Shocking quality and BMW not willing to cover faults under manufacturer warranty. Really bad custome
Quality of wheels is really bad. Just within a year clear coating is peeling off the wheels.
BMW is bouncing me between different dealerships, as no one wants to fix the wheels under warranty as it will cost them $. BMW is showing no ownership of their warranty coverage.
Even after raising the issue with the head office twice (over the phone and in written email), there is no response or even acknowledgement that someone is looking in the customer complaint.
I am just about to take this matter to consumer court next week.

- 3 Series E90 (2005-2012)
I have wanted to drive a BMW my whole life and after just over a year of driving a 335i sedan on a novated lease I must say I am so disappointed and expected better for BMW. This car is a straight up lemon. 2 major problems which arose in the first year of using the car, first one a crack and subsequent leak in the coolant system. Second one a few months later the car just wouldn't start apparently due to "software problems" affecting the starter motor. We have had to pay around $4000 to date out of our pockets as the novated lease budget wasn't sufficient to cover the rip off prices that BMW service charge. Next car will not be a BMW thats for sure. Crap quality.
Perfect car and very comfortable
Our car drives like a dream. It is very smooth on the road and doesn't sway when you turn sharp corners (like previous cars I have owned). It is very comfortable and has enough room for the whole family. I wont be buying anything else but a BMW from now on.
BMW 323i faultless motoring
2010 323i solid great to drive. I change my oil every 10k and yes you can tell the difference if it's left any longer I tried Mobil 1 0/40 but found the Castrol 5w30 seems better nothing bad to say 8.3lts per 100ks serving is the secret to a great BMW yes i do my own oil changes it's easy cheers and happy motoring
Love this car!
Bought this car new in March 2017 and absolutely love it! The engine is powerful and the transmission is very smooth. Day to day driving is comfortable and fuel efficient (6l/100km), but when you switch to sport mode it becomes a real drivers car. Power and road holding is typically BMW and best in class. Very spacious cabin, front and rear seats are comfy and supportive for my family of four and a large boot as well. Interior is minimalist, well laid out and the idrive system is functional and easy to use. If there was anything I would change ...it would be the exterior colour which is black, although it looks great when it has just been waxed, it tends to show dust and dirt very quickly. Overall I am stoked with this car as it suits my needs perfectly. It is a car that I feel excited to drive each day and one that I have to keep making excuses to take out for a drive!!
Motor bike on wheels
Performance excellent. Handling ditto. Run flat tyres noisy and rough. Replaced them with Pirelli P Zeros. Sound system excellent. 21000k in 6 years. No problems. Dealers too dear for servicing. Oil etc $550??!!!
Midas $150. Condition based servicing schedule a good system. Paint outstanding. Soft alloys. Insurance $750/annum. Roof no leaks.
driving experience great, handles good, no noises, stops well. nice leather seats, plenty of leg room. reliability none.always breaking down. running costs through the roof. the most unreliable, expensive car i have ever owned.stay away from this series 3 model. you have to take it to a specialist car mechanic,
330i great sporty drive
The new 330i sedan with the M Sport package is a great drivers car, can be eco for great fuel economy or click sport depending on your mood or the road.Heaps of power with the twin turbo and very good handling
Fabulous for long distance driving, no stress driving, good sound system and quietness
Quiet, luxury with all the safety features of active cruise control and more cameras than a Hollywood movie
I bought the Vehicle New and at first I loved it although it didn't take long for that to change. The Car itself is extremely lovely in Looks, Paintwork, Wheels, Sunroof and Tint and Wheels all look nice. It is a Sport Line Model and has Low Profile Tyres which I do not like as they give a Hard Ride and are also very noisy. Just a few Weeks after purchasing the Car I was Driving through a Country Area (Luckily) and as I Turned Left the Horn sounded and did not stop. I pulled to the Side of the Road and tried everything I could to get it to stop...without much success although after about 5 or so Minutes it just stopped. When I tried to Restart the Car it went crazy again so I just left it were it was and Rang for Assistance. When the Mechanic arrived he had no answer for the Problem and just Disconnected the Horn altogether. Drove it for several Weeks before I was able to Attend a BMW Service Centre where they could find no Fault with the Horn. Long Story Short, I still have the Problem with the Horn Sounding on it's own intermittently which makes it very Stressful when I have to Drive it anywhere. Had a 4 Hour Drive on Tuesday to the Nearest Service Centre as the First Service was Due although I only had 6,800 Kms on the Clock that was just over 7,000 Kms when I arrived at the Centre. During the Drive down I heard a strange Whirring noise coming from the Back of the Car and knew what it was straight away. The Service Centre verified my worst thoughts and informed me that it needed a New Differential although I would have to Drive the Car the Four Hours North and bring it back another Day. They informed me that they would need the Vehicle for at least two Day's which means at least two more Nights Accommodation in a Hotel. The Vehicle is also Fitted with Automatic Door Locking and Seat Belt Tensioners as you Drive off and these only work around 2 out od 10 Times and BMW said that they cannot find any Fault. With the Horn Problem and now needing a New Diff and currently Driving it around with these Three MAJOR Problems and a great Lack of real interest from BMW, you could certainly Guess that I am a little more than just Disappointed. Of course an Offer of a New Vehicle is totally out of the Question as We, The People, are nothing more then Dollar Signs to any Company, no matter who they are. NEVER would I EVER suggest to anyone again to Buy a BMW as they are nothing more than Glorified LEMONS. It's certainly nothing more than a total Disgrace to have to Drive such a Faulty Vehicle around that dam well Costs a Small Fortune and never knowing when the rotten Horn will sound again and BMW can't even work out what the Problems are. I could go on for another Hour at least about how Disgusted and Angry I am but what's the use as no one really cares. Just give them the Money and disappear. So, if anyone is Interested in a Beautiful looking BMW, 2016, 330I Sports Line with only just over 7,000Kms, please let me know. Thank you all for your Precious Time, I really do Appreciate it.
A dream to drive. Sports and luxury combined.
2010 BMW 320i 4 door sedan is an absolute pleasure to drive. Quick, efficient and very responsive I love driving this car. The steering is a little heavier than usual but this gives you great road feel, responsive driving experience. Love the leather interior but above just love the solid feeling and safety of this car. This is especially important when your family is on board. Great value for money secondhand. Quality product.
LOVE MY BMW320D M SPORT "STORM TROOPER" HIGH GLOSS WHITE SEDAN and BRISBANE BMW
SIX MONTHS UPDATE - MAY 2017 - STILL LOVING THE BMW320D SPORT :) STILL DRIVES, FEELS AND SMELLS LIKE IT DID THE DAY I DROVE IT OUT OF BRISBANE BMW SALES YARD. GREAT FOR SHORTER PEAK HOUR CITY TRAFFIC AND TOTALLY JOYFUL ON THE WIDE OPEN HIGHWAYS. UP TO 1000 KILOMETRES PER $80 DIESEL TANKFUL MAKES THE WALLET JOYFUL AS WELL.
I bought my BMW320D M Sport in October from Brisbane BMW and both the buying experience and the BMW car have made my 2016.
The buying experience ...Love the car 100 per cent and Sales Manager Ed Mabrouk and the darlin...
My Favourite Car!
The driving experience is great, sports steering and handling when in sports mode. The exhaust opens un in sports mode and sounds pretty sporty for a BMW, very deadly. I love the interior to the maximum! I have a 2009 320i M Sport with Oyster Interior, exterior color is Le Mans Blue. The leather is quality although the air con adjuster plastic bits always break! I broke two of them in 2 weeks although it's not much of a vibe kill. It's a reliable car to me, never broke down. Only the time at the traffic lights when I realized you need your foot...on the break to get into drive or any gear for that matter, that would have looked like a break down from behind haha. The running costs are very economical, I use about 5 liters going 80kmp/h. I decide to run her on U98 which is expensive although you can use any fuel you like, depends on how long you want the engine to last and how much performance you wish.
Bought my 328i M Sport new in February 2013 and really happy with the performance, economy and sporting looks of this car. This is my fourth BMW and although my previous (E46 330Ci Coupe Special Edition) was a fantastic car, this one is almost as good. No problems apart from having the washer bottle filter cleaned as the tap water was causing the filter to clog up - now use de-mineralised water. Car looks fabulous with Individual paint (Tanzanite Blue) and optional piano black trim and matt alloy surrounds and black leather. Getting approx. 10....0 l/100km around town and 7.00 l/100km on a trip. 8 speed auto is very intuitive and with 'flappy paddles' and sports modes, is a joy to drive. O/E Bridgestone run-flat tyres were replaced on the rear (mainly due to a puncture which could not be repaired) but fronts are wearing well after 30,000 km. Service costs are very reasonable from BMW dealer and although CBS says that car does not need to be serviced, it is taken in every year. Four cylinder turbo motor sounds a bit ordinary at idle and revs out beautifully but still does not sound like an in-line BMW 6 motor.
GREAT WHILE YOUR BUYING THE CAR, BUT ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE AND BACK UP WARRANTY
They are great with the sales process and quick to sell you a car, but seriously absolutely disgusting on their back up warranty and service, especially Motorline BMW Logan, the service manager has the worst attitude and they definitely don't stand by their brand and product which is a real shame and what makes things worse, the attitude of the service manager is 'i don't care that you have had 12 Bmw's if you don't come back and buy a car again i don't care'.
I went from having an e46 which was the best car I'd ever had prior to owning two Saabs. It was my 21st present to myself. I got to 115,000kms and it was a cabrio 325ci. I paid 37 and sold it for 23. Not bad for 3 years of ownership and over 50,000kms. This was not my first BMW experience like this. I then fell in love with the styling of Audi A5 and the handling felt like silk. I owned my A5 and paid 46K, barely did any kms in it and the price plummeted in 12 months. The engine mount fell out at 30,000kms, oil leaks you name it, the window reg...ulators even dropped. I then decided to get an F30 which I ordered from Sydney to go back to what I knew as familiar and reliable. WHOLLY MOLLEY! this car had better economy then my Moms Honda Jazz!. The technology was simply amazing, the bluetooth was crystal clear, the sat nav was incredibly reliable. However voice command was about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike. All in all this was the BEST car i have ever had. I sold it at 92,000kms for 29K after paying 37 for it with 50,000kms. Once again they maintained their value. Only reason I sold it is I get bored of cars quickly however this car was maximum customer satisfaction! NOT 1 problem up to 100,000kms, cheap parts cheap to run. Only thing I didn't like was the interior was slightly less quality than the e46. I do read that most of these are South African assembled however when I opened the door handle it said it had german compliance. Maybe that had something to do with it. PROS - Incredibly reliable, economical car, longer wheelbase = plenty leg room in the back, mind blowing technology, cheap to run, cheap for parts, comfortable to drive, easy to use cruise control system, good value for money. CONS- Interior quality has suffered, gear shift trim and door ware. The car is a bit slimy looking. It has a real slick look to it which i found embarrassing and a bit ostentatious, this was my main reason for getting rid of it. I work in real estate and im really sick of people looking at my car and making comments like " you're a shark" or "I bet we paid for that".
An E90 Lemon
I bought a 2007 demo e90 323 and had it for 18 months. Within 2 weeks it went into limp mode & had to loaded onto a truck & taken back to the dealer. The problem persisted sporadically and was quite frightening, when coming to an intersection and accelerating to cross the road, the car would again limp across the intersection. As the car was under warranty the software was upgraded 3 times and the top half of the engine including overhead valves etc. was renewed, all to no avail. I had the chief techo from BMW Australia look at it. He insisted...on me driving, which I did to demonstrate the problem. He told me that it was my driving style which the engine management system was replicating. I knew there was nothing wrong with my driving style as this was the 6th BMW I had owned & driven over a 20 year period with no problems. My only alternative was to trade it on a Lexus & two cars later (an IS250X and IS350FSport) I have had no issues!!!
Great car to own pleasure to drive. Parts are easy to obtain I deal with Clickable Auto in Melbourne for my parts. Just the common issues and are easy to fix once you understand the design. Running costs are normal parts and repair are easy to obtain, but always check with guys at ClickableAuto.
July 24th 2017 Update: Great after care
Great customer care , I believe I am the 3 rd owner and I was impressed they found me through the car registration to replace airbags after TANAKA recall. Its great to see they care about a driver who is in one of their cars even after 13 years of purchase.
I recently purchase a 320i F30 Msport.
Amazing to drive. The gear change is so smooth.
The exterior is sleek and eye catching.
The interior gives you a sophisticated feel.
Running costs are a bit higher due to the type of vehicle however if you're worried about this then you probably shouldn't own a BMW.
Probably the best car I've ever owned
I bought this car with 186,000 kms on, much more than I would have liked but the car was in such immaculate condition I could not resist it for the price I negotiated. I love this car, the performance, the smoothness of the the transmission, the fantastic roadholding and handling and the huge brakes and did I mention the looks - best BMW body design ever and with big CSL replica mag wheels, it just grabs me every time I look at it. Down side is that I did have to have the air con evaporator replaced but my usual workshop did it for almost half ...what the dealer quoted. The door lock actuator failed and the engine still has a slight oil leak despite two attempts to correct it. In the first 12 months of ownership it has cost me about $3000 in repairs and maintenance but the pleasure this car gives me every time I drive it can't be exaggerated and I've owned some very nice performance cars in the past.
Don't want to let this car go
Bought this car brand new; drives beautifully; great road holding and handling. About to update to a newer model, but hesitant at letting this one go (I'm very attached to it). Never had a breakdown or needed major repairs, so repair and running costs have been minimal. Found a local BMW specialist mechanic who keeps my car in tip-top condition (anything that he doesn't know about BMW's isn't worth knowing) and charges a fraction of what the local dealership does to service the car.
Love my amazing 320d
For long time, when talking about a diesel car, I would think of van or truck. But when I test drove my 320d, it's just amazing, smooth, really give you some more kick compare to normal 320i, and fuel economy is much better. The sports line I got which add some more stylish trimming and better leather. Front and back leg room is enough for 4~5 ~180cm guys to sit reasonably comfortable, but don't expect as generous as 5 series. The down side would be the stop-start on the 320d give quite noticeable noise and kick when restarting, another one is the suspension is pretty firm given that it's a sport line, not comfortable enough if doing a long drive.
DON'T BUY .... ABSOLUTE LEMONS
Hi Guys, i bought a Second hand 2009 BMW 320i at approximately 65000km just under 2 years ago which i have just recently traded in (THANK GOD). Since i have had this car i have never been to the mechanic/dealership so many times where i actually knew the service advisers on a first name bases and was asking them how the family was... Everything that could go wrong went wrong since i had the vehicle, from Sensors, oil leaks, gasket, seals and many more problems. I was actually using more oil then fuel before i traded it in. I was always on time ...with my services. I emailed BMW Australia with my disappointment and their reply was "Due to the age of your vehicle we cannot help you in any way" Age of my vehicle the lemon is only 6 years old. A vehicle that's half the price and with more options then a BMW last a lot longer then this car. Will never be a BMW owner even if you gave it to me for free or even paid me !!!!
Bought new 2010 320i Executive. Had bad car accident, not 1 airbag deployed after 2 collisions: bounced off a car and then a pole.
Can I sue BMW?
2010 BMW 320i Rubbish
Purchased brand new, has been to the dealership on no less than 10 occasions. Added recent invoices up and it has had 14k worth of repairs luckily under warranty. Problem items, 6 months into ownership:
- mechatronics gearbox replacement 11k to fix (6000 km's)
- cylinder head cover replacement and vacuum pump replaced twice (36000 km's and 66000 km's)
- faulty ignition key
Every service was done by a BMW dealership in accordance with the service intervals specified. Car looks great as it is fully optioned. Never done a review before but would like to let people know my experience. It is getting traded asap. The last fault vacuum pump and head cover replacement was covered under Allianz Extended Warranty. No problems with the claim.
BMW 3 Series E90
I bought my wife a brand new 3 series Executive, paid $65k in 2005, within 10 months the auto blew up, great under warranty, what a Nightmare of a car. Every time we took this car to BMW the minimum cost was $1000. We still have the car, the engine light comes on often, we have replaced that many Valvetronic motors, we continue to get different lights all the time. 2 weeks ago I was offered $4000 as a trade in on a Merc, the dealer apologised to me for the insult, but as he said, the 3 series was the worst car BMW have ever sold. I would agree with him 100%.
NEVER buy a BMW, this piece of ......... cost us a fortune! Not Happy :(
