They used to be good, now they are dangerously incompetent. Be very careful if you use their travel app!!!!
Bendigo bank used to be quite good, now they are actually a dangerous bank to be with. Their latest travel app is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and may leave you stranded in a foreign country with no ability to get cash out or to pay for anything! Very very dangerous bank to be with.
Berwick Bendigo Branch terrible to Deal with
We have been with Bendigo for a few years and each time we had to dreal with Berwick Branch is terrible. It takes over 2 months to action everything. We have been trying to change banks and its close to impossible their processes are lengthy and they never keep to the dates that they provide their consumers.
Disgusting would not recommend
It's not reliable, I've been with them 12mths, customer service representatives that know nothing about the way the banks run. You ask questions about payments no one seems to know a can thing, they don't process on weekends
Extremely rude 'support' staff
The call centre staff are extremely obnoxious and unhelpful, and are very rude to elderly customers. I would go as far to say, as they are discriminatory to the elderly and do not help them with internet banking difficulties. I'll be removing all my investments as soon as possible.
Lack of communication
I was planning to change my personal, business and SMSF banking to Bendigo Bank. As part of the transfer, I needed an investment loan for a rental property. I had to provide Bendigo Bank a huge amount of personal and business records and then never heard from them again. Following up a couple of months later I was told that they were not providing investment loans. What a waste of time, so now Bendigo Bank is blacklisted and the shares I had in the bank disposed of.

Business Master Debit Card replacement from hell
My association with Bendigo Bank goes back to days before it merged with Adelaide Bank (about 10 years ago). Back then I cannot complaint on services they offered. Two years ago I started a family business, so naturally I chose Bendigo Bank to open a business transaction account. Everything seems fine until a week or so ago. A fraudulent transaction occurred overseas using my Master card details and I received a SMS alert from the bank. Much appreciated on this. So I organised to get a replacement debit Master card first thing in the morn...ing of (Tuesday), 19/11/2019. Well as I write (Thursday, 28/11/2019), I'm still waiting for that replacement card! Just imagine that I'm trying to run a business and cannot buy supplies, stock etc. for days! Furthermore, I cannot even update card details so my direct debit payments for various services can continue! Mind you, my local Bendigo Bank branch even submitted another card replacement request this week, as the previous one hasn't even been dispatched after a week! The promise of an express delivery (due to business nature) of the card is taking 9 days and still counting! I have used other banks and replacement card usually arrived within 5 days! Clearly this is something that Bendigo Bank still struggle to achieve! In the meantime, I'm paying monthly account fee to get such a poor service! As for the fraudulent overseas transaction involved my Master card ... Bendigo Bank has identified it as an unauthorised purchase and I confirmed this. I still have to wait for 45 days for them to return over AUD$800 to my account! This really is a joke ... NOT!
No account--no service!
They are the only bank in cunderdin w.A. Anyone can use their atm, went inside to break down a $50 note, was refused as I was not an account holder!

No my cup of tea
I have a Bendigo Bank for a a while but did not use as interest rates were low and term deposits rate were low also - a person can do better elsewhere.
Recently I went to my local back to start using the account but found they are pushing people into phone banking. I don't do phone banking.
Apparently to use you account you have to have a phone app. You can't just do it online/internet and then there are references to electronic "tokens". I do use online banking services and some institutions send verification codes for transactions - no problem.
No sure what the future of banks on the street front is if they are pushing this kind of digital banking.
Lies after lies
I have held my banking with Bendigo Bank for over 15 years. You can not have a direct debit set up with them for a Friday. Friday morning I checked my bank had plenty of money in for my car payment due that day. Finish work Friday afternoon and see my account is almost $300 in the red. I am then left all weekend wondering if Bendigo Bank are going to honour the car payment or not. Come Monday they don't, have held my money all weekend and finally decided to give it back. Our local branch is open on a Saturday but Warrnambool no longer does. I c...ould have gone to the local branch on Saturday to deposit extra funds but was not aware of the situation as Bendigo Bank do allow some transactions over the weekend but not when it comes to direct debits. They'd rather invest peoples money then let them have it.. Simple if there isn't enough funds dishonor the payment leave the person's money in their bank account. Absolute crap telling me we don't get the reports back until Monday but you've allowed a refund to process over the weekend. Very poor behavior from Bendigo Bank Warrnambool, [name removed] would not allow me to talk. Sad you lose sight of being a decent human for your income.
who cares about the consumers
Im 75 years old and have been a customer with the Maroochydore Branch, from not long after they opened. I guess all banks are the same
My new eftpos card hasn't arrived so I called at the Bank to inform them. Well it did arrive two days on. I contacted Bendigo Head Office to activate my card or I assumed. When I went to pay a tradesman the ATM said card not activated.
Back to my branch, a young teller rang Head Office, was assured the card was activated. Tested in the ATM not activated Head Office again, told the card had been cancelled. Let...
WARNING FOR TRAVELLERS - IMPORTANT
I would love to be positive about Bendigo Bank, but we were left seriously in the lurch with their new FX go traveller's system while in Europe - whatever you do, DO NOT sign up for FX go. To be fair, it is also my fault for having warning bells ringing when their 'log in online' kept asking for your date of birth but wouldn't allow you to enter it, and the teller taking nearly 2 hours to set us both up with one each, and then complaining that she was working overtime to set up our cards! Like it was our fault! We had all our information and id...entification, our passports and bank account details, and yet it took her nearly 2 hours, It indicates it is clearly in it's Beta-testing days, and me and my husband were guinea-pigs for a system that let us down 100% of the time - 'accepted everywhere in Europe' they will tell you, well, I can tell you first hand, that it is NOT accepted anywhere in Europe! My husband set us both up with FX go cards before we left, and transferred hefty amounts into both of our accounts, but if it hadn't been for me ("just in case") setting up my Visa credit card and my ANZ cash card, we would have had to sleep in the Rome train station! I am not exaggerating cos there was also some problem with our roaming sims, which were supposed to to take no more than 30 mins to fire-up, but instead took 6 hours ... gee, thanks so much Bendigo FX! Never ever again. After years with them we will probably close our account after that horror experience.
Have been with Bendigo Bank for 30 years.
Have paid off one home loan in 15 years. Always liked Bendigo Bank. Made an appointment about getting further finance. Was told I would see a lender I had spoken with two years earlier. Arrived to my appointment which was now with another young 'lender' who clearly was unable to assist me, had no product knowledge, no customer service skills and sadly, was incompetent. It was very strange. When I expressed my frustration and that I thought I was seeing the previous lender he said 'It is her last day ...

Dishonest and Untrustworthy
Don't be fooled by colorful photos of smiling bank staff linking arms with the community. These guys are dishonest and untrustworthy.
I've been a customer of Bendigo Bank for over 10 years. I'm chasing thousands of dollars in overpaid fees and I tried to get information on the matter and records of the fees I had paid. The Branch Manager blatantly lied in answer to my questions and would not send me the statements I asked for. He tried to bully me into accepting a “goodwill offer” which was less than half the amount of money involved.
Acting like the big 4 banks
This bank just sent us 14days notice it is closing its agency at Beachmere after approx 18mths with no explanation why. They came guns blazing huge signs advertising they would be opening agency at newsagent here. They had reps at entrance to shopping centre approaching people to change banks to them. I asked them if they were here for the long haul and their rep assured me they were and they were all for the community. I feel he lied and misled myself and others. I opened an account on his assurance like others and opened the account one of th...e Margate staff recommended me to. Another big mistake. When I rang them after letter regarding closure they told me in order for me to withdraw money to live on I would have to open a different account with card attached as one they recommended had no card attached and pay a monthly fee for that account as well as paying withdrawal fee's at teller machine here as none belong to big bank. The other option was to travel to Margate approx 25klms away. I explained due to illness I do not drive or travel that far so could not do that and that I had no photo ID to do that. Their answer was to spend money on an proof of age card. More traveling. I told them that I believe they have misled this community and were on a money grab by getting people to bank with them. That even if people closed their accounts some wouldn't so the bank has more customers than before. They were not helpful and many in this community feel let down by them. I and others feel they care not for the customer or community as they stated but their profit margins. Shame on you Bendigo Bank. You are like the big 4
‘The Better Big Bank’ ? I think not!
After 40 years with one of the Big 4 banks we thought it was time to look at other options. All our lives we had been model customers of 2 of the major banks paying off 5 mortgages over the years. We fell for the Bendigo Banks advertising promise of a better experience, only to discover they were even worse! No customer skills at all, the Manager at the Cooroy Branch was aloof and rarely interested in returning calls. The process of dealing with all the staff was disjointed and tedious. A complete fail.

Zero stars is more appropriate
I was a customer with Bendigo for 15 years. I have recently discovered they've taken at minimum $400 in incorrect fees. The branch manager has final say, and has only offered $29 as a "goodwill gesture." She has refused to speak to me on the phone and instead had her frontline staff call me and relay her paltry decision.
I also required a bank statement for Centrelink, and I had to attend the branch Three times because their staff have no idea what they're doing, even though they assured me the transaction listing they gave me is good enough. ...
Today Bendigo Bank Cyber Crime team, saved me from an attempted fraudulent transaction, I was informed within minutes of the attempt. They are on duty 24/7 Bravo Bendigo !. In fact my 17 years with a Bedigo has been a good experience
September 20th 2019 Update: Rural banking
Have been with Bendigo since 2003, never an issue, Bendigo still has branch's with people, helpful people, but the phone banking is 24/7 so I use that mostly. Bendigo has recovered my money from a fraud once, and recently stopped an online attempt in progress, their fraud team is there 24/7 wonderful people, and when my account was locked to protect it, they organised for me to get money when needed.
Ats are just going......going......gone
Looks like the Bendigo bank has big bank syndrome; how to rip off more customers and give less service.
Slowly all the Bendigo bank Atms are going out of shopping centers. Sure they have kept the ones at the banks, but trying to park near a bank!!!!!???? Most BIG BANKS have banks in shopping centers, and have atms everywhere. After being with the Bendigo for years.....I feel let down big time. I am looking for a decent smaller bank.
Huge wait time on phone, and loads of fees attached to accounts.
Sitting on hold for over 30 min, plus loads of fees on my accounts. There are other banks doing it better.
They also don't offer any reward scheme's for flying or anything else.
I don't want to give this bank 1 star. This bank has taken out so much fees that it leaves me broke. There is not a strong enough word to describe the feeling of looking into your bank account and discovering the bank has taken fees for something. Not small fees either. I am so fed up with this bank and it's rude customer service. The face to face customer service has been extremely rude, not on one occasion either. Have changed since that ignorant experience and can say I am extremely happy with my new service and customer service. Also why can't the customer describe the ugly experience they have with banks.
Questions & Answers
I live in Queensland so it's not a holiday Monday but I'm paid Monday from Bendigo but from Centrelink Tuesday it's a holiday in Vic on Monday 8th June when should I get my payment Sunday or tuesday???
I have been with the Bendigo Bank for 20 years, the services they offer online are great and I truly believe it's a good bank, the problem starts when you have to deal with them through customer services, the staff are really letting the bank down in the way that they deal with customers, which is such a pity
Does bendigo bank process payments on a Saturday
