NEVER EVER Use this company

Absolutely no business ethics or customer service. Will take your money for unavailable accomodation and then refuse to refund, even with written authorisation from accomodation provider. BEWARE Show details

Arrogant Dutch Company that takes 2-3 days to respond to any complaint, then Blames you for the problems‍

Absolute terrible customer service, bookings are only as good as their pathetic excuses for cancelling your booking 30 days prior to your trip.
12 months advanced booking count for nothing more than,,”your transaction was unsuccessful, please follow this link to pay” even though the funds were in the nominated account………..
NEVER AGAIN WILL I BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.

No longer a loyal customer, complaint handling non existent

I am a level 3 genius member and recently had to cut short a prepaid hotel booking as there were aircon and electricity supply problems with our room. I notified customer service that our room had been without power for 4 hours as fault aircon tripped the external supply switch and it took 2 hours and 3 trips to reception to get maintenance to fix. In 1 night we had 2 faults. All was documented and hotel refused to switch us to identical vacant room next door. We left after 2 nights and requested refund for 2 nights prepaid for 4 nights. Hotel then told booking.com we were no show for entire booking, and after 2 months came up with more lies, which they say they have to abide by. Never book with them Show details

No assistance with issues

Booking.com is fine until you have an issue in which case they won’t help you at all. Pretty sure it’s just a bot responding to emails, or otherwise it’s a generic apology response which isn’t tailored at all to your personal circumstances.

The Genius program is crap anyway, you can find the discounts elsewhere. Plus the “rewards” your booking unlocks are not discounts at all, and sometimes even more expensive than the standard price you would pay for whatever the discount is offering.

I don’t see any point using this kind of third party booking service if they don’t provide any kind of customer service or conflict resolution. I’ll be booking directly from now on - at least I know my booking won’t get lost. Show details

Dishonest Theiving company

I booked accommodation in Australia, I am living in Austalia and paid in Australian dollars and got slugged for a $10:48 foreign transaction fee. This is just stealing and is an add on to the advertised fee which was not disclosed. Show details

Avoid and use reputable sites

My daughter booked and prepaid a room through booking.com for the The Architect in Washington DC. She is 20 years old and was refused to stay as she is under 21. She was refused a refund as it was non refundable. They didn’t advise of the age requirements at the time of booking or accepting the payment. Booked flights and then needed to cancel them. Three months later, and literally days on the phone, speaking to a different person each time, getting a different opinion each time, no paper trail. No point in being Genuis Level 3 priority queue to customer service

Have been a client for many years now. Yes their customer service is prompt but once I provide one proof of evidence as to an ovecharge, need to provide a futher proof then I need a tax invoice breaking down all the charges before they consider approaching said property in an endless exhaustive loop. Only their for the accommodation providers and their cut of commission, primarily the rest is smoke and mirrors. Show details

They rip you off

I had to book a room at the last minute on the Sunshine Coast in Australia. The room was advertised for $242. By the time I clicked and booked it Booking.com charged me $473.
The hotel receptionist could not believe it. I have used them in the past - never again. Show details

I would not trust them
In my experience they made promises for extra benefits and services bit never delivered. Their"customer service' was essentially non-resistant as they just passed you on from person to person with no real action provided.

I should have checked reviews before using this service.
I did not attend the accommodation and after requesting a refund did not receive any response after several attempts. Also, unable to leave a review of to motel ( Sovereign Gold Coast) as the booking code was cancelled. Show details

So Frustrated! Never using this again!

After multiple phone calls and many hours spent on the phone to get an invoice still haven’t been able to get one. I have never had such terrible customer service. I have been told many different things from different people. Not one of these people have given me the same answer. They go back on there word.

Don’t book flights

Booked a flight overseas on one ticket. However they split the flight and layover and now I have to Recheck in during the layover. Poor false customer service

I used these to book my up and coming Japan holiday. selected to pay later however one booking took funds straight away. needed to amend that booking but it would not let me so i cancelled and rebooked. Now here is the problem, trying to get a refund, the website says 24/7 customer service, you cant talk and to date i have 20 replies (suggest automated) with different reference numbers telling me to call but when i call it wont accept the booking number. if i knew this prior, i would not have used them and will never use again. false advertising stating 24/7; call or email. i am in australia and there is no contact for here Show details

Charging higher than listed fees

DO NOT use booking.com for any 'Partner' listings. Even though the price may be listed in AUD and you think that you have transacted in Australian dollars, they will actually charge you in USD, which means that with the currency exchange and foreign transaction fees you will pay at least 5% more than the advertised price! Show details

Ripped off in Vietnam through a booking.com reservation

Have emailed, called numerous times, and been hung up on several times. Have all the evidence but get nowhere. Useless overseas call centre trying to manage a very simple issue. And I'm suppose to be a Genius level 3 customer with gold status customer service. Absolutely disgusting. Out of pocket $1200. Show details

Never use this web site

This morning I noticed in my credit card account that Booking.com has removed $312 from my account for a booking at accommodation at Maleny Lodge Maleny Queensland Australia. I have not booked this accommodation. I’ve not received any type of confirmation via email to say that I’ve booked it, either from the lodge, or Booking.com to try and contact them to get my money back has been a fruitless effort so far I’ve contacted my bank to assist me with the problem, useless piece of rubbish, this website and people

Buyer beware - Booking.com scam

We have booked and paid for accommodation to the tune of 960 Euros and booking.com emailed us to say they cancelled the booking “at no charge to us”. We have contacted booking.com
via phone and email no fewer than 10 times and have still not received our money back or any sign of resolution. I have never had any difficulties with booking.com however this experience has left me very wary of using this booking agency again.
I think they have been hacked and are not disclosing this to their customers. Show details

Burnt again!

Booked an apartment in Bengaluru for 10 nights, my partner was arriving for 8 nights before me. On arrival, no blankets, towels, toilet paper, toiletries or kitchen cleaning gear most of which is defined in the listing details. The accomodation refused to supply so called booking.com customer service, they said they would call them and rectify within 24hrs. I then recieved 3 emails the last one saying they could not verify what I was saying. Like many people I am learning not to use these type companies anymore. Airbnb where you deal direct with the accomodation owner or direct on their site is the way to go. If you have a problem they just deflect you. Hotels.com is the same.

Avoid this service they are scams and support fraud

Had to cancel a property due (40 minutes after booking ) as car with disabled daughter breaking down, asked for at least the second night to be refunded. Not only did they refuse, after receiving confirmation of cancellation request they reactivated it, and claimed we were there despite being 6 hours away. Then claimed can’t cancel till you checkout and it impossible to checkout if you haven’t checked in. Needs to be reported to scam watch Show details

BEWARE

I made a reservation in August 2023 for 5 nights stay in Spain for March 2024 , My family and I are looking forward to it. Out of the blue they cancelled my reservation. The reason given is "invalid credit card". It is full of crap.
In fact we just came back from our holidays with several bookings with booking.com and those places were charged to the same card. There was no issue at all.
What is more interesting now is I just made a "Non refundable - Pay Now" reservation using the same card, and it was processed immediately.
When contacted by phone regarding the COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED CANCELLATION, all they can say is "SORRY"
Booking.com of today can be unscrupulous, compared to what it used to be. It is such a shame! Show details

Ruined my family’s trip

Don’t book accommodation through booking.com
They modified our accommodation the night before our arrival saying our checkin was the 28th January instead of tomorrow 26th January. Rang the accommodation directly and they said booking.com changed it. Rang booking.com and they say the accommodation changed it. Show details
