Good store ... new staff member is not so good
Chirn Park store.. New younger guy with long hair is very lacklustre .. even redid his ponytail whilst he was serving me today.
When I walked into store he was sitting behind counter in corner. White wine single bottles scattered on floor in front of fridge whilst he sits and does nothing... bad ooh&s... no friendly skills whatsoever
To hard to get trolleys for beer
Mentone store went in to get box beer and 3 bottles of wine asked man behind counter you got any trolleys bit difficult to carry ha said “ no to hard to get them & keep in store “ so 2 trips to car wouldn’t bother going back all too hard
manager here is awful and only wants to sell top prices
The manager at BWS Landsdale WA is awful. Not just from my experience but lots. He seems to only want to sell you top price wines telling me they don't put anything under $10 in the fridge cos the "cheap drinker" will just put it in the freezer when get home. He told some ladies in front of me buying Passsion Pop that no one ever buys that in his store as is outdated. They said they bought it for a reunion for a school mates get together. He told my son he didn't sell cigarettes anymore and to go next door to to Farmer Jacks for them.He told anot...her lady NO EFTPOS go to the teller machine, when she came back with a $100 note said I can't do that go and change it at Farmer Jacks.By the way the day before Anzac day (24th) the shop was closed for at least 20 mins and people were waiting outside. The young lady waiting as well as me with a young child said she saw him ages ago entering Farmer Jacks. Does he have shares in FJ or something? OK so staff need toilet breaks and hopefully the standard lunch break but I didn't think any shop shut down for that! Why no other staff to cover for that ? I'm sure he isn't on the loo that long.Other locals have seen him shopping there and maybe even taking home shopping as he lives local. He is just a negative person and tries to be happy but it's false and OTT. I can go into BWS Kingsley and find lots of wines under $10 in the fridge and very pleasant staff wanting to help. Your Landsdale store needs a new manager! all the rest of the staff deserve a commendation. I feel sorry for them having a manager like this Jason.Just to add I have seen him kicking a football outside the store for his own pleasure from a promotion desk outside. Not a good manager look!Move him on !
Not a great selection
I found there was not a great selection of Chardonnay available. Either were 20-25 bottle or $7 bottle not much in between
Bad Management !!!
Last night I was in BWS, Penrith and the Manager made the biggest seen yelling at one of her staff members yelling "you are very rude to me ' which was so unprofessional and terrible the poor staff member almost cried in front of everyone in the store. This young lady has the best customer service and from what i could hear and see she was not rude at all to her manager. My heart goes out to the poor girl. How could BWS hire a manager so terrible, cruel and pick on from what i know the best staff member at the penrith outlet. I was absolutely appalled.
Had a good variety of drinks to choose from at a good price. Should specify which ID's are suitable at the front; just to avoid confusion- wouldn't accept interstate ID card. Luckily had my passport
I used to shop here, but now...
I used to always buy my wine at BWS, and still would even though I think the prices have risen in the last two years. except that the one I shop at at Riverside, a suburb of Launceston, Tasmania, have started recently using some kind of extra strong perfumed cleaning product which gives me asthma - like symptoms. As soon as I enter the bottle shop I can smell a very strong odour, my eyes start to water, I can't breathe, I have sinus and an instant headache. I have suggested to staff that there is something wrong with their cleaning products,...or asked them if they have employed a new cleaner. They laugh at me, and say nothing has changed. They say they have always used the same product. (If that is so, they are using a bucketload!). They make a joke of my concerns. Despite me asking for my concerns to be passed on nothing has been done. But I have been going there for about ten years - up till now, when I can't even walk into the shop. I now go to a different BWS which doesn't have the same problem, I walk in there and breathe deeply, and it smells good. BWS at Riverside have lost my business for good. How many people will they make sick before something is realised and change occurs?
BWS tends to be where we go only when we want to pick up a quick item on the way to a function or party. They are not as cheap so we would not shop their for bulk purchases with the exception of the wine sales they sometimes have.
BWS are conveniently located in many shopping centres or smaller shop complexes, making them easily accessible. They have some good sales, including regular 30% off 6 bottles of wine. They have a reasonable variety of alchol, including some gift items in special packaging.
They can be a lot more expensive than some of the bigger stores and often have much less variety compared to somewhere like Choice or Dan Murphy's due to their smaller store sizes. The stores are quite cluttered too.
Even though i find them a little to pricey for my budget you do often find some nice gifts in there for example i found a lovely boxed set of beers for every state in australia for a very reasonable price and you cant get it in any other bottle shop. Things like this make nice presents for beer drinkers. I tend to shop here when they have good promotions on but other then that i dont really bother with them that much.
They have some quirky items that you wouldn't normally find in other bottle shops. There are a lot of these shops around.
I find them a little to pricey for my budget.
