Excellent customer service with good advice
The stuffs never disappoint me every time I walked into the branch. They provide good customer services and give me very useful suggestions. That is something I cannot figure it out myself if I simply go online. The only complaint will be few branches to go to.
BankWest has been fine for me, but I don't have a loan with them...
I've been a BankWest customer for years, but for transaction/saving accounts only. For regular banking they've been great. Solid app and good service. Shame they closed some east coast branches.
Friendly and professional
I have found on the multiple occasions I have had to go into the bank branch weither in Maddington or cannington the staff are clear , helpful and have listened to what I need and found the best suited options for me and my family I will continue to be a customer as they treat you with respect for the fact you want to put your hard earned money with them and will do what they can to make things simple and convenient
Had positive experiences with BankWest
I was previously very disappointed with CitiBank and decided to move to BankWest. Opening an account was pretty easy and got everything sorted and running pretty fast. Didn't need to contact them that often but so far everything has been without any friction. This winter my credit card information got stolen (probably a hack at one of the online stores that I use). They noticed that, blocked the card and contacted me immediately. Everything was handled quickly and friendly. I got a new card and they handled the refund etc. No trouble at all. To...day there was again a suspicion of a fraud and got again a contact from them. In fact it was just my dry cleaner booking several payments on the same day and it was all good. I called BankWest and the service was very friendly and efficient and the card was unblocked immediately. Thus I've been really happy with BankWest so far (currently some 8-9 months with them). Many complaints here are about home loans. We don't have one so can't comment on that. Last one note: I have both personal and business account at BankWest and can vouch for the fact that to date I haven't paid a cent on service charges. In my case their promise of a no-cost account has held true.
Great rates, if something goes wrong they are willing to fix it.
I have a credit card with bankwest and the rates are fantastic, I really feel that they give you a great deal. The card arriving was a challenge and the pin was not working but time after time they tried to fix it and eventually did. In the meantime they were extremely accomdating and waived all the costs I had to incur as a result. I have been speaking with them about taking a new loan and they have been fantastic - you get a personal account manager to talk to who even gives you their email and mobile - No more being lost in a call centre. Great saving account with 5.25% pa too.
No branches in Central Queensland
No fees, interest for transaction account
I was with ANZ but they decided to start charging me fees and refused to write these off. This was after I explained I could move to another bank. So I switched to BankWest.
My banking needs are pretty simple. All I wanted was a savings, transaction/everyday account and a credit card.
I got all of these fee free with BankWest. The platinum fee free credit card seems to be very good. You get no international exchange fee on it as well as a whole heap of insurance products.
The only downside would be the amount of paperwork I had to subm...it to get any account open. Including for my savings one. With ANZ I just applied online and it was set up the next day. No Fees (Platinum credit card included), friendly service Too much paperwork to get set up
Overall the existence of this bank is nothing but a good thing. Hopefully they will pressure some of the other banks to improve their trading hours. Have always had positive experiences on every visit. I've recommended this bank many times to people who are wanting more fee-free ATM use and more convenient access to in-branch services.
Trading hours that are designed with the customer in mind. Finally. Less fees than many other banks assuming you choose the right account.
Just don't like the kiosk-esque style typical branch design. Had to be taken upstairs to open an account.
Zero account is great
Good Service, excellent account for the worker/ family on $2000+ month. Free $100 overdraft. FREE access to big banks ATM's. Free account keeping if over the $2000/month
no account keeping fees, FREE use of big banks ATMS- nab, anz. commonwealth, westpac + its own atms in 7-11's etc. $100 FREE overdraft for when you forget that direct debit comes out!
I came back from the UK late last year so had experienced several years of fee-free banking and was keen to get that back in Australia as well. I had heard of Bankwest and knew that they had been bought out by CBA so was skeptical. Their products seemed comparable with others on the market (the Hero transaction account has no fees as long as you withdraw from Bankwest ATM's) and the high interest saver account (higher rate paid if you don't withdraw). What really swung it for me was the branch opening hours. It was great to know that I coul...d walk into a branch if I had a problem on a Thursday or Friday after work or even on the weekend. That said, I have experienced a bit of hit and miss with their customer service, but I think you get this with all organisations. Some staff members are good and some are not. One occasion that made me quite mad was when I got different advice from the phone staff to the staff in the branch. However, I would recommend them for their branch hours alone. branches open outside normal banking hours (ie late night Thursday and Friday and weekends) customer service can be hit and miss
not a bad bank, having car loan, and house loan with them, and planing to get another home loan with them in few month. come to the fact the CBA bought them, i think bankwest is the combination of big bank+good rate+low fees.
the orange colour, competitive rate for home loans and online saving account, less fees charged for the products compare with other big banks.love the coffe when go to the branches.
need mobile banking, most major banks now have app for the iphone, and bankwest need to work on that for their" happy banking", the staff need to be trained properly, hard to find a dedicated person that really look after you.
Overall I'm happy with what they provide. Their variable home loan interest rate are lower than the 4 major banks. Ability to access 4 major banks ATMs without any fee (if you have a homeloan).
Simple terms and conditions, easy internet banking, no fee using 4 major banks ATM if you have a home loan with them
lack of staff in branches,
Overall a very good bank with friendly staff and a competitive range of products. Their fees are much lower than their competitors and the interest rates on their savings products, while not industry leading, are still very good. Currently they have next to no branches in QLD (but are expanding quite rapidly now) but if you mainly use EFTPOS, Internet and Phone Banking, this isn't really an issue. I've been offered brochures and more information on new products while speaking to BankWest call centre agents who have promised to snail me with det...ails - I'm yet to receive promised brochures and information on products they have told me about on the phone. Other than that they are a great bank to deal with and certainly a breathe of fresh air from the major 4 banks. Good range of products, ever expanding network of ATMs and branches, friendly branch and telephone staff, low fees and quick phone service and the ability to have a Mastercard Debit Card linked to your transaction account. There isn't really that much to dislike, but they do have a tendency to discontinue certainly products without you even knowing, or letting you know and requests for information on products (via post) haven't always been actioned.
Love the net banking very easy to use, phone banking can be long winded but you gotta expect that. Most are very helpful. Great interest rates! Great account keeping fees. we get charged $6 evrey time we go in store which i think is a bit much! Other than that they... for a bank... are pretty good!
fantastic bank, always had great service! call centre usally helpful. In store also fairly helpful. mobile bankmanager we had was fantastic! Glad we changed to them! cheap interest rates and cheap account keeping fees.
occasionally you get a grumpy teller! and thats about it!!! some fees are a bit expensive.
We changed to bankwest 12months ago, it has been a fantastic bank and they look after there customers reasonably well, Online banking is slow but really good you can link all your accounts easy and send money from one to the other easily.
Bankwest has a good but simply range of a accounts, the fee structure if any is basic. Their Zero account has Zero transaction fees you can use it at the majority of major bank atms. In store customer service is good the staff generally recognize you. Bankwest online banking is easy to use.
The customer service is average over the phone. That it is a BANK....
Overall, I find Bankwest a great banking institution for your simple savings account that you don't touch too often and simply transfer funds in and out of. They offer one of the highest interest rates around, and of course no fees are of great appeal. However, they don't have fabulous cusomer service either at their call centre or the stores - maybe because they're newly branching into different products like the home loans and haven't got their staff training up to scratch yet.
they have no fees and great interest rates!
bankwest doesn't have fabulous customer service
Questions & Answers
With homeloans, As Bankwest is a subsidiary of combank . Will title search show mortgage CBA or Bankwest ?
Conducted a funds trace with Bank West over a month ago and to this date they have not made any attempt to reply. Funds were placed into one of their customers accounts in error and it appears that they are hiding their heads in the sand and not wanting to have the funds returned to the rightful owners
So... where is the question?
What is the reply paid reference and address I should use to write to BankWest to attempt to resolve ongoing disputes?
ask the bank
BankWest is the most secretive and obstructive organisation I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I have asked the bank on a number of occasions and been fobbed off. This bank has lied, obstructed, misinformed on a simple attempt to have an additional card issued. Every time I have followed the directions given the goal posts have been moved. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK.
