First random orbital sander I've owned.

published

I bought my PEX 400 about 15 years ago to sand a plywood dinghy and although it hasn't had a great deal of work since I have kept using it, no issues with Velcro on the backing plate, the little dust filter clogs quickly and it has finally worn out a backing plate ( Velcro was still working). Pictures of replacement backing plates look different, extra ring of dust holes, I hope it works as well as the old one.

Awesome value sander

published

Purchased this sander for maintenance and repair work on hire products in my business. I needed something reliable and gutsy enough to get decent sized jobs done in good time. This sander has plenty of power and has a very clever anti-vibration system so the user doesn’t suffer the old pins and needles that some other ROS present. Totally recommended.

Spot On

Light and perfectly weighted orbital sander. I would say the best I have used. Variable speed control works well. Great control with the front auxiliary handle. Low noise. And comes in a case. Cannot fault!

Very good sander, one of the best I have ever used

Bosch GEX 125 AC Professional is in the top two sanders i have ever used. The one that i like more is the Festool 57187, because of the higher stability it offers. Got the Bosch GEX 125 sander as an recommendation from BestRandomOrbitSanders website and I am really thankful to these guys!

Great sander

The problem with this particular sander is now over. I have spent 7 days drywall sanding with this model. Other than small for the job i am doing, the PEX 400 is brilliant and not once as the disc come off. My main problem is that the vacuum cannot keep up with the sander

Excellent - it is powerful and just goes and goes, does the work of much bigger sanders and is economical on sanding sheets. It's capability in doing finishing sanding is very professional. However, mine is about 15 to 20 years old and I have worn the velcro from the sanding pad and I can't find where to get a new one.
Reliable, powerful, ease of use, speed range for different sanding tasks.
The velcro can wear off or be damaged.

Yes I have had that sort of things happened before once after using 6~7months.
But I thought that happened my casual worker press too hard down.
So I just replaced.
It was under $100 not like $260 or even $700 like fesco?.
It is cost effective way.

Hello, I had the same issue, opened it up to check if the bearing was in working order but the bearing was fine. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my sander, very disappointed since it was relatively new and not used too much. Check YouTube , it might help you. Cheers

What did reviewers think of the Bosch Random Orbit Sander?

Reviews were well and truly mixed about Bosch’s random orbital sander. Among the positive feedback, the sanding tool’s power output and variable speed control was praised, with reviewers saying that it helped them get medium to large-sized jobs done in a relatively short amount of time.

The sander’s stability was also appreciated, with reviewers noting that it was easy to control and reasonably lightweight.

A notable pain point among negative reviews had to do with the discs, with some reviewers staying that the sander threw them off the head well before they had worn out - this made using the tool inconvenient and costly for them.

Another pain point was that the dust collection system was ineffective - reviewers said it didn’t catch much dust, and frequently fell off the tool.
