Not a premium product - don’t recommend!!
Bought Bosch series 8 Tumble Dryer brand new. It worked ok until about a year ago (about 2 and a half years) when it started making a bearing noise. Now it is leaving the clothes damp and not drying properly. We have fastidiously maintained the lint filters kept them always clean and free of lint. The machine looks brand new. It is unfortunate that what should be a premium brand and costs a premium price should be so flawed. I read online now that this appears to be a common fault - without any user cleanable or repairable parts looks to be flawed in parts and design. Very disappointing. I would recommend to buy another brand as the this all occurred relatively shortly after the warranty expired!!6 years old and no longer viable
We purchased this model in 2018. It was working well until approximately six months ago when we experienced the issue that seems commonly reported here where loads were in the machine for hours but not drying. We firstly had a regular appliance technician complete a service to clean the machine ($270) and then when that didn't work, we went directly to Bosch to get a technician ($170).
After his visit, he confirmed that the condenser needed cleaning but as it's not accessible, would need to go to a service agent which I understand will be ove... Read more
r $600 so they can collect it, take it away, strip machine so they can access condenser and remove lint. Similar to other owners, we are pedantic with removing lint after every load but this is an area that is unreachable but us and indeed Bosch technicians. It just seems non cost effective to go ahead with this $600 cleanse when it's only going to happen again (and after already spending $430 on technicians). I approached Bosch Customer Service to see if we could at least get a discount on another model. But the answer was an unequivocal 'no' as the machine 'can be repaired'. Even though it really seems to be an issue with the design of dryer to not have a condenser that clearly needs regular maintenance accessible by regular technicians.Designed to fail
The “self cleaning” condenser is designed so that it gets clogged with fluff and stops drying efficiently or at all after some time. Even though the lint filter was cleaned religiously after each load, it no longer heats up and dries anything. It seems that this is because the condenser is clogged and it’s too expensive to pay anyone to pull the entire thing apart to flush the condenser. So a $2.5k washer does not last more than 5 years. Not recommended. Show detailsBosch Serie 8 WTW87565AU : Badly designed product
I've had a serie 8 Bosch dryer (WTW87565AU) for the last 4 years or so. My door latch has just broken and I've looked at the Bosch website and it appears that I have to order a whole new front door assembly and there doesnt appear to be any instructions on the Bosch website as one should disassemble the door (particularly relevant as there doesnt appear to be any screws holding it together). Why couldn't the door be designed so that the latch could be changed out by just undoing 2 screws? Ridiculous design!Update:

Doesnt dry properly. After taking out a load of 5 pieces of clothes that are still damp after 2.5hrs of drying, i thought I should write something to warn others. This is a terrible dryer. It takes all day to dry a full load. We got a technician out after a few months and they declared there was nothing wrong with it. This was our first dryer, and naively we believed them.
Don't know why we've persisted with it for so long, but next weekend I'm getting a hisense.
Looking at all the other problems people have had with Bosch heat pump dryers, I'd warn anyone from buying one. I certainly never am again. Show details
I would give 0 if there’s an option
I paid more for this dryer to last. But didn’t expect it to last 3 years bc them what’s the point to get mor $$ dryer when you can just get cheap ones and replace them more often?!Moisture sensor malfunction and what does Bosch do about it?
Nothing
It’s out of warranty so they would not even offer a technician to come out and have a look without charging me… ridiculous… I did not know they don’t consider amount you pay for their products, as there’s no point to get something more expensive to expect it’s better quality and that it will last you longer… Show details
Disgusting Customer Service - DON’T BUY A BOSCH HEAT PUMP DRYER!
After 3 years of use, this dryer no longer dries. It could take up to 8 hours and still the clothes were damp. I have been having problems for over 6 months, but due to recovering from several surgeries I have only just contacted Bosch now. The technician from Bosch came out and said that there was fluff on the condenser and that it was a common problem with this model. There are only 2 of us in this house and every time I used this dryer I cleaned both the filters in the door and I washed and scrubbed them weekly (as Bosch recommend). On the ... Read moreBosch website, it shows this model has writing down the bottom that says ‘Self Cleaning Condenser’ - my machine does not have this on it. The newer models are self cleaning and they also have a pull out compartment at the bottom of the machine that you can clean out and stop fluff building up on the condenser. They do not make this model any more as there was obviously a design fault with machine as they have changed the designs on the newer models. Bosch said I would have to pay a service agent to clean the condenser. Why would I bother to do this if it is only going to build up again, due to the bad design and I would have to pay again later when it stops drying the clothes? I offered to pay the difference to update to the newer design so that the fluff would not build up - Bosch said they don’t do that. This is terrible customer service when Bosch know there is a problem with this model! After reading all the terrible reviews on this Bosch model, I am certainly not alone in being frustrated by the lack of any help from Bosch. Update: Bosch Service have now contacted me and have arranged to have my dryer repaired at their expense. I would have preferred to pay the difference and updated to a newer model that I could clean the fluff from the condenser, but they still refused to do this.Doesn't dry clothes.... the one job it needs to do
Worked initially, not like a usual dryer but I didn't expect that. Now failing to dry clothes at all or takes 5hours, have followed the trouble shooting - it makes no difference. Expensive and doesn't work. Do not buy, all reviews say the same thing, but were not available when we purchased. Clearly a problem with the product as discontinued.I called the number provided by Bosch- I get to book a service call at my own expense.
Update - we payed the $165 call out fee, they said they were unable to fix, we've been quoted an additional $635 to fix the dryer - so $800 total. Show details

We rarely ever use the dryer, and only resort to using it for emergencies. So the unit is essentially brand new. However despite racking extremely low hours on this unit, and making sure the lint filters are all cleaned out before and after every load, we've had a technician come once to fix the water sensor, and for the past couple of years, we've been experiencing the dreaded water drainage issue that many others here are experiencing. We had a technician come out to look at this issue back in 2020, and we're still having issues.I'm never b... Read more
een as angry with a household appliance, as I am with this Bosch Serie 8 dryer. I'm tempted to just throw it out and rid myself of the headache of the routine wondering will it or won't it work today each time I consider using it. Some folks suspect that essentially there's a massive pile of gunk in the sump pit that's blocking the water from draining properly. Unfortunately said sump pit, from what I can gather, is extremely difficult to reach. I thought Bosch was a reputable brand in home white goods which is why I purchased both dryer and washer back in 2017, but both units have just been constant headaches, within and beyond their warranty periods. I finally had enough and rang up Bosch today (Saturday 2PM AEST), and of course, they're closed. They're open 24 hrs Monday to Friday but they're closed for the weekends. Why not reduce some of those trading hours during the week, and add weekend coverage. These Bosch units will be the last Bosch appliances I ever purchase, and I recommend others consider do the same and save yourselves the headaches.Bosch condenser Serie 8 Dryer - Expensive rubbish - Don't buy one
Had to give it a star, couldnt post review otherwise. Minus 5 stars would be appropriate.Have had nothing but trouble with Bosch Serie 8 condenser dryer. Wish I'd never bought it. Very expensive $2k mistake. Dont buy Bosch appliances. They had a good name once. Not any more, & you dont need the headache. I am not alone in regretting this purchase.

Broke within 2 years now waiting for parts and service
Update:After being told it was the filter, the technician has come out again and assessed the machine. He now says the condenser is the issue and needs replacement. A common issue. The pump and the filter are not the issue. The condenser used to be serviceable and is now self-cleaning.
Sydney appliance services finally attended on 16/7/2022 to replace the pump. He said all fixed. Go to use it on Saturday and issue not fixed and clothes are as wet as they went in. Contacted the good guys concierge stating it has not been fixed. The 4 weeks to ... Read more
repair are now up. Told that they have to raise a new claim as old claim closed even though not repaired. Sent to domestic and general to sit waiting on hold for ages to be told sorry it was fixed and denied the replacement guarantee and that 4 weeks starts again. Then sent through to Sydney Appliance Services to get the techician that failed to fix it cancelled 2 times to come out and diagnose the issue. He has failed 2 x already, ordered wrong part, installed what he thought was the right part only for the issue to still occur. Not happy. Another appliance bites the dust and have to sit waiting and waiting for parts to fix it. It does not dry clothes. It will spin all day only for the clothes to remain as wet as when they went in. 2 times now have had service technician cancel and now have a dryer sitting in the middle of my kitchen waiting for them to figure out what is wrong with it.I thought Bosch Product is made to Last
We bought this product in Good Guys. Minimum 3.5 hours to dry 1 load of clothes. Worst was it is only less than 3 years old and Pump is not working already. Water sits on the bottom part of the machine. Not sure if Bosch is still a leading brand that we can trust. Show detailsHi Dexter, Thanks for your review, we appreciate the feedback. This dryer does not dry cotton sheets. I have had the dryer for 13 months and have complainted to Bosch numerous times in the last 5 months. Whether I put in 1 QS sheet or a sheet set, the dryer turns them into a tightly wound ball and I have to keep stopping the cycle and unwinding the sheet/s every 5 minutes. Bosch have told me to fold the sheets and reduce the speed. I tried the towel cycle and the 'down/quilt' cycle. Same result. This dryer is not working as advertised.Hi Hdumpty, Thanks for your review, we appreciate the feedback. The drum does not change direction (unlike every other dryer I have owned) and so the sheets end up curled into a tight football and are wet throughout. I have to come in every 5 minutes (literally every 5 minutes) and take them out and reload. I even do the fitted sheets by themselves so this increases the number of loads and the time taken to get the washing dried as nothing else can go in with a fitted sheet or it ends up curled inside it. I do not recommend this product. In fact despite it only being 12 months old, I'm going to get rid o... Read moref it. I don't know why they don't make it so the drum alternates direction. If there is a Bosch rep out there - I'm open to ideas. It does a reasonable job of drying on most cycles but the 'towels' cycle does not dry my 2 towels, 1 face washer and 1 bathmat. It always requires 1 cycle plus an extra 20mins drying cycle. 14 Jan 2022 Bosch rep contacted me advising to fold sheet to reduce the surface area, then put in dryer. I did this and it was about 10pc better but after drying just the 1 sheet for nearly an hour, the edges were still damp where it had been folded. I still have to put each sheet in all by itself which immediately means I have hours of running the dryer just for 1 sheet set. I still rate this dryer as a big fail and do not recommend it at all. I will be tossing it out even tho it is less than 3 years old. 18 Feb 2022: I have contacted Bosch for a refund since I've figured out I have only used the dryer for 12 months and only on rainy days. Today I had one light-weight sheet in the dryer and I had to unravel it within 2.5 minutes. Ridiculous! I ended up standing there for 20minutes unravelling it out of the tight ball every 2.5 minutes. When I look at other reviews of this product on retail websites, the overwhelming issue is this balling of the sheets and the fact that it does not dry towels/clothes properly without using multiple cycles. I will only buy another Bosch dryer if it reverses direction during a cycle. I am waiting to hear back from Bosch. 9/3/22: Bosch have told me that the product is working to specification and my claim is rejected. Great. It's a dryer that doesn't dry and it's allegedly working to specification. How? I've now tried using every setting just to dry a cotton sheet or 2 cotton sheets and it doesn't work. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how to progress this?Hi Hdumpty, Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear you're not enjoying your appliance. As with everyone, worked kind of ok to start, now takes 6 hours to dry one towel. I hardly used this dryer, because hours later everything still wet. Service guy said low usage but seems nothing wrong with it. Piece of landfill, expensive, hopeless with sheets, so frustrated I would never buy a Bosch again, and I tell all my friends the same when they ask for recommendations. at pump dryer offers better protection for your clothes. Although it takes slightly longer to dry a load, compared to a standard condenser dryer, it can help to significantly reduce your energy consumption. Heat Pump dryers use only a fraction of the energy needed by other types of dryers, having a higher energy star rating then a condenser or vented dryer. We urge you to call our team on 1300 369 744 (select option 2), so we can discuss the matter. We would be happy to also go through some trouble shooting with you, so we can ensure you are getting the optimal drying performance from the appliance. Kind regards Bosch Home Australia.- Prev
