Cannot fault it.
Upholstery: By standard order is covered in Category 18 leather, which is a lightly corrected top grain leather, which is pigmented and further protected. This leather finish is suitable for families, and durable. It offers a nice balance between quality and durability. No cost saving tricks have been used, and the same grade of leather is used throughout the whole piece. Between Category 15 and 18, there is definitely a noticeable difference, and I would advise the later or above.
Price: Originally at $1299, it was quite a hefty price to pa...y for a single tub chair. Though Bay Leather Republic have since revised their pricing structure to better align to the economic conditions (dropped their prices) and not it's marked as $899 (or on special at the time of writing for $809). I've seen a very 'similar' chair on sale at their sister company, Freedom for about $700 or so. The quality and finish of the Bay Leather Republic does justify the additional one/two hundred premium. Frame: The frame, without referencing the product card is sturdy and doesn't wobble at all. The whole piece is somewhat larger than I initially imagined. Overall, I'm happy with the frame, and am not concerned with its quality. You can read more comments on frames used in Bay Leather Republic pieces in some of my other reviews, all which have generally quite positive. Finish: The tube edging is a nice touch and finishes the piece off nicely. The seating is removable, and attached by a buckle to hold it in place (I'm a fan of removable seating cushions). The seating cushion also has a zipper, so the filling can eventually be added to if any sagging happens. Filling: Contains only high density foam filling. If sag does occur over time, I plan to refill it via the zipper on the cushion. Expensive - but recently more reasonable.
