Dangerous, Noisy Rubbish
Fitted a set to my 2018 Ranger XLT, use for country road driving as well as highway. Felt really good compared to the OE tyres when I first got them but when the drought broke they showed their true colours. On wet tar they are diabolical. I even had to engage 4wd to safely drive up Pennant Hills Rd in a storm! Ok off road but I won’t be buying again. They are the Thai made ones.
Purchased at Bob Jane T-Marts for $305.00.
I have used them on my Range Rover, bought 5 of them a while back and they were outstanding, last week bought a set for a different car and I thought the bearings went bad, extremely noisy, changed wheels back to the ones with Michelin and perfect, having two sets in two different vehicles in the same size but one set is very very noisy and the other is quiet ... how? did they change production in the las year? it still says made in the usa but this new set is absolutely terrible with noise and don't drive in the wet! compared to the old KO2 these new set are deadly in the wet
Purchased in February 2021 for $1,600.00.
Went from Toyo to Ko2 s, big mistake, the van went From a great a driver to a nervous van
Noisy as and downright dangerous in the wet,
I won’t be using this brand again,
Overpriced rubbish, done around a 1000k, won’t be doing many more. Toyo open country were far better
Purchased in November 2020 for $1,070.00.
Terrible in wet unsafe!!
I had BFGoodrich a/t on my previous vehicle they were great got the ko2 on my ranger and they are rubbish noisy on the road and terrible traction in the wet .
Purchased in June 2017 at Bob Jane T-Marts.
Tyre pops while 4x4. Only 3 days old
Tyre pops driving over rock. With only being 3 days old. Had older tyre that had no problem. Never again.
No warranty in them which does not help. seem the tyre is not durable.
Purchased at Bob Jane T-Marts for $300.00.
very mixed feelings
have 6 bfg KO2 on 200 series Cruiser. 2 on front bought early 2019 (got 2 punctures, not repairable) Other 4 date to mid 2016. Late in 2019 completed 40000k across top, Gibb River, Canning Stock route, then dirt/gravel all way to Alice along Gary Junction road. Newer KO2 held up well, no chipping, even wear ( two wheel alignments during trip). New tyres done 40,000. No punctures across all 6 tyres. Older 4, 60,000k, tread blocks edges chipped to level they are dangerous despite having plenty of depth left on tread. Less than impressed by grip ...in the wet, either the newer front or older rear tyres. Turning a corner in the Cruiser on wet bitumen in town is much more exciting than it should be! Through the High Country of Victoria OK but nothing special and very slippery on wet tracks, more than I would expect, again compared to tyres on previous vehicles doing the same tracks. (this was before we went across to NW WA and all BFG's in perfect condition). All 6 tyres significantly noisier than they were, even front tyres with only 40,000k on them. Not overly impressed with wear, i have had alternative brands on Patrols and Cruisers that did more off road, rockier roads, and did not show the block chipping the bfg's show. Not so sure that these are the outstanding all-terrain tyres they are priced as. Now looking at replacing all 6 tyres, doubt we will use BFG again.
Purchased for $445.00.
4th set. NEVER AGAIN! Noisy, slippery and with cracks
Purchased 265/70/r18 on Jeep GC from JAX Geelong. great for a time then terrible road noise, got bearings etc checked by mechanic....its the tyres. Fuel consumption went up then crack appeared in the walls, on all four tyres like fractures. Jax looked, took photos then ignored it saying their engineers said it was tyre trauma......... engineers in what? As stated previous 3 sets where great but the new KO2 are to be AVOIDED. it isn't just me check out US reviews as well. Theres a problem with these and sales continue through there past performance, which does not reflect current quality.
Purchased in April 2018 at tax for $1,400.00.
Terrible fuel economy
Landcruiser 200 I had cooper at3 275/70 R17 all terrains. Fitted the k02's and fuel went from 11.5L per 100kms to 14.4L first and last time I run these. Defiantly going back to the coopers. The off road performance difference is so negligible.
That's 1800 litres more fuel per 60,000kms. I'm going to sell these as soon as I can find a buyer
Purchased in April 2020.
Tire is a long wearing capable tire but the noise is so bad as they get more km on them. 30,000 km left but will change for another brand. Won’t buy again.
Purchased in May 2016.
Was expecting better.
Reputation of the old KO2’s led me to purchase them for my Pathfinder. I’ve now done 60,000 kms and am thoroughly unimpressed. Road noise and dry grip was good for the first 40,000, but then they started humming and sliding all over the road. The smallest sprinkle of rain now will make them downright dangerous.
Off-road performance in gravel or dusty Territory roads is good, as long as you lower the pressure to 25 psi or thereabouts. Sand grip is similar to other brand H/T tyres.
Purchased in November 2017 at Bob Jane T-Marts for $309.00.
Would not buy again
Horrible tyres in the wet for breaking traction on sealed road. Done 30,000km and will be lucky to get 60k out of them, I will never buy BF Goodrich again.
Purchased at Bob Jane T-Marts for $305.00.
Waste of money
Since fitted about 1 year ago I have had 3 tyre replacements, haven't reached 15000km as compared to bridgestone AT reaching 90000km. Good for sand that's about it. They look good and the price you pay one would expect to get some wear out of them.
Purchased in January 2018 at JAX Tyres for $1,300.00.
Ok, have only ever run BFG KO's on my 04 D22 navara, normally average around 80,000km from a set, absolutely love those tires. BUT put on a set of these new KO2'S and they are NOTHING like the old ones, an embarrassment to the brand. Im running higher pressures to try and get them to wear flat, traction is poor wet and dry (i can break traction 1st to 2nd uphill from a stop at 1200rpm on dry bitumen with 300kg in the tray WITH A STOCK ZD30!), in the wet turning corners from a stop i have to short change at low revs 1st-2nd-3rd or they break loo...se. They are wearing quickly with only 7mm tread left after 17,700km. Ive had 4 wheel alignments and 3 rotations to try and help wear but now as they get older they are noisy and got balance issues. NOW to put this in perspective, my last set of the original KO'S did 65,000km with 4mm tread left BUT they did 2 laps around Aus towing 1800kg with 600kg over back axle constant. They did Cape York, Gibb River Rd, half the Tanami Track, various outback tracks and LOTS of proper lowrange work....shale rock, harsh gravel, mud, sand and very low pressures (all towing and loaded), on top of this i didn't have a wheel alignment for 40,000km and had a worn idler arm for last 10,000km....i sold those tires for 100bucks on Gumtree they were still that good! These new KO2'S have seen 150km of gravel road and 30km low range and i have only 7mm left after 17,700km? On top of that they are hopeless on gravel, especially towing...no grip with a tendency to slide. Ive wasted $1200. BF Goodrich feel free to contact me or ill be in contact soon. Cheers Dan
Purchased in August 2017 for $300.00.
KO2 - just too much road noise.
recently purchased a set of 215/65 KO2's and found the road noise at 70-100km/h to be draining after a long trip, had 2x wheel allignments to check all okay and bearings have been recently replaced that eliminated all other factors, ended up exchanging them last week due to this.

Can run over sharp steel, but can't handle wooden twigs.
So there is a promotion video of the K02 tyre running over a sharp piece of steel. The side walls are meant to be much thicker than any other tyre on the market, and that is what sealed the deal for me to buy these tyres. I think they are meant to be 20% tougher??
As mentioned, the video shows the tyre running over a piece of sharp steel jamming into the side wall of the tyre. The tyre does not explode or even have a mark!, and yet the other day when I was out driving in the bush with my pressures @ 26psi, a twig the size of a match stick pie...rced through the side wall of the tyre and it went flat. So here is a tyre that can run over and withstand the forces of steel, but can't handle a match stick twig?? Now I am off to the dealer to see if they are going to warrant this issue. The tyres are 7 months old and have done maybe 6,000kms. 900 of those kilometers have been off road. I had purchased a set of 5 tyres too. If they don't warrant me for this, I will never buy from this dealer of this brand again! Video here (@50secs): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kp5dVUol778&t=130s Update!!! Update!!! Update!!! Update!!! Update!!! Update!!! BF Goodrich (Michelin) and Bob Jane T-marts have replaced the two tyres. I am unsure why but this has restored my faith in the brand and the companies. We are now working together to determine the correct PSI for the terrain I travel on. It is this type of customer service that ALL companies should follow, because this is how you keep customers coming back. I asked for a wheel alignment and when I reached for my wallet, the manager at Bob Jane said it was on the house. I wanted to pay for it because that was not part of the deal. But he insisted it was free. This is true customer service. And this is the way it should always be!
Purchased in October 2018 at Bob Jane T-Marts for $1,182.00.
Tread wear and chipping that bad at 10,000 km service of my hilux 4x4 that localToyota service refused to rotate them. Should have stuck to either “Mickeys” or
Goodyear Wrangler Duratrak that I get 70 to 75,000kms out of on the harsh gravel roads that I spend most of my time on. Been waiting over 3 weeks to hear from Michelin rep. Never again

US Recall on BFF KO2'S
Ive had BFG's for over 20yrs, but never the new KO2's. I came here to read the reviews and to do a bit of pre-purchase research and noted a few people have complained about tearing sidewalls. Dug a bit deeper and found that there was a recall in the US for this specific problem, back in 2015 or 16. Unfortunately it appears us insignificant Aussies got conveniently left out of that.
Out of curiosity, has anyone experienced issues with these tyres more recently (2018-2019), as they may have fixed the issue?
Purchased in March 2019.
after using BFG's for more than thirty years, I will not buy another one. Put two on the front of my RAM 2500 and had to wait 8 weeks for two for the rear to come from US. two on the front have hardly worn 21700ks. the two rear tires both punctured at 10500ks, one with a rock strait through the tread (something I have never had before with the BFG's) the other with a 75mm tear strait through the tread ($500 gone) both within 4 days of each other. The wear on the two tires at 10500ks to Quote the tire shop owner looked like they had done 30000 +...ks. these tires had done about 200 ks on gravel the rest black top.tire pressures as per manufacturers recommendations. It appears to me that the compound of the two newer tires is inferior to the older ones. The fine print on the 6 year warranty means you don't have a chance at a claim ($1000 down) I am now running coopers on the rear. the BFG's may have been good in the past but they aren't worth the money now. I have never had a BFG tire wear or have a rock pierce the tread like these ones have and to get only 10500 ks out of them before they destroyed them selves?? These tire have a load rating of 125/122 and a speed rating of R and considering I was running empty on the black top at the time I don't know how the could achieve this rating. Save your money and look for another brand.
BF Goodrich ko2 speed rating
Totally disappointed with the speed rating of the BF Goodrich Ko2. As most of the modern SUVs are a lot faster than the speed rating ( s ) I feel it should be a minimum of a H speed rating or or a speed rating of v. So come on the bF Goodrich you have been around long enough to know better.
Dangerous in Wed Conditions
Bought these tyres as a package with the vehicle, great tyre in dry conditions, plenty of grip off road. When using them in muddy conditions, keep spinning them moderately to clear the lugs.
However in wet conditions on sealed roads they are more than dangerous. Thankful for traction control cause without it, you'd be off the road. They feature a very hard compound which is great for wear and longevity but hopeless for grip on wet sealed surfaces. Although my vehicle isn't a power house, I can still drift at 80Km/H.
Questions & Answers
What is the method to keep them balanced. They shake like heck after 2/3 thousand miles. Get them force balanced constantly, been dealing with this issue for over a year.
I had 4 bfg ko2 265/75/16 fitted to a new bt50 fitted on new steel rims , haven’t been able to balance from day one , this includes finger balance as well. We have change 2 rims as well as fitted 4 more new ko2’s still got the wobbles at 80ks .
No problem when I put original rims back on .
