledgement.
