Love my bank.
Have been with this bank for just over a year and love it. Simple apps and an excellent online interface means that I can manage my money really easily - and I know that it is being used in an ethical way.
Just took out a home loan with them and I couldn't fault them. Outstanding customer service from the Fitzroy branch - thank you James!

Great customer service and was very fast with opening my new acc.
I have now been to the branch and twice I have had to be serviced by two staff. Once to do a cash deposit then another to do a transfer. I find that very inconvenient and not what used to happeN. I also feel uncomfortable with how I am approached. I am heading to the usual counter to have someone at what was the enquirers counter call out to ask if they can help. If you have changed how you serve customers I suggest you remodel the branch, educate your customers to what to expect. I still expect to only be served by one staff member. The staff were polite and courteous
Friendly and efficient customer service for my home loan application
I have been a customer with Bank Aus for almost two years. I approached BankAus is because of their competitive home loan rates. Brad and Renee (BankAus Canberra branch) have been very helpful and efficient in managing our home loan application, approval, and final settlement (in a short amount of time I could say). I especially commend on their friendliness also to answer to my repeated queries as I am a first home owner also. Highly recommended!!
Loan Application review
Very prompt response times to emails and calls during application process by Brad Day. Credit department added 2 or 3 things to obtain towards the end of the application process which could have been requested at the start. Suggest 'one big list' is sent to applicants so there isn't the back and forth towards the backend of the application process, that would speed up the process by a week or two. Brad was calm and never lost patience with all the queries.

Our customer experience was very positive and gave us much thought for future dealings with this bank, due to our meeting with Bradley Day yesterday. Our meeting was very encouraging - Brad gave no glib promises, and provided straight answers to our questions.

Better than the big banks
Customer service has been excellent - clear and quick communication and processing throughout our home loan application and online savings account. We havent had to compromise on anything with Bank Australia

We are building a new home in the South West of W.A and applied online for a home loan with Bank Australia. The service so far has been incredible and communicating with Bank Australia from another state has been made very easy. All matters relating to our loan have been dealt with immediately and with the friendly, professional courtesy you would expect. I have passed on our experience with Bank Australia to friends and colleagues. I would highly recommend them to anybody seeking a Bank which values it customers and to date they have delivered exceptional service. Bank Australia has taken away one less stress of building.
A human bank
We recently moved to bankAustralia from a big4. They have been a great to deal with throughout, with an actual human being whenever needed. Also offered the best rate for good / comparable product, plus community / environmentally minded. It’s still a bank (so complex processes). But Recommend you give them a try.
Service at Fitzroy branch.
I have been with Bank Australia for many years ( before it changed its name to Bank Australia ). I have always been happy with the bank but especially so this week. I went to the Brunswick St. branch to organise a bpay transaction. The teller Michelle was so helpful. She put the banks app onto my mobile, completed the bpay transaction to the ato for me and told me about the banks travel card facility and travel insurance. I always go to that location and they are always so helpful and easy to communicate with. Thank you Michelle. And she seems to be a lovely person to boot. Also, l like the banks ads that l see at the cinema and on tv. Only point of criticism might be the narrator should have an Australian accent.
Difficult to have confidence
I wanted to work with Bank Australia on my refi, both because of the rate and their ethical banking principles. Upon going through approvals I received the contracts to sign, and the bank had entered the wrong street address across the documents. This is after valuation was done on the correct property. It's an astounding mistake to make on a legal document with a lot of zeroes, and has deflated my confidence in risk management processes and staff training at the bank. I really wanted to do this transaction, but I've just lost confidence that the processes are in place to manage something of such personal importance.
What a disaster
We recently helped our daughter secure her first home loan. Our initial meetings with the loans people at the Bendigo branch were very positive but when the time came to purchase the house it all went pear shaped. Every second day on a 30 day settlement they needed something, ok fair enough, but we all work and in a no phone policy workplace it became very drawn out and stressful. Eventually I went over Bendigo’s head and complained loudly, it was then and only then that something was done. We became priority and we made our deadline. My daughter rang the Bendigo Branch at one stage and was spoken to quite sarcastically and rudely causing more unnecessary upset. I know new lending guide lines have put pressure on banks but please do not pass this onto your customers
We do not live in Bendigo, we stayed with Bank Australia after a branch closure in our town and they usually meet all needs but this time they failed badly.
HL Refinance, low rate
Refinanced HL and extra funds for renovation. Applied online, Michelle and Tanya in Townsville were great. The process was quick, they kept me informed and everything has gone very smoothly. Thank you.
Great staff at Townsville Branch of Bank Australia
Bank Australia was recommended by my son who had transferred his accounts there because Bank Australia is an ethical bank. I lodged an online inquiry wanting to do the same. I was fortunate that the Townsville, Qld branch of Bank Australia was tasked with responding. The staff at this branch were so helpful. Everyone from the branch manager to other staff members assisted with the process - re-financing, opening accounts, internet banking - from beginning to end and even after that. Great team in Townsville and everywhere else from my experience having had to ring elsewhere through the process. Good on ya, Bank Australia. Australians need a bank like this especially after the findings of the Royal Commission on Banks.

Terribly disappointed in this bank. We were treated pretty poorly by staff on our very first visit 6 months ago so decided to transfer our funds to another bank once the term deposit had matured however Australia bank rejected the request to our new bank and now we're forced to go to the branch to sort things out. We've already lost interest for 8 days so far. Then I spoke to a lady named Jan today, she seemed genuinely interested in our complaint and said she'd email me a form to arrange a new password... Still waiting and that was this morning! I'm sure another bank will be happy to invest our funds and then it'll be goodbye to Australia Bank from us.
I was so excited a week ago when I opened my Bank Australia account. I told my friends, house mates and family members... I was proud to be able to say I'd taken the time to start banking ethically. I had been pretty fed up with my other banks, for all the normal reasons, and I was sure Bank Australia would do a better job.
I was however completely wrong.
I don't know if staff are picked from a pool of people who failed basic arithmetic... but it would certainly explain my experience the past week. Despite providing a ridiculous level of documentation and then walking 4 different people through the numbers presented on my loan document... they continued to misclassify more than 50% of my income as an expenditure instead of seeing that it was being transferred in to a HISA... for which documentation was provided.
I went in to their Fitzroy branch, had multiple phone calls, emails and implored them to let me walk them through where their numbers were being misclassifiied. Alas, they think they know my personal banking better than I do.
After spending literally hours/days this week... I can't see myself keeping this account.... it was all a total waste of time, an absolute sunk cost.
This experience is perhaps the final nail in the coffin that shows that ALL banks are the same; regardless of what their advertising says.
Disappointed after 28 years with this Bank
I have been with them for 28 years, first time I applied for a personal loan,
I required to consolidate one and some for family reason.
They agreed to consolidate but not to personal amount..
Hence personal loan. They dictated that I could only spend the amount I required on something to do with me, but not my daughter wedding.
Well my daughters wedding is a very big part of me. Disgusted to the very core. Once credit card paid done!!
