No book and no communication

Ordered book 2 weeks ago and nothing has arrived and no communications regarding any delays (order no: 8772513)
All info on website indicates product should have arrived within a week.
Looks like it’s not an isolated incident looking at a previous reviewer.

Hi CJ1, I've had a look and I can see that the item you purchased has a shipping time frame of 7-10 business days. The item has come in and been dispatched today, exactly on the 10th business day. You'll receive an email later tonight with the tracking details, and it should arrive to you tomorrow or Monday at the latest. no idea whats going on - updated

i placed an order a week before uni started and an email the same day said my order was processed. 3 weeks into uni now and it still hasnt even been shipped and i havent recieved any email updates either. i emailed the store last week and havent had a reply yet. i emailed them again tonight but after reading other peoples reviews i might not bother waiting for anything anymore.

disappointed & annoyed because ive bought from this place at least twice before and those orders went fine. bought from them again because of the good name and it was cheaper than a textbook from the uni shop but i mightve just lost +$100 instead. falling behind on course content while ive been waiting for this to get sorted out too.

update - the book arrived today like the estimate said it would. i also got a reply to my email about cancelling my order. i was told i can send the book back (at my own cost) for store credit. not an ideal solution when my problem was that the book was not being sent to me in the first place. no word about why it even took so long.

so the book arrived but im still not happy with the service and wont be coming back.

Atrocious communication

I ordered on the 20/02/19. I haven’t recieved any notification about the update of my delivery. I have emailed, no reply. I ring and I am on hold for half an hour before I lose patience.

This is my first experience with this company and I guarantee I won’t be coming back.

May I suggest that your company provide a more streamlined and hospitable approach for enquiring about outstanding orders? Perhaps a phone enquiry service that doesn’t require half hour waiting times? It shouldn’t take customers badgering and / or posting poor reviews for Booktopia to provide adequate customer service... I found your website and catalogue extremely helpful. But, there needs to be engagement with customers, post orders being placed. Poor performance on pre-orders

Booktopia is fine if you are after in stock items, but terrible with pre-orders. On 13 February I ordered two titles: first to be published on 26 Feb; second to be published on 5 March. I have received neither, and my order still says that they are NYP (yes they are published). Both have 7-10 business day delivery timeframes. The second title's information says "more stock arriving soon". Inconsistency everywhere. Booktopia have not responded to two of my queries - am not sure their messaging system works anymore. Amazon AU have both available/in stock. I didn't bother using Booktopia's latest Free Delivery offer to pre-order April titles because the small $ saving isn't worth the supply disappointment.

Pretty good

I’ve been ordering from booktopia for a few years now. I find the range and prices excellent as well as the fact they have afterpay. The shipping however is extremely slow, A lot of the time your item isn’t in stock and needs to be ordered from the supplier which slows things down. They forgot my calender after nearly a month I called them to find out what was happening (only call if you have a fair amount of time up your sleeve as it takes some time to get through) anyway, they sent it out via express and credited $10 off it which I was happy with. I will continue using booktopia as I don’t mind waiting for things and haven’t really ever had any issues except for said issue which was rectified.

My new go to for online book sales

This was a first for me as I'm too used to buying straight from bookstores.
Now Booktopia will be my first port of call every time.
Ordering was simple, e-mail updates kept you informed as to how shipping was progressing, the book arrived in no time at all and it was well packed and in A1 condition.
Most importantly it was significantly cheaper than numerous bookstores and even a bit cheaper than other online suppliers.

Misleading and unreliable information and shipment details.

I am extremely disappointed at this service provider. I had never used it before and decided to purchase a book that I currently need for University. I placed the order on the 25th of February and, although the confirmation indicated the parcel will be received within 9days at the latest, I still have not received. My Unit has already started but I am unable to complete assignments without that book. This has put in a lot of stress and I would not recommend this service to my friends. Moreover if I try to track my parcel with the number provided on my page, it says that it is non-existent.

Dissapointed

Paid on 27 th Feb but shipped only on 11 th March. Doubt whether I get this in time tostudy for the exam. Hope atleast get this two three days before the exam. But it was mentioned that the book will be delivered with in nine days :)

Poor Customer Service

I ordered a textbook that I needed for uni only to get a email days later stating that it wasn’t in stock (which wasn’t stated when I ordered). Contacted to get a refund and they stated they couldn’t refund because it was due to be shipped out 24-48 hours later- even though the book hadn’t even left the store. I have tried re emailing twice to say to cancel the order with absolutely no reply. Now I’m a huge amount out of pocket because of their poor communication! Will never shop there again!

Communication is lacking

I have not received my order now for two weeks promised date. They don' t answer email queries even at second request. UNI started last week already and I have no idea if I will even receive the books in this term. These are all LexisNexis books. I will not make this mistake again and will go direct next time or to the co-op

Hi Robyn, Sorry to hear this! Try this: Open the eBook in your Library and tap the middle of the screen once to bring the menu up. Along the green banner is an option for "Contents". Choose Chapter 1 and this will take you to the beginning of the book. If you're still seeing blank pages after this let me know and I'll have someone get in touch with you. i have an samsung galaxy tab a 10.5 and running Booktopia Reader. when i open book to read the fonts are too small to read. how do i increase the size of these?

Hi Geoff, Thanks for contacting us. To increase the font size of a book, open the eBook on your device then tap the screen once to bring up the menu. Once you’ve done this, click Settings in the bottom right hand corner. There will be section called "Text Size" and a plus and negative sign that will increase or decrease font size respectively. Tap the plus sign a few times and the font size will increase. If the plus sign goes grey then you're not able to increase the size any more. Once you’ve done this, make sure you click Save in the top right corner to save the changes. I hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else. Kind regards, Jessica Customer Service
