I upgraded from the previous model - and have found it to be just as effective with cleaning my tiles and rugs, and the new automatic cleaning program is such a major improvement. The filter doesn't seem to get anywhere near as dirty as quickly as the last model also. I've found on my tiles that the slower you move on the backwards pass (without the solution trigger activated) gives the best results. The fifth it collects off my floors is truly amazing.
Very handy but with a few flaws
+ Vac & Mop at the same time for floors. Does it ok
- Mop roller not aggressive enough to scrub hard and so will require you to do multiple passes. Stuck on crap like dried fruit or oats will require you to intervene by hand and manually loosen it. I'll try buying the other mop head to see if it improves as suggested by Bissell.
- Mop cant scrub edges, and narrow spaces smaller than the width of unit .. obviously.
- Battery life is hampered as you need multiple passes so and can't get though a medium sized house on a single charge. I have tiles, kitchen, hallway, toilet and bathroom
- No good control on the liquid and to me it seems very conservative thats why floor is almost dry when passed....

Great if you have kids
If you have kids buy this machine. I have 4 boys, one of which is has just turned 1 and this machine is a lifesaver for cleaning up. Toddlers make mess and it’s so easy to pull this out after dinner it it cleans up wet and dry bits of food. I’ve had cups of water spill and I just pull out the bissel and it sucks it right up.
Vomit... yep it happens with kids and I’ve used the bissel to clean it up off both carpet (fun times at 230am) and also off tiles. Be aware you will need to thoroughly clean the bissel out afterwards otherwise the smell w...ill be worse in the morning. But totally worth it compared to trying to clean it up with towels and a mop and bucket. I soak the roller in bleach and then throw it in the washing machine every couple of weeks to give it a good clean. I highly recommend this product.
We have two dogs and our white tiles are constantly dirty and there is always dogs hairs everywhere. This saves so much time, no need to vacuum and then mop. Just boom ! Saves so much time ! The mop cleans itself by the press of a button. What a fantastic idea !!! Love it !
Works great on tiles not on carpet like advertised
If you have a large tile and floorboard area it may be worth it not having to vac and mop. But i have equal parts of tiles and carpet so i have decided to send it back.
It's heavier than I anticipated, it's actually hard on the wrist and if you have a step down somewhere in the house its awkward to lift up using only the stick handle but there is no where else to hold for support.
I love the concept behind it and it is great machine that works great on tiles and floorboards, absoloutly terrible on carpet.
Vacuum doesnt compare to a dyson i...n anyway It's more like the standard vacuums that "suck" air so anything largish in its coarse will be pulled up but doesn't give a deep clean where all dust particles are pulled up. Unless ur wet moping and dust sticks on roller brush. On carpet, it doesn't do cleaning at all.

I’ve tried every mop and cleaning product known to man on my polished floor boards and have always found the result to either be streaky and still dirty or have a broken back from all the scrubbing. Recently fed up I started searching for a better alternative and that is when I stumbled upon the bissell crosswave max and thought it was worth a shot and I can honestly say my floors have never looked better it cleans and vacuums with ease the only slight negative is my wife finds it a little bit heavy but can still easily get through a solid clean with it.
This floor cleaner is the bees knees
I'm totally blown away by this product. Never has been cleaning floors been this easy.
I tried 2 Karchers before finally buying the Bissell as the Karchers were easily available at Bunnings (and they have an easygoing returns policy).
Both the Karchers let me down in terms of overall usability.
This cleaner is what exactly what I was looking for with 2 young kids prancing around the house (I'm a dad)
1. Easy to clean
2. Easy to refill and empty both tanks
3. Sufficient carry handles - easy to carry upstairs or around the house. Also wheels around well
4. Reasonable noise level. ...
Questions & Answers
does it REALLY go for 30 mins?
When using on hard floors with a full charge, yes. It runs on a 36volt Lithium-Ion battery which will give you fade-free power for its full runtime. If using on area rugs and low-pile carpets, expect the runtime to be less. Charge time is about 3 hours from flat.
Batteries in all cordless products regardless of brand will most likely be the first thing to go. That is why the machines come with a two or three year warranty depending on where it's purchased from. So if there are any battery issues under warranty contact Bissell or the retailer for a replacement. Or just get the corded version. In saying that, I've had my original cordless Crosswave for two years with no issues.
Has anyone used this on slate tiles and happy with result? I have black slate throughout the house which means the floor surface is quite uneven and the grout lines are somewhat lower than the tile surface.I'm thinking that this wont be able to suitably vacuum or clean grout lines and likely to leave debris on some tiles where surface is quite uneven.
Suitable for slate as long as it's sealed. Will clean undulations in tiles as the microfiber roller is quite dense, and will vacuum debris from grout lines easily. It isn't a grout cleaner though - so don't expect it to remove discolouration from grout. The machine comes with a 60-Day Money Back Guarantee, so if not suitable just call Bissell to activate.
I’m finding this mop is leaving scuff marks on my floor (black lines when I pull the mop back). What am I doing wrong?
Make sure the wheels and the base of the machine are clean and free of any debris by wiping with a clean damp cloth. Then use the machine as normal to see if it persists. Try moving the machine with slower passes than you normally would with a traditional vacuum, with the backwards passes being pulled towards you over the same area covered with the forward pass. Nothing should be causing scuff marks if it's being used as intended. If it continues contact customer care by phoning 1300 BISSELL (247735) or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, along with photos of the issue.
