Not value for money
I purchased this oven mid-2016 hoping it would be well made and worth the extra expense (compared to other brands). Unfortunately the fan has completely died already! The oven doesn’t get heavy use, probably a few times a week. The seal has come off in parts too. Really disappointed. I haven’t had a service tech out yet, but if the oven is too expensive to repair I certainly wouldn’t get this brand again.
Update: After a period on hold I got through to 'customer service' who could tell me the call out fee ($148 for 30 mins, then $10 for each a...dditional 6 mins) but not an indication of parts. For that, I had to hang up, call Bosch again and select a different number from the menu. That lady was a lot more helpful, informing me the fan would be $150 and seal $23. She has transferred me back to the original service number, but it has been ringing unanswered now for a lengthy period of time. So again I need to hang up, call bosch a 3rd time in the space of 10mins so sort out my $1400 lemon of an oven that isn't even 5yo.

Excellent oven so far
Very happy with this purchase, cooks evenly & temp seems spot on. Rapid heat up is a great feature & the range of features is fine. Would recommend to others & happily buy another Bosch oven

What a DUD complete disaster
This oven is the best con job ever. When you first use it it works fine cooks great then when the oven decides it needs the pyrolitic cleaning cycle prepare to panic that this oven will burn your house down. It generated that much heat that it cremated one of the glass panels in the door resulting in five long brown streaks around ten cm long these streaks were enclosed in the glass pane and could not be cleaned. Result had to be replaced. Nine days for Bosch to have someone come and look at it fourteen days later the part was ordered fourt...een days later they have the part but the service person does not know how to reassemble the door. Bosch arranges for another service person to assemble the door fourteen days later nothing has been done I have a hole in the wall for seven weeks now and Bosch Germany who I emailed 9/11/20 could not even look into my complaint. If HO could not care less what chance is the local Bosch branch going to be any better. I have several Bosch products in my home never ever again will I buy Bosch the customer service in regards to their duty of care to their customers is shocking. This oven is not of merchantable quality and is not fit for purpose.

Don’t think. Do.
Best oven I’ve had by a mile. Perfect crackling every time, no mistake. Pyrolytic works a dream. Could not recommend more. Had Westinghouse, looked at Miele, Bosch is great value at great price.

The inside glass panel broke after 2 weeks
A few weeks ago, my very old, trustworthy gas oven came to end and I decided to replace it with a fancy new electric Bosch oven. I read the reviews and decided to get what I thought was a premium product. It worked beautifully a few times and then...fast forward two weeks: I was getting something out of the oven, the door was open and a butter knife that was on my bench fell on the glass door and SHATTERED it! Just like that. Not a hammer. A butter knife!
I found out 1) how delicate this expensive oven is and much worse, 2) the inside panel is ...

I very much regret this purchase.
The control panel is one of the least intuitive ever. You need the instruction book for simple tasks like changing the time. The "rotary selector" -its dial for changing settings is very difficult to rotate and you have to jam your fingernails behind it just right to turn it. Once it's going it's OK. Definitely not recommended. Fix your user interface, Mr Bosch!

Plenty to like. Only one flaw.
We bought our oven through Retravision. We have had our kitchen renovated and opted for all Bosch appliances and I wanted them made in Germany. We wanted a quality oven to replace its el-cheapo predecessor. When cooking with our previous oven, you had to stop half way through and rotate the food to get it to cook evenly, the element blew routinely and the temperature was largely guesswork.
Enter the Bosch oven and we found a whole new world. I should mention that it was delivered to my front lawn packaged in flimsy styrofoam wrapped with shrink...

We never thought an oven would be as good as this!
This oven has been life changing, we got it installed just after Christmas. I'm excited to cook because I want to make use of all the features. It's got reset programs for baking - we've used the small breads option which turned out pretty good. We've also used the meat probe for our first oven roast in years and it was to perfection. The pyrolysis cleaning option also worked great (after my husband's roast splattered fat all over, it was so easy to clean). We've also used it to incubate our homemade yoghurt overnight and to speed up homemade bread proofing. I love it!

Touch buttons stopped working
Oven only 1.5 years old and the touch buttons stopped working! Can’t select cooking options. Now need to chase up for repairs. I expect top line over last longer than that and should be fit for purpose! A very dissatisfied owner.

5 stars - pure & simple
5 stars in every aspects including cosmetics, functionality, performance. Heats rapidly, appears to stay clean more so than normal ovens, easy to wipe off & back to new condition. dial function is very handy, modern & different too, than boring dials with numbers. Love it.

Bought this oven along with the CMG633B.1B compact oven with microwave function to go in our brand new kitchen. After 25 years with our old oven, the last 12 months not having it working at all, our new oven is a god send. Cooks beautifully BUT takes a while getting use to the preprogrammed settings, time and heat settings which differ significantly from our old oven. Comes with a manual that had extensive instructions for a wide variety of meals telling you exactly which setting and time to put them on for eg: leg of lamb, boned, medium - cook...ware, uncovered - shelf position 2 - fan forced - 170-190 degrees - 50-80mins. Can’t really go wrong with that but to be truthful , we’ve done a lot of trial and error rather than refer to the booklet. Tried the pyrolitic cleaning function after doing roast pork that spat fat all over the interior of our nice clean new oven. Have to say I was a little disappointed. It did burnt to ash most of the fat splashes but needed to clean the oven door glass again. The control dial and touch settings are well set out and easy to use. Just makes sense once you get use to them. Get ready for lots of beeps and for the fan to keep going for around 5 - 10 minutes after you finish cooking to cool the oven down. You can adjust the fan cooling time in settings though . Overall a much better oven than what we had and looking forward to mastering it over the next 25 years.

This oven perfectly cooks everything we place in it. To get the best out of it you have to read the user manual and become familiar with its many settings.
The pyrolytic feature is brilliant for cleaning the oven. It leaves a white dust on the sides which you just wipe out once it’s finished cooling down. The oven is extremely quite in its operation as well! Well done Bosch.

Don’t buy this oven
We chose this oven as in our prior renovation we had the older series equivalent and were extremely happy with it. The newer model (serie 8) is not user friendly and my husband and I curse at it at least once a month. Yes it cooks - however this should be a non-negotiable with ovens at this price bracket. What we find endlessly frustrating is the complexity of selecting the appropriate settings, a timer that does not display (instead the oven displays how long it has been on for... who cares?!), the 2 telescopic shelf rails are too close togeth...er so we constantly use a different shelf so our two trays of food fit (prior series had this right... why change it?!). It requires additional brain function to select the appropriate setting when again the prior series was so simple. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve accidentally (a) turned the oven off when meaning to amend something else, (b) selected an incorrect setting, (c) used a separate timer (phone/watch etc) as I can watch it count down as the oven doesn’t display this, (d) had to refer to the instruction manual to work out how to do something as the oven is not intuitive. In a brand new home build our only regrets were purchasing this oven and the second oven which sits next to it in our kitchen the Serie 8 HBG633BS1.

We should have purchased another Brand
The oven is great, Oven appears to cook food evenly the grill is good, the best feature is the rapid heat setting (preheat) that gets the oven up to temperature very quickly, the only reason for the 1 star they do not have a Service Agent in Gippsland where I am located and if it develops a fault it's my problem which has been the issue with a cooktop I purchased at the same time. Bosch don't want to know you when this happens. They don't call back, Customer service is not good. I have been chasing them for weeks.

Great oven that cooks evenly
This oven has served us well, we like to bake lots of breads and pastries which requires the oven to heat and cook evenly. It has only ever not done that when we put it on the wrong shelf (shelf 2 is the best for baking).
The bakery proving feature is really handy and can speed up the making of a cake to a couple of hours.
Only issue I have with it is the touch screen sometimes not responding, it doesn't happen enough to really be a hassle though.

All product faults are installation faults
I bought this oven from Appliance Online and got it installed from licensed carpenter. We noticed that door is not aligned and oven does not sit properly in the cabinet. My carpenter showed me that the diagonals differ by few millimetres. When I raised complaint for the first time they warned me if it is installation fault I will be charged. Since then I have sent many photographs details and two engineer have visited from their partner as Bosch do not have their own engineers. First engineer tried to fix the door to an extent. The second engin...eer showed spirit level that since the oven is not levelled it is unaligned. We have tried to explain Bosch that my cabinet is perfectly levelled but we had to intentionally put support as oven is shorter on one side. However they are not ready to listen or escalate this issue. The oven has no functional issues.

Questions & Answers
hello our bosh HBG6753S1A is not very old and we are having real problems moving the control dial around. It seems to be very sticky. In fact, most often I need to use a non slip plastic drawer liner to move the control dial around. It certainly wasn't like this when first purchased, and as both of my children have left home and it has only been my husband and I here since it was installed, it doesn't get an awful amount of use. is this normal for the dial to get sticky and difficult to move around? Is there anything I can try to fix this please?
We have a new Bosch oven. I want to clean it and really don’t want to use the self clean option in a wall oven. Can I use Easy Off like I always used for our previous oven?
Hi. ! My touch panel is not working correctly. I want to access "Basic Settings" menu button. It will not respond when you touch the sensor button. I have tried touching the "Basic Settings" button using a number of different pressure and length of time. I have also now found that the "Clean button" is also is not responding. Using other menu options I have found these 2 buttons either do not work or take sometime to respond. I did have a service person come out some 8 months ago with a similar problem I was having with the Oven. I was advised by a Bosch technician that keeping the surface clean and dry helps, plus the way that you touch the sensor button may effect the buttons response. Things seemed to work for a little while. Now the problems have returned, only worse. The oven is now only 30 months old ! Have turned it off at the house fuse box a number of times but no change.
I would be interested in any thoughts before I put in another "Service request" Which obviously will cost me. Any ideas ?
