Throw away once battery is gone
Bought new for $259 and had it for 2 years. Then battery would not retrain charge for more than 5-6 minutes. Rang Bosch. First told that battery can't be replaced and later that it would cost $212 plus postage. Show detailsWouldnt recommend
It was great straight out of the box, i was very impressed with it, however, it went downhill from there. The head of the handle started to crack within a few months and completely broke within 6 months. The battery life also got shorter and shorter, now I only have a 3 min run time. I have since read up on the product and have found people are having the same issues. I wouldnt recommend it. Show detailsHi Jake H, Thanks for your review, we appreciate the feedback. The vacuum moves well between different surfaces like tiles and carpet. Good suction level on turbo mode but the battery runs out quite quickly. The handle cracked while vacuuming my carpet but Bosch were kind enough to offer a replacement. Show details
absolute worst
I researched a lot before buying this and bought because of its great reviews. I am genuinely surprised by the many good reviews, as I can not agree at all!Never have I seen a vacuum failing at even the basics. Worst purchase I have done in a long time. I've had this for 2 years or so, really tried to like it.
Spent $300 so I was expecting some value for the money. Could've bought a Kmart Vacuum for 1/3 of the price and been better off.
Lets start with the battery, unless you have it on low (which hardly has any suction), the battery won't ... Read more
last 5 minutes. It works better on carpet than hard floors. On hard floors you basically just push the dirt around as it won't go under to be sucked in. But DO NOT pick it up whilst on to put it on top of the dirt (only way it will vacuum it up), as it will literally shoot everything you've vacuumed out and all over the room. Also don't turn it off and pick it up... because all the dirt will just fall out of the vacuum. (see video, wanted to upload 2 but could only upload 1) so here a link to the second video https://youtu.be/WTcSWM76F98 I had to buy another vacuum and basically only use the BOSCH one when I need to vacuum something up quickly (like crumbs after kids breakfast), but even then I regret not getting my cord vacuum as I always end up with more mess due to dirt falling or shooting out of this thing.Hi Candy F., Thanks for your review, we appreciate the feedback. The vacuum worked very well for the first 12 months on both tiles and carpets. The removable hand vacuum was also very handy for cleaning the car. However, the biggest issue with this vacuum is the battery life which has gradually deteriorated. It went from about 30 to 40 minutes of run-time on a full charge to about 5 minutes now. I thought it was just normal but having seen the same reviews from other users, I'm now resigned to the fact that I have a $170 non-functioning vacuum. Very disappointed as I have other Bosch electrical goods that work very well. Show detailsHi Lamm, Thanks for your review, we appreciate the feedback. I purchased this over 12 months ago and initially was very happy but the battery lasts no longer than 3 minutes. Bosch contacted me and sent a new charger. Great to see a company that looks after its customers. Show detailsFrom Awesome to Awful in Performance and Charge
I've had my Athlet for 2 years and when new could get through my kitchen, dining, lounge and entrance wooden floors in one go, sometimes putting it on turbo (#3) and it cleaned 100%.Now, it is not lasting half as long, forget turbo, it runs out in 2 mins-(tested) & leaving rolls of dust behind. I clean the brushes & all the filter and I have checked for blockages. So disappointed. Show details

Love this vac on both carpet and floor boards. Flexible and easy to use however after owning this vac for 17 months the battery now dies after not even five minutes of vacuuming on level 2! shame considering this cost $298 and doesn't even last two years. Show details · 2No longevity
Have had this product for just over 2yrs & the battery now lasts less than 5mins once taken off the charger. Used on carpet & lino surfaces, the suction power is quite poor, leaving fine debris even when taken immediately off charger. The fine particles seem to stay in the vacuum head & then are left on the floor where the vacuum is stored during charger. Show detailsOk, but has a fault
Loved at first, convenient, lighter, better than my sisters Dyson! Easy to pull out daily and clean up the crumbs my toddler has dropped... but within 3 weeks of use the brush stopped rotating, afftecting the performance and ease of using on my carpet, suction has seemed to suffer was going to return it then it started working again! Since then It intermittently works then doesn’t work. Now it’s been a 2 months of the brush not rotating I’m trying to follow up warranty and have it fixed or replaced. Was great, now power keeps cutting out intermittently
Loved, loved, loved this as an intro to cordless stick vacuums, and always felt I should have got the model up with the additional tools. For the past 3 months though on certain angles, or just because, the power cuts, and then starts up again - just as I wonder if it's out of charge, it starts again. Not great for around edges of furniture or corners, but great suction for quick where-the-hell-are-those-crumbs from kid related clean ups. Show detailsSo far so good
Bought this unit three months ago and so far so good. It does the job of giving 4 bedrooms and three living areas (shared with two big dogs and a cat) a reasonable clean with one charge. It's OK to clean after and the replacement micro filters are cheap on eBay. We like that it can stand in it's spot on its own.The one improvement I'd suggest: Some areas of our house are quite dark as we keep the shutters closed in summer. So I'd rather replace the six silly blue LEDs with one strong, white LED to illuminate the area ahead of the unit - without blinding the operator. Show details · 1
New battery available?
This has been a great vacuum cleaner, but like many other people have found after 3 years the battery isn't charging anymore and it cuts out. Is the solve for this to simply get it serviced and repaired? A vacuum cleaner isn't a mobile phone. Was hoping to get a lot more life out of it. Show details · 4Great for pet hair not the best battery life
Great suction for pet hair I give it that! But battery on full turbo only lasted 20 mins and this was after first use with a fully charged battery. It's not great for edges of the rooms. Show detailsHi Bianca P, Thanks for your review, we appreciate the feedback.... Read more

We bought this vacuum January 2016. It performed great picking up all the pet hair etc.Problems: 1: Short battery life
2: Can't get under beds or low furniture
3: The handle snapped. After a year and a half of use the handle near the top just snapped. We didn't drop or bang it around - it just snapped. When we took it back they accused us of abusing the machine. If this happens to you there is a 2 year warranty and you should get a replacement or refund. Looking at other reviews it has happened to others. Show details

Why does the red light keep flashing
I too have a Bosch Athlet with a failing battery (lasts 5 minutes or so on a full charge). Our local dealers do not carry spare parts and have referred me to the Bosch 1300 contact number. However I find myself on "hold". No answer from many attempts. I have also left my details on their answering service, but have had no response. I am disappointed that a $350 purchase has failed this early in its life, and that Bosch and or their dealers do not seem to have a system to deal with product quality issues. Does anyone know another way to contact Bosch? Does anyone know a dealer that carries spare parts (specifically batteries)?
I contacted Bosch customer care on their 1300 369 744 number a couple of weeks ago and got my limited operating time problem sorted - and mine was 8 months out of warranty. They ended up replacing it.... Read more
I didn't have the frustration you're having with being put on hold (well maybe for 5 mins) and them not getting back. I don't know what's going on.Thanks Ian, I’ll keep trying
