Bosch upgrade from Miele??
We bought a secondhand Miele dishwasher 30 years ago, thinking it was near new. When it needed a part we were told that dishwasher was 45 years old. How we miss it. We decided to renovate the whole kitchen after the Miele finally broke down, and four months ago bought what we considered the best on the market in our price range. A Miele replacement was too expensive for us.
The next best thing, we decided was a Bosch made in Germany, and settled on the SMV66MX01A/74 a built in with a front panel to match our new kitchen. Fitting was exact and o...

Cleans great, pretty quiet, simple but good
Got the under bench as we had limited depth of bench to work with. Was easily installed and worked well. Did have a strong plastic smell on arrival but called Bosch who express posted some dishwasher cleaner. After a few runs on max temp the smell is very nearly gone. Looks great and very happy with it. Has a mechanical child lock, would be good if this was built into the control panel instead of being a lever above.

This dishwasher is easy to use and cleans well. We scrape the food off items before putting them in but don't need to rinse or scrub them. We follow the maintenance instructions of cleaning the dishwasher and filter regularly, and we haven't had any issues with clogging. Also, it's a very quiet dishwasher, and we can barely tell when it's running.
The cultery drawer at the top saved a fair bit of space at the bottom for larger items, but it also sometimes gets in the way of tall items in the middle rack. This can be worked around by adjusting ...the height of the middle rack, though. The main problems with this dishwasher are metal items come out with rust spots on them, and several items come out a bit wet and need to be dried by hand. Good dishwasher overall!

Dishes are super clean, ultra quiet but layout needs improvements
Have owned this machine for just under a week, this brand and model wasn't my first choice as I was replacing a 15 year old Asko that eventually died right before Xmas and I was going to replace it with another Asko but you have to order Asko products in and I didn't fancy going through Christmas without a dishwasher, so I though I would go with a German made Bosch Dishwasher, It is so quiet you don't know it's running, the dishes come out spotless and completely dry, and super easy to use, my only gripe with this dishwasher is it’s layout, the...upper rack isn't all that great for stacking cups and glasses as they overhang the shelves, the back of the bottom rack the prongs are to close together to allow proper washing if you use each slot, so you can only use every second row and the depth of the rack (front to back) doesn't allow you to put a dinner plates in the back row while putting a slide plate in the front row as they overlap. Also wasn't impressed with residual water left inside the dishwasher from manufacture. The Layout of the the Asko dishwashers is much easier to stack. As Bosch proof reads and moderates reviews before they are published on their website, I though this review site would be give a more accurate picture of their products.

Dishes never come out fully dry even after extra dry option
Every time I start it even after choosing extra dry all dished still wet... my last one in rental property did much better job then this one ... I hope they exchange it ... I choose it as I need black in kitchen

Nice unit but always breaks down
The good = cleans well and is well built and quiet silent in operation
The racks can fold flat so Teflon coated surfaces are not scratched.... however read the annoying part as well as well on that feature..
The cutlery tray is o =ne of the best around.. love it.
the annoying = Controls are hidden on the top hidden part of the door and they tend to rub off after a couple of years of use. This makes program selection hard as the lcd screen is on the front of the door and it wont show the selection to after it starts the cycle. Note $339 to fix this issue... no cheep

Wish it was better, but it's good afterall
I found very disappointing that this expensive integrated dishwasher from Bosch, a very renowned company, has no option for a pre-wash cycle or a rinse cycle only, for when you want to take the edge off some stinky plates in a nearly empty machine. The half cycle doesn't halves the time and won't halve water and energy consumption either I believe.
The shortest cycle this dishwasher has its 29 minutes at 45°
This cycle becomes 44 minutes if you don't want to use rinse aid or if your rinse aid tank is empty.
So, the way this works is: if your re...

Bosch has to be one of my fav dish washers. Very quiet and cleans the dishes perfectly. Lots of features depends on how fast and how deep clean you want to set it. 3 levels with lots of space for all the dishes and cutleries

Great Dishwasher - Tiny Size
We had a very small space in our kitchen and this was the best slimline dishwasher we found in terms of value for money. I didn’t like the cutlery drawer at first but now think it leaves cutlery much cleaner and creates more space. It’s very silent and does a great job cleaning dishes that are really dirty! Let’s hope the performance continues over time!

Quiet and effective
We renovated our kitchen and replaced all appliances with BOSCH. This is my first integrated dishwasher, it looks great being hidden away and was easy to adjust to having the controls on the top/panel. This is a very quiet dishwasher compared to my last (Westinghouse) and we have had no issues with it cleaning effectively.

A perfect slimline dishwasher
We had a very small space to work with, so when we found this dishwasher we were delighted that it fit.
We were surprised by how many dishes it could fit for such a small machine. It's ideal for two people.
The machine does a great job and is much quieter than expected, too.
We really like the feature of being able to set it to go off on a timer.
We bought ours from Powerland.com.au. The price was great and the delivery was super-fast.

After 11 months, performance nose-dived
I chose this dishwasher partly because, at the time, it was at the top of Choice magazine's compact dishwashers recommended list (that has since changed). I also really liked the cutlery drawer (as opposed to a basket). It worked well for the first 11 months or so. It was very expensive, for me anyway ($1100, April 2015, Harvey Norman, plus about $170 for handyman to install it) and I'm now kicking myself for not having bought the extended warranty. After about 11 months I started noticing food still on the dishes and the cutlery coming out loo...king grimy. I rang the local approved service agents, who came out, checked that there were no blockages etc (which there weren't) and they told me it wasn't washing properly because I was stacking it wrong, and also that my cutlery was too cheap. After that I started stacking it exactly according to their instructions but it still didn't wash things properly (as it had for the first 11 months or so). I had the service agents out again and they told me it was still my fault and I had to pay them $160 for their visit, which didn't change anything. And now I'm stuck with a dishwasher (now running it on two cycles per load: pre-rinse and the hottest one, 'Pots & Pans', which I hate doing as I'm on tank water) that still doesn't wash properly. I'm very disappointed as I had always thought "Bosch" meant quality & reliability. This was my first time buying a kitchen appliance over $1000.
Questions & Answers
Hi. We installed our new dishwasher yesterday. I have a query about 'rinse aid'. The 'One Hour' wash lasts one hour but the '29 Minute' wash lasts 44 minutes. It is always 29 minutes plus 15 minutes for rinse aid. I have turned off the 'refill the rinse aid light' and that does not help. Are all these dishwashers like this or is there something wrong with mine? Thanks.
Hi Mary B.
Thank you for your question. Rinse aid is required for the quick wash to operate within 29 minutes. If it is not used the dishwasher will recognise that a tablet is being used without rinse aid and the program duration will change to 44 minutes. This is because a tablet will not fully dissolve within 29 minutes, and so it would result in sub-optimal wash results. The rinse aid component requires more time to dissolve, hence if rinse aid liquid is used the dishwasher will use this instead and pump out the water containing the undissolved rinse aid tablet particles. If would like to speak with someone about this, please feel free to call our team on 1300 369 744 (select option 2), and we'll be happy to discuss the matter further with you. Kind regards Bosch Home Australia.
Thank you very much. Mary
I did as you suggested but the Rinse Aid just seems to pour out the other side of the compartment. What am I not doing correctly?
HI I purchased a Bosch SMP66MX03A DARK STAINLESS STEEL BUILT UNDER DISHWASHER about a month ago, it runs beautifully and quiet, washes and dries very well, but the only thing that annoys me to the hilt is the fact I don't know where the time remaining display is shown. All I can see is a re dot but no time visible anywhere. The specs say there is an info light and time remains display. From what I understand if the red light is supposed to tell you its running, where is the time remaining displayed??? The top panel is hidden so it would be nonsensical to say the least if it is shown there. On the other machines there a white light with time remaining shown on the floor. I haven't checked if this is what I have missed, but have noticed it either. Can someone please clarify as the specs indicate there is a display.
I bought brand new BOSCH SMP66MX03A black stainless steel undermount dishwasher but all instructions in German and other language, but not in English so unable to install as we don't any other language than English. Any help, would be highly appreciated.
Our manual had both languages. There should be an English version online. Google?
