Racist Salesman at work
With my daughter recently getting her driver’s license, my wife and I went to look for a car for her as a present for completing her VCE and her birthday present combined. We had been looking and test driving cars for most of Saturday when we came across BMW dealership in Brighton. As expected for a Saturday afternoon, we were both casually dressed when we wandered onto the used car lot at BMW. We were approached by a salesman who asked us in a pompous manner what we were after (I felt like saying back to him – A TRUCK), however I refrained mys...elf and queried about one of the series 1 they had. I requested for a test drive to which he asked me to hold on, he returned and stated – “My boss has asked me to obtain 100 points ID from you to take the car out”. I was prepared to hand over my Driver’s License just as my wife and I had done earlier in the day with other Auto dealerships. I questioned him as to why 100 points ID, he replied that it was the norm and the law. For a fact, we had been driving brand new Audi and Mercedes earlier with proof of Driver’s License on its own. I then realised that they wanted me to produce 100 points ID due to the colour of my skin and the way I was dressed. I asked him whether it was because I am black and dress in Jeans and a t-shirt and jacket, a question that he was clearly not expecting as we left him gobsmacked. We left the dealership angry and told the salesman to stick his car. I returned to the dealership on the following Monday early from work in my suit and parked out the front door in my daily ride - Audi Q5. Upon entering the showroom, I couldn’t believe the number of salesmen prepared to assist me. The culprit came in from outside and noticed me straightaway, he came over and asked me whether I was back for the Series 1. I advised him that I had just purchased an Audi A3 up the highway about 2 hours earlier. I advised him that I would never set foot to that dealership ever and I would inform of that treatment to family and friends. Never judge a book by its cover; for that salesman, one less off his monthly quota and bonus!!!

Trivett Classic BMW an Exemplary Experience!
Have purchased vehicles locally (rural Victoria) four times previously and overall the experience has been lacklustre. Found a second-hand Jeep on Carsales.com at Trivett Classic BMW Sydney (wouldn't have previously considered travelling to Sydney to purchase). Dealt with Jimmy Bozikas, he provided accurate timely information and all necessary assistance (eg getting an NRMA inspection done, rego for drive home etc). Flew up in the morning, train to Parramatta. Showrooms are gleaming, complimentary barista made coffee (and cakes), courteous pro...fessional service, car was washed, full of fuel and setup for the drive home. It made the purchase memorable for all the right reasons and overall cost was same as buying locally (including the flight). Couldn't recommend Trivett Classic BMW highly enough.
A phone call!
A simple phone call!!
That's all it would have taken so I wouldn't have had to take a day off work and drive down especially to have the car serviced
When " the computer says NO " I would have thought this could have been ascertained before arriving at the service department
Incompetent BMW Service To Avoid At All Cost
My 5 series recent regular 110,000 km service at Trivett Classic BMW at Parramatta Sydney was a horrible nightmare. I was told that the rear suspension was worn and need replacement. The work was done at a quote of $5,000. One day back from the service the rear of the car suddenly dropped 10cm, rear suspension lost all dampening. Car became jiggly and too dangerous to drive and had to be towed back. After a lot of wait and service managers in suits running around the place I was told the rear suspension air bag was leaking. Even assuming th...is was a preexisting condition of wear, I do not understand why it was not detected a day before when they were replacing the suspension. I could not dispel the possibility that shoddy workmanship was the cause. There is more. They did an oil change and the next day there was a big oil puddle under the car. Took it back and they said the seal for the oil level sensor was leaking. It was perfectly fine the day before they changed the oil. Another $2500. My complaint to the after service customer survey was completely ignored and got no response from them at all. BMW should revoke this shoddy dealership as they sully the brand and trash BMW service. My next car will not be a BMW because of this experience.
BMW Brighton - Incompetent Finance Department
Firstly I love my BMW and have loved my previous BMW too.
It's been nearly 2 months since I asked a finance question from BMW Brighton and I'm yet to hear back.
The service is impeccable when you're buying a new car or getting your car serviced but God forbid you need to alter a loan because your job conditions have changed. I'm officially fed up. It's disgusting and I think my next move will be to cancel my direct debit repayments - I bet they'll call me then!!!
Done Deal, Great Effort from Justin Purvis & Richard Hats Off Mate!!
due to a lot of bad experience on car dealerships we became a very hard client.
me & my wife been shopping around to upgrade our car, we've been everywhere and turned down heaps of offers but BMW Sylvania NSW (OMG!!!) was great and they took care of everything from the moment we came in, the deal was effing fantastic!!!! and the approach was very personal & professional.
Hats off to Justin Purvis & Richard for a fantastic job they did (I apologies for being an A/s/s :) :) lol )
you will be impressed with this gentlemen.
I will absolute...ly recommend this dealership for everyone who is a BMW fanatic and wanted a change. Once again great effort & commitment gentlemen ( Justin & Richard) it's a Done Deal!!!! Thanks Heaps!!!! you guys are brilliant!!!!!
Liars, arrogant and rip offs.
I took my BMW X3 in to check the transfer case as it wasn't functioning correctly and bringing up fault lights on the dash. I was told that it was a faulty "plastic" gear in the transfer case. I found on line that this was a very common problem with this model yet not a recall item. I was told it would cost $8,000 to replace transfer case as they did not repair or replace the gear. After complaining as the car had done less than 90,000 kms, they dropped the price to $4,000? I told them that I wasn't paying that much for a common problem and tha...t I bought a BMW as I was led to believe they were a quality vehicle. I believed this was their responsibility and discussed further through their complaints department at their head office. In the mean time they wanted to keep the vehicle there for two days for a recall item that they were responsible for, the timing belt, where I found out they had to remove the motor to replace this! Five days later, with no car and no loan car being made available we finally got the car back. I drove off and got 200M down the road and found that the car was shaking that much that at the stop lights your teeth chattered! I took it straight back and was told that this was normal for about 1000kms as it needed to "find itself" (quality car?). After another WTH moment an argument with the service manager and then them bringing out their Cockney mechanic covered in tattoos and telling me he has worked on all the classic euro cars and this was normal! Not sure if this was to impress me or intimidate me. It did neither! Long story short, the car still vibrates, when they replaced the motor, the drivers side shocker wasn't installed correctly so every time you drive over a bump there is a loud rattle (old cockney mate isn't as good as he thinks he is) and my own mechanic repaired the transfer case with a $20 plastic gear and $150 labour. I will never buy another BMW and have save many who were going to and decided to purchase another brand. The people at BMW, not just in Adelaide as i dealt with their head office also, are not to be trusted. They are arrogant lying cheats. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT buy a BMW, you will be disappointed if not within the first few weeks but eventually you will realise what they are all about! You would expect a company like BMW to back their brand 100% but they don't. Once you have bought a BMW you are stuck with the problems and all the excuses that go with it. February 18th 2018 Update: Unethical, deception, extortion! Can anyone assist me of the direction needed to be taken with the poor service received from many Australian BMW dealerships. BMW are happy to sell the vehicles but as soon as you have a problem they don't want to know you! Firstly they hit you with an extreme repair cost. If you complain as "it should be warranty" for instance, they say they will ring BMW Australia to which they come back with, "we'll go you halves". if you stand strong and push harder they then say they will supply the parts and the customer can pay for the labour while all the time BMW are usually responsible for the repairs 100%! I have had multiple problems with my X3 which on investigation on BMW forums, are very common problems yet BMW do not acknowledge this. On my latest issue, and the final straw, BMW Adelaide replaced the timing chain as a recall. When my car was returned it had a very bad vibration when idling, so bad my teeth chattered and you couldn't recognise anything in the revision mirror as it shook so much. I took it straight back to BMW Adelaide and was told that the motor/computer had to "find itself" and would need up to 1000km to do so?? I took the car back later as this vibration did not get better, but worse. This time I was told that I had a bent exhaust valve?? They said that "these things happen". I challenged them that it could only be a timing issue that would cause damage to a valve. They changed the timing chain and the car was vibrating which is either caused by bad timing, balance rods, etc...The car was fine before they "fixed" it!! I am sick of the lies and crap that this dealer, and looking at the many reviews, most other BMW dealers in Australia get away with. Surely BMW Global know about this very poor customer service, yet it continues!!
The used car sales team treated us like a burden as soon as the sales contract was signed. When we picked up the car a few days later it was filthy, the radio did not work, parts were missing and the battery was not properly connected. Even though I voiced my complaints multiple times none of the issues were ever resolved by them.

Brilliant Brisbane BMW Dealership
I have just purchased a new BMW X5 from the Brisbane BMW Dealership in Ann Street, Fortitude Valley. My husband and I found the experience to be exceptional. Our sales guy, Joe, was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were in great hands, without feeling the harsh pressures and uneasy feelings that are often associated with buying a car. Joe was extremely knowledgable and easy to talk to. He had a fantastic, professional approach to his work and us, the clients. We wouldn't hesitate to go back and buy our next BMW from him. Nothing was too much trouble, and their communication and attention to detail was second-to-none. Thank you very much for the best car buying experience we've ever had. :-)
Great management and follow up
I dropped a car off for a factory repair and during the process the paintwork was damaged. I worked with BMW for a resolution and they repaired it free of charge. Following up with me to ensure I was happy with the repair. I would recommend Doncaster BMW.
Avoid this dealer - there are far better available
Spoke to a Motorline salesman as I wished to purchase a vehicle for my wife. Explained on the phone my requirements and budget. He said they had 3 vehicles available. Long story, but it ended with a lot of wasted time, a car that did not exist and a very rude salesman. Avoid these people as there are other, far better dealerships available to help. Wife loves her new BMW (bought elsewhere - amazing service)
Unreliable,cannot be trusted
BMW dealers on West terrace did servicing of my car and within a week I started getting a sign that oil need to be refilled. I checked all my paperwork from servicing and found that they have charged me. $300 for changing the oil. I went back to them and they refilled the oil and asking me for more money. I am not sure if they ever cleaned and refilled the oil. I don't even think they did any servicing and charged more than $1000. There was no apologies instead they were arrogant.
Pathetic service, unreliable and liars.
I think they just wash and clean your car and don't do anything and will charge you more than any other service providers. I will never go back to them.
Very poor Finance service
There is no proactiveness from the sales or the finance guys. I had to call them multiple times to follow up and check on the progress of my finance application. I have not received any single call from them. He sends an email or text message asking me to call. And when I call back, they are never available to answer. Very poor communication. Throughout the 3 weeks of engaging with them, either the sale rep is on leave or the finance guy or the sales manager. So I had to try different numbers / contacts, chk their leave schedule and process my sale. Thank God that our loan application was withdrawn. I don't want to be dealing with these guys anymore.

Rip Off - Get a Second Opinion
I have a BMW 2012 3 series that developed a rattle in the front. I took the car in for an inspection to determine the cause of the rattle as it was getting more notable. I left the car with North Shore BMW for a day to determine the root cause only for them to come back with a quote of $4400 to replace the steering due to what was described as "a small amount of freeplay in the steering rack". And I paid for the inspection. I questioned the analysis and the reasoning behind the replacement of the whole steering system as I know steering racks d...o have the ability to be adjusted for "freeplay". I took the car for a second opinion at a local mechanic who fixed the problem by tightening up some nuts that had come loose and costed far less. Problem Fixed for a tenth of the cost and I got a full detailed report. I have followed up with some further investigation via the Bimmer Forums and confirmed the solution to be adjusting the freeplay nuts and not the replacement of the whole steering system. This is my second negative experience with North Shore which now raises questions about their competence and truthfulness. As a result I will not be using or recommending North Shore for any future work due to a lack of confidence with them to achieve the right outcome without the gouging.
BMW Kingsway - Pathetic Service
Went to BMW Kings way for 15K service and safety checks. Two days later on Saturday night with my family going to a dinner with other family friends Oil Top Up warning showed up. Rang road side assistance ... know nothing how to assist, maintenance vehicle turned up after more that an hr wait. Had no idea what to do, no oil on him, no service offered, etc. 10:00PM with family in market car park cold windy night ...He left us embarrassed and upset.
Rang service on Monday and end up speaking to the service manager who got all mouthful justific...ations and saying apologies ... didn't offer any vehicle checks or compensation to comfort client of a prestigious car for all the hassle and embarrassments I gone through and for any peace of mind ... huh! Highly disappointed with their manners and way handling the complaint ... I got all prestigious cars and found Zagame Offers five star service though.
Sydneysiders need to know about these great mechanics
Recently I had an issue with my BMW X5 turbo in that it had no power. I left it the BMW dealer in Brookvale for 3 days and they could not diagnose the problem, I knew what was coming next (start replacing expensive parts like the turbo in an effort to fix it) so I took it to BEMW in castle hill. Mark is so professional and he really is a grass roots mechanic, they found the fault and repaired it within 24 hours, not by plugging it into a computer but by diagnosing it the old fashioned way- by looking! It was a small split in one of the vacuumed...hoses connecting the 2 turbos. An inexpensive repair although a little labour intensive. This is not my first experience with their workshop and it definitely won't be the last! I can't recommend them highly enough.
I attended BMW Waverley today for the first service on my car. Received a call yesterday confirming the service. Was greeted and taken through to a lovely lounge area. Served by a very friendly lady who made a great latte. Sam came and saw me and took me through the details of the servicing of the car. Very clear, descriptive and professional. It only took 1 hour, which just flew. My car was washed and vacuumed and promptly returned to me in perfect condition. I can't wait for the next service. they took great care of me and my car. Very impressed.! Thank you BMW Waverley.
Got my first service for a brand new car at this dealership. Returned the car dirty though a wash was promised, damaged the alloys while test driving and denied responsibility.
I had to wait 30 minutes on the road waiting for the pickup.
Staff was so rude, no apologies AT ALL forget about rectification.
Questions & Answers
Just tried to purchase a vehicle from a dealer in W.A. Salesman said there was no problem and did 25 to 30 a week. I agreed verbally to use their finance quoted at 5.6 %
Sent a holding deposit in view of this and expected no problems (had not signed anything).
Told next day by salesman that he didnt know what was involved.in interstate transport. My reaction..????
Rings me Monday and says I need an address in WA I can use. Why? He then said "otherwise car is sent without rego"
Then changes story later that day and says plates stay on car and will be shipped rather.than trucked.
Now.says plates have to come off before sending again.
I ask for holding deposit back.
Agrees but now says they only bank one day a week and I have to wait 6 days?
Does anyone else feel like this is.odd?
Is this right concerning rego (my friend bought a car from Perth and it arrived with plates and rego, he only had to get a blue slip and transfer ownership within 7 working days)
And can I expect my holding deposit back.
Can somebody recommend a good place (none dealer) to get my 2016 X5 brake work done, around Melbourne
Need info on a former used car manager bmw kings way has anyone had any dealings with Luke waters?
