Horrified - Rusted and Corroded after 4.5years
The oven looked beautiful and was exactly what I was after in an Aga style without the price tag.
Unfortunately after only 4.5 years I am horrified to discover that today when the oven specialist came out to clean the oven it’s not dirt and grease but HUGE amounts of rust that my family including 2 little boys have been ingesting on a daily basis. This is all in the top right oven that we use 10 to 1 over the bottom left oven as it was much simpler to use and the rust in the top right is reflective of that. The stove top where the induction p...late meets the metal edging is also rusting almost the entire 100cm length of the oven. We’ve never used corrosive agents in or on the oven and followed the directions outlined on the actual Belling website and today was the first time it was due to be professionally cleaned and so the amount of rust damage is not only horrifying but so gutting after spending nearly $6000 on it only 4.5 years ago. That equates to over $1300 a year!! The rust has just started on the bottom right oven racks now as well which and so I am not expecting it to last much longer either, and the HUGE health and safety risk this poses to my family especially my little boys is terrifying.
Have owned this oven for 4 years, and we're very happy with it. Love the induction top, heat's up super fast, lots of temperature settings and so easy to clean. After owning induction we would never consider going back to a gas cooktop.
The oven's cook evenly, maintain temperature and get very hot. We cook with the top right oven mostly, but use the multi function oven for the bottom element when cooking pizza, pie's etc, although the bottom element by itself doesn't get hot enough to cook with and needs to be used with in conjunction with ...the top element. The oven's aren't the easiest to clean as grime gets behind the rear panel and into the telescopic rails which makes them squeaky and rough to use, but suppose the same could be said for any other oven. Our cooker gets alot of use and haven't experienced the knobs pealing yet, but have noticed the alarm beeper is alot quieter than it used to be, a trim on the edge of cooktop is starting to lift slightly and a small bubble of rust appeared on the front top edge. Overall, considering how much use the cooker gets, we're very happy with it. It cooks fantastic is easy to use and everyone comments on how good it looks.
