No Response – Understand the company has gone into Administration however we were assured our curtains and shutters were on the way and would still be completed. Since this conversation no response either by email or phone. Some communication to your customers either way would be the right thing to do. Quote: 60184

Order and deposit was placed in March 2021.
Late October '21 - First installation there was a missing blind and one was faulty. I was also advised curtains were a few weeks away.
Late November' 21 - Second installation they installed curtains, missing blind never arrived and faulty blind was not changed as was advised bracket was not sturdy and they needed to go back to the factory and get more parts. Curtains installed are not to specs as per quote, none of the curtains clearing windows, and even problems with opening curtains, tracks installed have not been placed correctly and hence dragging sheer curtain in some rooms. Master bedroom looks terrible. A few blinds are rubbing on the cassette frames and installed incorrectly.
I encouraged a house visit so we can go through all the issues, This was organised in early December, and a manager and sales consultant came to the house but they had not even read the quote. It would have saved time if I had a hard copy of the contract and went through them all one by one. I raised my concerns about curtains to clear the windows, I was confused with their replies and reasons this could not be done. I spent so much time with the original sales consultant going through all this and discussed all the options with the wall space to ensure curtains looked good. So we started looking at solutionsand as part of this was going to purchase a few more items. A month later I requested a list of items raised, solutions discussed and ETA's. At this time I re-read the quotes and forwarded all three versions to the manager as everything I had asked was shown on the quote. I spoke with the Birk Manager and he agreed curtains provided did not meet the quote requirements. He still pushed for me to accept the solutions but by that stage I was over it all. I wanted the curtains I paid for. I was not happy with compensation. I asked for this to be escalated and wanted someone to come back to me. The silence is now deafening!
I was hesitant to make the final payment in November as I had concerns whether the job would be completed but company policy was we had to pay in advance. This is not acceptable. We pay in good faith and expect the company to respect and honour this. They have not met the quote spec's, faulty blinds and missing blind.
My original Sales consultant who I met at WOS was fantastic but since he left the company in April 2021 everything has seemed to have gone downhill. Disappointed as Birk is a sub contractor for Porter Davis and I assumed I was dealing with a professional company.
I have spent $25k, I asked them to either refund me and come and take your window furnishings back or come back re-measure and provide as per what was in the quote.
Owner will not return any of my calls, this is not acceptable. Keep away from Birk Blinds, they can not be trusted!

finally had enough And had looked over how much we had payed for them I contacted them it had just passed 3 years so warranty was over the girl was helpful and tried to help me out as much as possible but the company refused to help or send anyone out. So she sent out some attachments so I could try and fix them which is impossible, Since then the rest of my 6 blinds have broken which is Now all of them, As I said look great but definitely don’t last, not worth the premium price you pay. Very Genuine People – We purchased Shutters and roman blinds from them and there were issues with the product supplied due to an incorrect measurement taken by a tradesperson. I was annoyed to begin, but was thrilled the way they handled the situation and gave us a solution. phones/tablet. This has alleviated much concern, given we have small kids, but is also a feature in itself. Some of our blinds are over 3m tall, and 2m wide, and are very impressive.
The installers who came put all the blinds and drapes in our entire house very efficiently and were also a pleasure to deal with.
We had a seamless experience with Birk and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Beware of birk blinds, stay away from them. I repeat stay away!!! – We had our house built through Porter Davis (PD) prestige about 18 months ago. Birk installed Roman Blinds, Sheers and Plantation Shutters in our new build which amounted to approx. $20k If l could give them a -5 star rating l would, they are very unprofessional, poor workmanship and very disrespectful. ever. The worst thing we ever did was select Birk Blinds at Porter Davis WOS. We almost kicked ourselves after signing the contract when we learned that the blinds at Porter Davis display Homes were not furnished by Birk as we were after the very same look that we had seen at the display homes.
We have had over 15 months of unresolved issues with Birk and just to name a few issues (will attach pics): 1. Sheer curtains - they are all missing flick sticks plus have the wrong drop. Birk took them away a couple of months ago and only to return them worse off, shorter width + the drop still the same and still no flick sticks to today. 2. Block-out curtains in the master had the wrong drop as well + the pins at the back of the curtains are scratching paint off the wall. Birk took them away (no temporary furnishing was installed, we had to make our own provision) but only to return then worse off a few weeks later - they have multiple small holes in them + the pinch on the block out curtain is now wider than before. Basically, they opened them up and tried the impossible i.e stretching the block-out curtains...LOL, seriously, they look ridiculous. 3. Roman blinds - the majority had unexplained holes and the plastic clips at the back of the Roman blind in the living room broke probably due to the weight. We can’t raise or lower it anymore, we have kept it raised for more than 3months now. i. Last year, the contractor from Birk was supposed to remove the frilling on the blinds but instead, used a lighter and scorched 2 of the blinds - thank goodness l was present to witness it. ii. Roman blinds are scratching the paint off the architraves. Birk’s initial response, this is normal wear and tear and acceptable within the industry standards - jokes right? We have heard this same excuse countless times that it’s now OLD!! 4. Instead of attaching Curtain rails to the house frame/studs, they attached them on the plaster; thus caused the rails to dig into the plaster causing holes! We are still waiting for this job to be completed by Birk. Basically, we now have no furnishing on this window as we had to pull down the curtains.
In addition to the countless phone calls + emails, the Area Manager even visited our Home together with PD representative in mid-Dec 2019 so as to finalize the issues - this was after we complained to PD. Resultant of that, Birk booked a 7:30 am appointment in Feb 2020 but their installer was a no show - so l thought. Finally, the installer turned up at 10:30 am, no apology, nothing and above all, I had to refuse entry because they did not bring all the items required to fix all the issues. Unbelievably, the next email from Birk was nothing but rude, sitting that I have refused entry when the installer had turned up as arranged - clearly, the office was reacting based on half-baked information.
Birk has inconvenienced us countless times, we have had countless appointments since moving into our house and they still haven’t finalized the issues. Every appointment leads to another as the installer always blames it on the office and vice versa.
I always joke with my Husband that the installer is now like family - comes so often that when leaving its simply see you soon.
Birk is yet to deliver on what we paid for & have been a massive pain to deal with from the start. You'll save yourself some monies, high blood pressure, a lot of headaches, heartaches just to mention a few if you choose a different company to do your window furnishings after handover. Forget about the convenience of having window furnishings pre-fitted when you move in.
I would strongly recommend - Please stay away from them, they are not worth it - beware!!!!

Very pleased with new blinds from Birk – I would like to commend Birk on the block-out roller blinds they recently installed in my apartment. Advice on fabric quality and colour was excellent. Great blinds, installed just in time for summer – We recently had two roller blinds installed in our apartment which are just perfect. We are really happy with the quality of the finish, the colour (which they helped us to pick) and they achieve full block-out for our East-facing windows. We had a great experience dealing with Birk all the way through and would use them again.

Excellent Curtains and Great Customer Service – Jason, our point of contact, was excellent from start to finish. He is knowledgeable about his product is excellent and nothing was too much trouble and there were quite a few tricky situations to deal with. Out of Expectation!! – Me and Partner were starting up our first home. We have a very small budget, but still lots of expenses after the house was built. Easy to deal with and great end result – I recently had Birk Blinds install blinds and curtains to my entire house. I found them very easy to deal with and the communication was exceptional. The installer cleaned up any mess made due to their works and was very respectful. I have since recommended them to a friend who is currently building a new three bedroom house.

moving into the house they still haven't completed the job. They have since sent workmen around at least 4 times to the house. Each time they don't finish the job stating they have forgotten to bring some part or another. They have left very large scaffolding inside the house for weeks on end inconveniencing us. They don't even care about completing the job once they have got their payment. Do not fall for their false advertising. Porter Davis is a good builder. However their association with Birks will only destroy their reputation too.
