Great all round tyre
These BFG tyres are great, they have low noise on the highway at 110km/h, The grip on dry sealed road is great, little slippery on wet roads compaired to the original tyres Bridgestone duller HT but far better traction off road with loose steep gravel. Not the best for uphill mud climbs but with lower tyre pressure it seems to do a little better but it comes down to difflocks (not fitted)
The tyre have large lugs on the side wall to help get out of bog holes, these are not a full offroad tyre but as a general all purpose tyre they do extremely well in most situations.
Great tyre, to be expected for the price.
One of the best tyres I've had.
Sizeable cut in sidewall on a beach at 10'000 km, thanks to the hearty side wall thickness I've now done 95'000k with no need of a spare! It does come at a cost, the ride is VERY firm with such a thick wall.
These tyres are professional quality from start to stop. They perform amazingly, I have taken them in the loosest gravel roads you can imagine, up steep inclines and declines, up rocky washed out tracked, over corrugations. These tyres feel amazing. They are very economical and you immediately see a decrease in fuel usage. I went from 800km per tank to 1000km per tank. 20% increase in fuel economy!! They will pay for themselves within 3 months.
The customer service at BFGoodrich is awesome, I contacted them to grab a sticker for my 4x4 becau...se of how great they were, and they send out not only a heap of stickers, but hats, keyrings etc. It was awesome! Highly recommend! Make sure you get authentic BFGoodrich and not the knock offs that de-laminate and blow out. I got them from Bob Jane T-marts who were professional and very friendly, plus their after-care is amazing with all the free checks and discounts.
Best Tyre Ever!
I had the Monsta A/T terrain grippers on my car and they could not be balanced..I wasted $800 on the set. I bought these tyres and not a single shake or vibration it feels like i have put a new suspension kit on it. I will never bye a cheap Chinese tyre again even if they do say they are designed in OZ.
BF Goodrich ko2 bad Tyre balance issues
Back and forwards to bob Jane after purchasing BF Goodrich ko2 4 times they can’t solve the issue why they can’t balance them . They drove me mad wobbling at 100klms - 110 klms changed Tyre brand never had and issue never buying them again don’t waste your time . If you do purchase them you are wasting your money . I herd they where are good Tyre purchased ever Tyre brand in the past under the sun thought I’d try BF Goodrich ko2 all terrain what a joke of a Tyre can’t believe how people can like them . Toyo tyres crap all over them all terrain and mud tyres you will never go back after buying them .
Well if you want qulaity look no further very impressed with the kms you get out of the tyre solid tyre not noisy at all on the highway. Great on sand and dirt great wall design keeping you safe and puncher free on the tracks. Overall would buy them again.
Great in all conditions, nice stable tyre
Use to run Maxxis AT 700's on my old Nissan Terrano, Now I have a Patrol I put some BFG's on her and I like the smooth ride on highway and grip in sand. Good grip in the wet and they clean sand - mud from tread blocks quite well. Got just above 85,000ks out of them though. I Have changed back to Maxxis for money reasons. If not I would bought these again no worries.
Best tyres for 4x4
these are no doubt the best tyres i have ever owned. I have always been a fan of BFgoodrich as i used to have Kumos / Dunlops / Toyo / Bridgestone and they all have failed in one way or another over the long run as for the BF goodrich even though they mightn't get as many miles as some other tyres i never have had any punctures or any other issues with them and the grip is excellent on both tar and dirt roads
Great tyre non existent customer support
Tyres grip well on wet grass and loose gravel. The tread thickness bodes well for a long life (far better than the woeful 13,000km my Bridgestone tyres provided). Admittedly a ute loaded to its max gvm of 3.5 tonne, is as harsh a load as many will encounter. We carry a Slideon camper on the Dmax tray, with 1200kg on each rear corner.
The ute has been GVM upgraded to 3500kg with heavy duty leaf springs, shock absorbers and Boss air bags.
These tyres have a load carrying capacity of 1490kg at 80psi, meaning that I can safely drive about carry...
had to get new tyres
so a friend recommended to buy these. $360 a Tyre sold the old ones for $50 so saved $16 bucks each Tyre on disposal. Going to take them on a big trip soon and see how they go. Like the fact they have a decent wall on them and sure they we'll handle places like the Gibb well
The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tyre is pretty bloody good i have the 31 10.5 15 on a hilux they grip very well on un sealed roads and loose gravely roads on the black stuff they are pretty good although not as grippy as some buy quite aceptable the ware on the tyres is fantastic nice looking tyre too in the mud they are pretty good
Great All rounder
Have had them only 12 months, they are quieter than I expected considering the aggressive nature of the tread,
Wear appears to be OK and works well in the wet. They do slip a tiny bit in the wet but that could be more attributed to an empty ute with a chip upgrade and a heavy foot...At this stage Yes would buy them again.
Well I did some digging and BF Goodrich recommended that the vehicle manufacturers pressure provided on the placard be used. Well to my surprise that was 29 PSI, a lot lower than expected and silly me I never thought to look at this before. I decided to drop the pressures down to 32 PSI and it's a different vehicle all together. It now sits on the road well and I have grip in the wet. Time will tell if they hold together at this pressure even thought they certainly don't look under inflated. This is vastly different to my last Hi Lux so it does pay to read the placard.
Fitted to a 2013 Ford Ranger XLT Crew Cab Have had a horror with balancing. @ 80-110kms/hr the car vibrates like on a corrugated road. Tried getting ford to balance the tyres twice now and another 2 independent tyre shops with no such luck. Extremely disappointed as they used to be the elite of the tyres but now i think ill try something else next time
Very poor balance
400Klm and 3 wheel balances later, the vehicle vibrates at 110KLMH. I believed the hype of this being the best tyre you can get. I would take poor quality Chinese garbage over BF Goodridge any day. I will never touch them again.I have had.Ive had many forms of tyres over the years and these are the worst i have ever had.
Best Value 4WD Tyres Ever
I have owned this tyres for over three years (35,000kms) and done quite a bit of offroad with it, including snow, mud, sand and river. So far no problems at all. I don't know why so many negative comments and I have to say it's the best value tyres compare to Coopers, Mickys. Many of my 4wd mate switched to BFG now.
Cracking side walls
With the older style cracking and the dealer and rep blaming the tyres have been used off road and could have been impacted I have earned a relative not to go with the BF Goodrich anymore. They did purchase the new style and, within months cracked side walls. Because the tyre pressure was 5 psi below recommended pressure there is no warranty.
You have been warned.
I personally will never buy another BFG with the poor after sales.
Great in mud
For an AT tires, they've been pretty impressive in wet sticky clay and mud, and virtually all terrain, although I haven't had them in snow for we don't have snow. They are heavy though! They are pretty "numb" to feel but will transmit jolts to the car. So far proven to be quite tough and stick much better that OEM on my truck. Even when down to half inflation, they don't look very aired-down, must have a solid wire skeleton holding up the sidewall structure. No problems on the beach sand either, and as a bonus just a slight hum on the freeway in terms of noise, otherwise pretty quiet, which is atypical of an AT tire.
Ko2s have now done 30,000 ks, 60% bituman,20% dirt roads/tracks 20%CROSS COUNTRY, and dry river banks. Wear 40% these tyres are quite on bitumin, grip well on wet roads, as well handle my GU wagon well on dirt roads up to 110kph, pot holes, bulldust holes etc.
These tyres have 3 puntures, two thru the sidewall outer lugs, and one between the tread.
All these puntures were caused by australian hardwoods (Mulga) so shouldnt be a minus in purchasing these tyres.
Pretty Good Everywhere, a Little Nervous In the Wet
Have had these tyres fitted since the car was new, so I cant compare them to the Grandtreks.
Have done 15,000 Km's in all conditions and have found them pretty good overall, but sort of a compromise everywhere at the same time. One thing that i'm not overly happy with is their performance in the wet. Although I haven't had any big moments, they always feel nervous and on the edge of grip.
Very quiet, at least on a Prado. Wear seems non existent so far.
Took a ton of weights to balance every wheel. Don't see other tyres needing this sort of weight qty.
May try Toyo or Good Year next time.
Questions & Answers
What is the method to keep them balanced. They shake like heck after 2/3 thousand miles. Get them force balanced constantly, been dealing with this issue for over a year.
I had 4 bfg ko2 265/75/16 fitted to a new bt50 fitted on new steel rims , haven’t been able to balance from day one , this includes finger balance as well. We have change 2 rims as well as fitted 4 more new ko2’s still got the wobbles at 80ks .
No problem when I put original rims back on .
