Do not use this company!!
We ordered shutters for 5 windows in the middle of March. The final payment was made at the end of April and the shutters delivered at the end of May. All shutters were the wrong size and could not be fitted. We requested a refund as we no longer trusted Blockout Blinds or their product. The refund was refused but a guarantee was made to re-order and fit the correct sized shutters which were re-measured by the installer. Today I received a phone call about sending someone out to re-measure the windows. I was furious as I was under the impressio...n that the new shutters had already been ordered. It's now the middle of June so heavens only knows when the shutters will finally arrive. When I phoned the company I could not get anyone to explain what's happening. Meanwhile we've paid fully for a product we don't have even though Blockout Blinds' warranty states there is a 'Guaranteed on-time delivery'. Do not trust what they tell you!!
Poorly named product and poor customer service and staff training.
In December 2019 I purchased a 'blockout blind' to make my then infant son's west facing bedroom dark enough for him to sleep which I made known to blockout blinds at all material times. I was informed that there would be a 'small' gap on either side of the blind and that 'some' light would come through but assured that it would do the job. the blind was installed in January while I was away with the Victorian Bushfires. Upon my return my wife asked if it was supposed to look the way it did. The pictures are taken around my son's usual bed time...being of the blind, and the inside of the room with the blind closed. The blind also has about a 7mm gap underneath on one side. This all cost me $440 which I was informed was a substantial saving on the standard price. Upon contacting Blockout Blinds by phone to obtain a refund they claimed that they would send me an email to which I should reply with photos. Three attempts were required to obtain said email. I sent the photos below. I also sent photos taken from a room where I installed Bunnings blinds at the cost of less than $30 for contrast (I will note that the quality of the blind and the roller mechanism of the blockout blind is notably superior, however it's ability to reduce light is substantially inferior due to the gaps around the edges). My complaint was made on the grounds of 'not fit for purpose' under ss 55 and 61 of the Australian Consumer Law. The woman with whom I was dealing kept referring to an industry guideline relating to gap tolerances, ignoring the fact that the complaint is one of performance, not construction. in one email she told me that they would have to send someone out because the photograph does not clearly show the gap. My reply that this was because the overwhelming amount of light coming through was the cause of this was overlooked. It has now been over 10 months since my initial complaint, and I have been unable to replace the blind with one that works because they refuse to make any concessions and will not agree to give me a refund until they inspect the product, which they will only do 2 weeks from now. I accept that COVID has prevented them from sending someone to inspect the blind. I do not accept that doing so was necessary to ascertain the ineffectiveness of their product.

The customer service administrator is rude and clearly lacks product knowledge. She needs to be retrained.

Amazing service from Start to Finish!
Have just had my outdoor Zip track blinds installed and couldn’t be happier. From the beginning with Sue at Waurn Ponds shopping centre to Renee for measure and quote, to Brett for installation it was perfect. We were kept informed all the way along a very professional customer service. Would highly recommend.
I booked a quote with this mob and was mucked around on two different days before they finally came and did the quote, then I waited and waited and waited for them to send me the quote via email. I rang the head office who on three different occasions promised the quote would be in my inbox by the close of business and three different occasions they failed to send it. In the end I cancelled it altogether and went with a local bloke here in Bendigo and got quick and highly recommended service - I should have gone locally right from the beginning
Jason's video saved the day (actually the night)
The chain had come off the bedroom blind (put up by previous owner). The blind is essential because a security light is right outside the bedroom window. I had no idea how to fix it but "Aha! Do what all the young people do": find a You Tube video. And there was Jason, calm and also clumsy, dropping the bits like me. Even though my mechanism was slightly different from the one he was showing, I managed to disassemble it and put the chain on. After quite a lot of frustrating effort and a moment when I gave up and decided to go to Bunnings and find a nice person to help, I had another go & even with my old arthritic fingers, got it back together. Woeful Service/Lack of Care/Faulty blind
Blockout Blinds is a slick online selling machine but in my case the service was woeful.
They are quick to demand their money; 50% the day I signed up but after that nothing but delays, excuses and faults. Even though one of the blinds didn't even fit, I had to follow up on a number of occasions to get them back out. After all that the cut down blind still didn't fit perfectly. Major fail!

Service was amazing, easy to choose colours and blind types, the booking of the install date was tailored to make my life easier, the installer was incredible, efficient and professional, and the end product looks amazing and has done an incredible job of blocking out all the light in my bedroom!

Drama begins.... I call for install august. They can't find order. I call every day for a week. Accused me of not paying full deposit. [name removed] had forgotten to adjust price due to price match so order not placed. Blah blah more drama .
Dec installed .so much for 4week turn around from Melbourne on no wait they are made in China!!

Veery poor service
We called in for a measure and quote and we paid the deposit on the day as the consultant promised an 8 week delivery time. We came to know that my partner lost her job due to COVID the next day and contacted the company within 48 hours of placing the order, to cancel only to be told that the order cannot be canceled. We made certain amendments to the order and had to proceed with this, as they could not offer a refund of our 50%. We received a message today (6 and half weeks later) informing us that our blinds will be ready beginning of July, ...which is almost 11 weeks from our order date. I enquired to ask about the timelines that they could not adhere by, they said due to COVID issues, there are delays, and that their timelines of 8 weeks post the official measure which happened about a weekend a had after we paid the deposit. This statement was false as the contract stated otherwise. Couple of questions for Blockout blinds, how come losing a job during COVID crisis and making an attempt to get in touch within 48 hours of paying the advance, could not qualify us for a refund if the orders and the timelines will only start once the official measure is completed, which happened a week later? If you could delay the orders due to the COVID crisis and if that's a warranted delay, how come my requests for refund due to the same issues could not be considered. Hope the considerations during crisis go either way. Never ever dealing with this company again
Poor quality material, useless warranty support, Poor communication between warehouse and reception
poor quality material, keeps splitting when opening and closing. multiple blinds replaced multiple times under warranty, last replacement was supposed to be a repair, they changed it to replacement waited over 4 months for technician to arrive on wrong date with wrong blinds (his order form correct but didn't match actual blinds made), 2 months later was told 1 more month due to out of stock definitely by end of May, now today been told will have to wait until July as still out of stock and Haven't received their order suggesting we use a diffe...rent material (however we have same blinds across 2 floors multiple windows all matching so would have 2 windows with different colour to the rest). Multiple warranty replacements over more then a 4 year period, with warranty replacements being replaced under warranty and technicians telling us they had used poor quality material but had changed supplier so replacements wont split, but then they split again
Have been waiting since February this year , so-called six-week installation. The first communication was in May a text to say the final payment was due within five days or storage and handling would be charged.I consider this to be rude considering have not heard from your company, and still not have what I've paid for, maybe you should reconsider your very false advertising. An apology wouldn't go astray either.

One star is too generous!! After two poor reviews, over $10,000 paid and waiting a year and a half, we still don't have what you promised. Cracked and damaged shutters poorly installed. A promise to have everything completed in January (that's over a year from commencement) and still no call. No response to an email or calls/texts.

Don't waste your time
Booked a free quote. The guy from Blockout Blinds came and measured the windows and showed samples. Then didn't bother to email me the quote. A complete waste of a day. Don't waste your time with this company.
Friendly staff, Terrible quality product, poor communication
multiple roller complete block out blinds installed, Multiple blinds split within first 12 months, all replaced however took around 6 months to be replaced, the replacements also split and lengthy delays to get replaced with no call backs when promised. Performed renovation and extended house, got block out blinds back for additional windows as wanted new blinds to match old, new blinds split, had to replace multiple of new blinds and old months within 12 months, was advised by technician due to poor quality material but had changed material su...pplier, when replacements replaced installer noticed creasing along bottoms of other blinds and advised due to poor quality manufacturer and bottom would need to be re stitched. took 2 of the blinds, when these 2 replacements delivered a further 6 months despite correct colour listed on paperwork were the incorrect colour, advised would be replaced within 2 to 3 weeks, 2 weeks later called for update was advised made but waiting on them to arrive to inspected, 24 hrs later received call advising hadn't been made as run out of material and would take a further 2 months Now hoping to have installed by end of month
Verishade blinds- 7 months and waiting
Do not use this company for verishade blind installations. Ordered October 2019 and now at 24th April 2020 and still not completed. Installer uneducated on how to install as they subcontracted out. Stay clear. Customer service non existent !!
