Deliberately obstructive and incompetent
While trying to establish and administer an estate account for my late father who was Bendigo Bank customer, bank staff provided incorrect versions of internal forms then rejected the form once we had the document witnessed by a JP.
Process has taken forever and bank staff are evasive or downright obstructive when questioned....as they hold dad’s money they naturally also hold the power over releasing it.
A terrible organisation to deal with
Competitive? Not at all.
Cant think of anything good about this bank. Why are they not competitive? Their money is worth more than other banks apparently. Terms, interest rates, savings interest rates, fee's. There is no reason to bank with Bendigo.
Have been with them for over 8 years. I have never seen such incompetent banking. They even said they had security over 3 units that we didn't own. I am in the process of moving away from bendigo but they are being extremely obstructive.

I have been with Bendigo for about 3 years. I did find their website a bit difficult at first. Once I rang customer service, I was fine. They have a good security, rotating log in code, if you bank online. The service at the branch was very personal and helpful. It was quite crowded and busy, but hey, aren't they all. They donate decent sums to local charities. I like that! I have not seen their name published in the media about ripping off or cheating their customers. - unlike, unfortunately other banks I am with.

Bendigo bank used to be quite good, now they are actually a dangerous bank to be with. Their latest travel app is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and may leave you stranded in a foreign country with no ability to get cash out or to pay for anything! Very very dangerous bank to be with.
Berwick Bendigo Branch terrible to Deal with
We have been with Bendigo for a few years and each time we had to dreal with Berwick Branch is terrible. It takes over 2 months to action everything. We have been trying to change banks and its close to impossible their processes are lengthy and they never keep to the dates that they provide their consumers.
Disgusting would not recommend
It's not reliable, I've been with them 12mths, customer service representatives that know nothing about the way the banks run. You ask questions about payments no one seems to know a can thing, they don't process on weekends
Lack of communication
I was planning to change my personal, business and SMSF banking to Bendigo Bank. As part of the transfer, I needed an investment loan for a rental property. I had to provide Bendigo Bank a huge amount of personal and business records and then never heard from them again. Following up a couple of months later I was told that they were not providing investment loans. What a waste of time, so now Bendigo Bank is blacklisted and the shares I had in the bank disposed of.
Lies after lies
I have held my banking with Bendigo Bank for over 15 years. You can not have a direct debit set up with them for a Friday. Friday morning I checked my bank had plenty of money in for my car payment due that day. Finish work Friday afternoon and see my account is almost $300 in the red. I am then left all weekend wondering if Bendigo Bank are going to honour the car payment or not. Come Monday they don't, have held my money all weekend and finally decided to give it back. Our local branch is open on a Saturday but Warrnambool no longer does. I c...ould have gone to the local branch on Saturday to deposit extra funds but was not aware of the situation as Bendigo Bank do allow some transactions over the weekend but not when it comes to direct debits. They'd rather invest peoples money then let them have it.. Simple if there isn't enough funds dishonor the payment leave the person's money in their bank account. Absolute crap telling me we don't get the reports back until Monday but you've allowed a refund to process over the weekend. Very poor behavior from Bendigo Bank Warrnambool, [name removed] would not allow me to talk. Sad you lose sight of being a decent human for your income.
Have been with Bendigo Bank for 30 years.
Have paid off one home loan in 15 years. Always liked Bendigo Bank. Made an appointment about getting further finance. Was told I would see a lender I had spoken with two years earlier. Arrived to my appointment which was now with another young 'lender' who clearly was unable to assist me, had no product knowledge, no customer service skills and sadly, was incompetent. Dishonest and Untrustworthy
Don't be fooled by colorful photos of smiling bank staff linking arms with the community. These guys are dishonest and untrustworthy.
I've been a customer of Bendigo Bank for over 10 years. I'm chasing thousands of dollars in overpaid fees and I tried to get information on the matter and records of the fees I had paid. The Branch Manager blatantly lied in answer to my questions and would not send me the statements I asked for. He tried to bully me into accepting a “goodwill offer” which was less than half the amount of money involved.
Acting like the big 4 banks
This bank just sent us 14days notice it is closing its agency at Beachmere after approx 18mths with no explanation why. They came guns blazing huge signs advertising they would be opening agency at newsagent here. They had reps at entrance to shopping centre approaching people to change banks to them. I asked them if they were here for the long haul and their rep assured me they were and they were all for the community. I feel he lied and misled myself and others. I opened an account on his assurance like others and opened the account one of th...e Margate staff recommended me to. Another big mistake. When I rang them after letter regarding closure they told me in order for me to withdraw money to live on I would have to open a different account with card attached as one they recommended had no card attached and pay a monthly fee for that account as well as paying withdrawal fee's at teller machine here as none belong to big bank. The other option was to travel to Margate approx 25klms away. I explained due to illness I do not drive or travel that far so could not do that and that I had no photo ID to do that. Their answer was to spend money on an proof of age card. More traveling. I told them that I believe they have misled this community and were on a money grab by getting people to bank with them. That even if people closed their accounts some wouldn't so the bank has more customers than before. They were not helpful and many in this community feel let down by them. I and others feel they care not for the customer or community as they stated but their profit margins. Shame on you Bendigo Bank. You are like the big 4

Zero stars is more appropriate
I was a customer with Bendigo for 15 years. I have recently discovered they've taken at minimum $400 in incorrect fees. The branch manager has final say, and has only offered $29 as a "goodwill gesture." She has refused to speak to me on the phone and instead had her frontline staff call me and relay her paltry decision.
I also required a bank statement for Centrelink, and I had to attend the branch Three times because their staff have no idea what they're doing, even though they assured me the transaction listing they gave me is good enough. ...
I don't want to give this bank 1 star. This bank has taken out so much fees that it leaves me broke. There is not a strong enough word to describe the feeling of looking into your bank account and discovering the bank has taken fees for something. Not small fees either. I am so fed up with this bank and it's rude customer service. The face to face customer service has been extremely rude, not on one occasion either. Have changed since that ignorant experience and can say I am extremely happy with my new service and customer service. Also why can't the customer describe the ugly experience they have with banks.
Not fair bendigo
Oh dear, watching open hours shrink, now no Saturday opening, gee why am I banking with them, can no longer pop over on Saturday nor pop in on the way home
October 28th 2019 Update: Bad service
Bendigo bank your adds say leave the big four and come to u, tell me why??? Shorter hours, opening later and closing early during week closed Saturday, queues getting longer, today 2 staff on queued out the door. And u call this good service
Staff and Manager incompetent
We went to the Bendigo bank Secret Harbour, WA, to get a business loan before the end of the financial year, and it turned out that the staff at the branch had no idea about the products they offered. Took 3 weeks with constant changes and laziness from them for us to walk away! Manager could not even read Tax paperwork from a general accountant and had to seek advice, they refused to give a time frame as apparently "no bank will tell you how long it takes to approve a loan, we all just have to hope its this side of Christmas". With urgent t...ime frames/signing, the branch staff decided to have days off without mentioning it to us, so we roll up, and oops no one can help. We double-checked (as it didn’t sound right) that they would give us 3.99% for a 2013 truck, yes they said. About the time we were expecting the funds they came back and said, actually no we can’t give you that rate and we have to start again. Well ok, we did that, then they came back A WEEK later to say that they won’t foot 100% of the truck costs because its over 5 years old… hm, nothing like telling us before its too late to get a loan anywhere else.
25 years of good service
I have had an account with Bendigo bank for 25 years, I only opened an account to get a mortgage and I had 3 other accounts with major banks. closed them all down because they could not beat bendigo for service or fees or helping when I had a problem. when I walk into other banks and see the wait times. I laugh and if im charged an what I consider an unfair fee. I talk to them and 95% of the time they withdraw the fee. Could not be happier. a great bank :) :)

Best of the worst
Banks are always going to be annoying to deal with but Bendigo makes it barable. I’ve been with them for 4 years and they have never done me wrong. Customer service is always good. They seem such happy people for what I can only imagine is a rough job
