Very comfy and useful
I was recommended to get this early on in my pregnancy and i just love it!! It really helped me through each trimester, i had a c-section 10 days ago and the bellybean is helping me to get comfortable especially as i'm still very sore and bruised. 10/10 to bellybean
Not what I expected
I was expecting a spectacular pillow for the high price, but was a little taken aback when it was just 2 cheap round inner cushions and a cover. After a number of months, the velcro had lost it's strength and would come loose, which irritated me when lying against it. It was comfortable to use, but I can't justify the high price!
I'm a back sleeper so trying to stay off my back with pillows stuffed everywhere is annoying and them consistently falling on the floor! The bellybean keeps me on my side but supporting my sore lower back and comfortable on my tummy without squishing it! And being double sided I don't have to move it everytime I turn over is great! Love it
Love the belly bean!
So comfortable for a usual tummy sleeper! I put a normal pillow between my knees and there is no pressure anywhere! My lower back used to hurt all the time and this completely stopped it. I still toss and turn but it's easy to because you don't have to rearrange the belly bean every time. Worth the money!
Every pregnant women should get this!!
I had terrible pelvic pain since my belly got bigger, bought a body pillow and also put pillow around my waist but didn't help. Bellybean is a life saver!! I read all the positive reviews here but I doubted what this small pillow can do to help my pain and I was wrong! I shouldn't have waited so long before getting this pillow!! It's so easy to move the pillow around my belly and my back to the correct position, you don't have to bring the whole pillow with you when you switch side, and the best thing is the pillow is washable, it'll become fluffy again once you washed it. I used bellybean combine with my body pillow and my pelvic pain was gone!! Highly recommend this pillow to all pregnant women!!
Awesome product and great customer service
I was really struggling with throbbing hip and glute muscles, I got to 20 weeks pregnant and started trying everything, not being used to sleeping on my side before, this was a big change for me. We bought an extra thick mattress topper for our bed, a faux sheep skin to sleep on for the hip area, did a few sessions at an osteopath, did yoga and stretching, extra pillow between my legs (pillow would always end up on hubby side of bed!), all i can say is thank goodness i gave this a whirl. It seems to somehow take the pressure off my hips and red...istributes the weight around that area of the body, so the pressure does not build up as much. Have had belly bean for 2 weeks now and just hope the magic run so far continues being now 27 weeks! All you can do is try what you can and to be honest you cant put a price on a good nights sleep!
Couldn't be without the pillow!
I got this pillow around 20 weeks pregnant I am now 32 weeks pregnant and have been sleeping amazing and a lot of has to do with the pillow! So amazing and comforting, love resting my bump and having some back support.
Best maternity pillow
I used a body pillow for my first pregnancy but my hips became a problem in my second and I was turning over every 40 minutes all night. Trying to roll over with the body pillow and rearrange the bedding was tedious and painful. The belly bean was great for me as you don't need to move it during the night. My sister in law has a bad back from a car accident and found it helpful too. The cushions aren't overly stuffed which suited me as I'm only 159cm.
Doesn't need moving during the night.
Cost but definitely worth it
Best investment, right from the start
I was one of the lucky 'Popped out from 5 weeks onwards' pregnant ladies. Now, 2 days from 40 weeks pregnant, and this is still the single BEST purchase (regardless of price) I made. It's supported my tummy and back throughout the entire pregnancy, and ensured sleep. Later in the pregnancy, due to reflux (oh THAT's fun...) I added a few extra pillows to my back and neck to prop myself up on an angle, and again, the bellybean worked wonderfully with this set up. I really can't recommend this enough, it's fantastic!
Don't need to move it in your sleep, supportive, easy to clean, easy to use
Shame I went without it for so long
I absolutely love my new Bellybean! I'm currently 27 weeks with bub # 2, and only wish I had had this through both of my pregnancies.
The cushions on either side are not so stuffed with padding that it makes your bump uncomfortable, and the flat part in the middle makes it super easy to roll over in the middle of the night without having to take a whole body pillow with you. I also love that it prevents me from sleeping flat on my back, which was waking me up at night before I got my Bellybean.
Expensive? Yes. But totally worth it.
Soft, comfortable, easy to roll over, prevents back sleeping
Haven't found anything yet
8 months after having my baby, I am still using this pillow! It really helped me especially in the last months of pregnancy...I found it a bit too warm (live in all year round, hot, humid, tropical weather) if used for sleeping on my back cushioned between the pillows....just as well...as you're not encouraged to sleep on your back in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Really great for belly support for side lying position. I never got sore backs and slept well in the night all throughout the pregnancy.....not sure if its completely attributed to the p...illow but have no doubt that it helped. International order...it arrived on time. I would recommend this pillow to friends and family for its versatility and comfort although it is a bit pricey. Small, light, portable, washable, provides good support. Not really great for breastfeeding or sleeping on back in hot weather.
Such a lifesaver - would absolutely recommend
I bought a belly bean which arrived about 15 weeks into my pregnancy. It was such a wonderful product and made a huge differnce. By the end of my pregnancy I was dragging it everywhere with me, even using it when sitting on the couch as it made me so much more comfortable.
I have read some reviews about the belly bean loosing shape or not beng large enough for the late stages of pregnancy. I am about 5.9 and my daughter was 3.66kg on delivery (just above average)I used the belly bean all the way though and even took it to the delivery. I wa...shed the belly bean every few weeks and I found that this helped it keep its shape very well. My husband appreciated the smaller size and he didn't end up sleeping on the floor! I have just bought my sister in the uk a belly bean as she is expecting her first baby. I'm sure she will love it as much as I did. Able to use in bed and on couch, didn't crowd husband out of bed. So comfortable! Make sure you wash it regularly to retain the shape
Does not live up to the hype, at all!
I had high hopes for this feeding pillow, going by all the positive reviews on the Bellybean website, I bought this pillow initially to use whilst I was pregnant & to use it in bed as my heavy bump would hurt my back in some positions & I wasn't getting good sleep...this pillow didn't help at all! It wasn't shaped right, the whole point of the two joined circles is that the shape is meant to be beneficial (somehow!), no matter how you position it, whether you use one or both of the circles, in any position. It didn't work, i could never get com...fortable using it in bed for my bump. Then after our daughter was born, I tried to use it to feed her....again, no matter how I positioned it, it just simply wasn't shaped right, I tried lots of different positions, both the baby & the pillow under her, but nothing worked, she didn't look comfortable & she wasn't balanced securely enough on the pillow. I was very disappointed in this pillow, I'd heard so many positive reviews about it on other websites, I feel completely cheated out of my money. Shape is not right, is meant to be innovative & highly usable but it really isn't, is not comfortable to use no matter what angle/different positions you use, not comfortable/safe to use when trying to breastfeed your baby, it's just the wrong shape.
didn't live up to hopes
unfortunately I was hoping for a somewhat larger pillow that provided more support. I found it quite ineffective. I bought the bellybean pillow as it was a good price and seemed to look like what I wanted. However for my second pregnancy I bought another much larger pillow and felt that it was more supportive.
I love it! I bought it after I read all the reviews on this website. And yes, this is a life safer. I can just turn around without having to carry my pillow with me, it really improved my sleep. The only thing is that I think it's overpriced for what is. In the end, it's only 2 pillows connected together.
Questions & Answers
Henk, I think you’re doing more harm than good for your small business with these passive aggressive responses! I was considering purchasing but your tone is a little off putting.
I’d suggest you consider not being so dismissive of experiences that are not in line with your own - some women will experience things differently and that’s okay. All the best.
Agree, won't be purchasing this pillow after seeing a snippet of the type of customer support Bellybean provide. Better off buying a knock off from ebay for less than half the price.
Is it suitable for plus size women Also?
It's pretty small. I'm larger than average and I didn't really think it gave me much support at all.
