Good vacuum

The vacuum moves well between different surfaces like tiles and carpet. Good suction level on turbo mode but the battery runs out quite quickly.

The handle cracked while vacuuming my carpet but Bosch were kind enough to offer a replacement. Show details

Just loving this

I am just loving my Bosch Vacuum, it’s so easy and handy to use. With full charge I can do my whole house on middle setting. I was amazed when I use this first time and how nicely it took all dirt away, once we played Holi (Indian festival played with colours) my alfresco was full of colours and I was surprised with the cleaning what this vacuum did, My friends got impressed too. Also it picks up the dirt from corners too. So happy with it.  Show details

This is great! Wonderful customer service

Love this vacuum. Our first one was over a year old when it stopped sucking effectively. After showing Bosch they replaced it with a new one! Excellent company to deal with. Show details

Battery problem

All went well for the first couple of years on carpet and wood flooring, but then the charging became slower and slower until last week when it didn't charge at all. I wish I had reported it sooner and got it mended within the 2 year warranty!! For a global brand this was poor, to say the least. Show details

Battery dies after 5 minutes

We bought the Bosch Athlet about 2.5 years ago and it performed well except for the last few months where the battery power has become shorter and shorter. It now lasts for 5 minutes at the most. This is disappointing in view of Bosch's reputation for excellence. Otherwise we have found that the vacuum performs well. Show details

Short lived battery

Was a great vaccuum for just under a year. Gradually lost suction and gradually didn’t last as long. Eventually stopped charging. Phoned place of purchase and they stated I needed to contact BOSCH to obtain a Returns authority number. BOSCH has declined this and instead is providing a replacement charger which will be delivered in one week. Until this is tried I am unable to have a RA number. That’s a minimum of one week without a vaccuum with 2 fluffy dogs depending on this actually working. Surely a vaccuum should last more than a year and surely this could be express posted.

Cord was a success. However head attachment ended up breaking during a change and good guys happily offered a refund or exchange. Show details

Absolutely love this, I have 2 one upstairs and one down .... but the downstairs one although fully charged, cuts out after 2 mins. Very disappointing as these are the best I’ve ever had. I’ve had this one for about a year.  Show details

Great vacuum when it works

Love the power of this vacuum but it seems to be one issue after the other. First the handle snapped and I purchased a new one for $100. Not a week later the turbo will only last 2-3 seconds before the vacuum switches off completely! Now the floor brush has stopped spinning! As mentioned, great vacuum when it works, perhaps I have a dud!  Show details

Total rubbish

Having had a Bosch washing machine, we thought their vacuum cleaners would be equally good. WRONG. The supposed easy to use handheld gadgets for cleaning stairs is awful and cumbersome. Yes it's sucking power is quite good and the battery lasts long enough before needing to be re-charged. But it sucks all the grit up and then spits it out when at rest. I wish we had paid more money and bought a Dyson. Despite Which? magazine giving this a reasonably good review the truth is it should be on the Don't Buy list. Show details

Battery doesn't hold charge

We've had this vacuum cleaner for a couple of years. It doesn't hold charge for more than 3 minutes, not long enough to do a single room. Super disappointing. It worked pretty well for the first 12 months, so I'd be interested to see how the reviewers above now feel now that they've had the device for a longer period of time.  Show details

A few issues

Researched this Vac and little disappointed. Emptying the dust container is messy. The main issue though is the filters... the red light comes on sometimes only 10 mins after starting and I find that I have to wash completely each part of the filter (not just shake off the dust) every time I use it but I have to say that Bosch customer service has been very good and sorted the problem promptly.

Serious construction failure

After 3 years of use, cracks appeared at the top, just below the hand grip. I sealed the cracks with a strong glue. After 4 years there was more and more play in the place where the top attachment is placed. This became dangerous and I had to seal it with epoxy kit again. Obviously, the engine is too heavy for the far too light plastic construction. I payed for 5 years of warranty but the insurance company told me that I was not covered for cracks in the frame. They explained me that the cracks could have been caused by improper use..... Show details

Some good, some bad points

I have owned the Bosch Athlet for four years now. There are points about it that I like and some I don't. Here is what I like: the battery life is good. The original battery is still working with enough capacity to clean the house. The machine is light and the suction is sufficient. Negatives: Small stones can get caught in the brush drive, which makes it significantly noisier. I actually bought a new brush head after three years. The detachable handle can break easily if your kid decides to use it as a witches broom.  Show details

Snapped handle - only 2 years old

This Bosch Athlet worked well enough on carpet and hard floors, but recently, in the course of normal use, the handle snapped completely, just below the switch near the top of the handle, rendering it unusable- and I suspect, irreparable. Very disappointing for a quality brand like Bosch. No response from their website after several days. Show details

Disappointed in Bosch

The vacuum worked very well for the first 12 months on both tiles and carpets. The removable hand vacuum was also very handy for cleaning the car. However, the biggest issue with this vacuum is the battery life which has gradually deteriorated. It went from about 30 to 40 minutes of run-time on a full charge to about 5 minutes now. I thought it was just normal but having seen the same reviews from other users, I'm now resigned to the fact that I have a $170 non-functioning vacuum. Very disappointed as I have other Bosch electrical goods that work very well. Show details

Sensor light flashes after only a few minutes

This vacuum does perform well, however in the past couple of months the sensor control light has been flashing red after only a few minutes of use. I'm vigilant about cleaning the filter so I'm at a loss as to what can cause this fault. And it's only a little bit short of two years old.  Show details

Bosch beats all the others

Our new Bosch stick vac is amazing. It has two settings and will pick up even the smallest piece of anything on the floor or carpet. It is light and is the best Vac we have ever owned. We would recommend it to everyone Show details ·  1

Terrible service from Bosch

After a previous review, and with no mutual resolution, I would just like to raise my objections again. I am still extremely disappointed with the service at Bosch and this appliance. After a few months I've finally calmed down enough to take this matter on again. All I want is a mutual resolution and to move on from this matter. For the price of this appliance I would have expected it to last longer than it has. I sincerely want a fair and reasonable outcome after all the trouble I've had with the Bosch call centre. Show details

Bosch Athlet no longer holding charge

This vacuum has been great up until now, where it doesn’t hold any charge. I charge it fully and when I go to turn it on, it works for about a second and then turns off. Anyone know what this can be and how I can get it fixed? Show details ·  1

From Awesome to Awful in Performance and Charge

I've had my Athlet for 2 years and when new could get through my kitchen, dining, lounge and entrance wooden floors in one go, sometimes putting it on turbo (#3) and it cleaned 100%.
Now, it is not lasting half as long, forget turbo, it runs out in 2 mins-(tested) & leaving rolls of dust behind. I clean the brushes & all the filter and I have checked for blockages. So disappointed. Show details

Great vac but battery died after 17 months!

Love this vac on both carpet and floor boards. Flexible and easy to use however after owning this vac for 17 months the battery now dies after not even five minutes of vacuuming on level 2! shame considering this cost $298 and doesn't even last two years. Show details ·  2

Fantastic Unit & Awesome Customer Service

Perfect for my little unit... picks up all the dog hair. Wouldn’t say it has 60mins worth of charge, but there again I run it on turbo and it does have enough charge to get around each room.

I was super devastated today after 3 years the handle snapped in half mid vacuum.

A quick call to the Bosch customer service line and a new handle is on its way at no cost! How’s that for service!

No longevity

Have had this product for just over 2yrs & the battery now lasts less than 5mins once taken off the charger. Used on carpet & lino surfaces, the suction power is quite poor, leaving fine debris even when taken immediately off charger. The fine particles seem to stay in the vacuum head & then are left on the floor where the vacuum is stored during charger. Show details

I would say its good

$299 for this product is fair enough, it does the job. however, it doesn't come with enough accessories, such as you cant really change the header to clean sofa or even small area. At least it should come with a option even if it needs pay extra to get a small clean head adopter somthing. Show details

Very disappointing!

Very disappointed in this vacuum cleaner. It seems to have a design fault where the dirt getting sucked up seems to remain in the tube, rather than going into the dust container, so every few minutes I have to stop and clean out the tube, otherwise the dirt spills out all over the carpet already vacuumed. The turbo is strong but only lasts for a few minutes, then it reverts to "normal", i e. poor suction. The charger stopped working after a couple of months- however Bosch did replace it speedily and free of charge. I thought my Dyson was overrated - however I am sorry I did not buy another one instead of this one. Show details

Does very good job but doesn't last long

Bosch has replaced once for us and second one suffered the same problem as the first one and now I have taken refund. I am sad because Bosch Athlet is superior and sturdy when compared to flimsy and creeking Dyson and we can't use it.

issue is that it stops working, we need Start again and again no matter how regularly the filter is cleaned or battery charger is replaced (solutions advises by Bosch support). Now we use robo vac from Xiaomi, works well but can't do spot cleaning easily. I wish Bosch did something about its Athlet! it is a great for cleaning otherwise I can't find another hand vac as good as this when it works, used Dyson, Hoover and Bosch. Show details ·  3
