best dishwasher i have had.
this dishwasher is absolutely the best. i dont have to rinse anything prior to running the dishwasher. the cycle for longer drying means plastic containers cone out dry. it is quiet and very efficient. the slide out cutlery rack at the top is an excellent innovation.

Not a good start for a machine Made in Germany.
We bought a Bosch series 6 from Harvey Norman two weeks ago. After using the machine delayed start option for the first time we realised that dishes and cutlery were greasy, a poll of water was on the bottom of the appliance and an error was showing up on the display (E-24)
Waiting on a technician to come and check the appliance.

Good but not as solid as Asko.
Bought this a week ago and although it’s quiet the top rack feels more flimsy than our 10yr old Asko it is replacing. Also removed the top cutlery draw as it doesn’t leave enough room for the top rack when using tall cups and noticed a bigger knife not clean after an Eco wash. I’m assuming it wouldn’t get much water sprayed up as their is a full draw below it. Top draw layout isn’t as good for bowls and cups as our old Asko, seems very cramped. Paid $1197 although our Asko would’ve been a $1800 dishwasher. Current Asko series dishwashers didn’...t seem to get the same high reviews as our old one. Time will tell on the series 6, and for the money would want to last 10yrs. It is quiet and first wash I pushed the start button twice as first time I didn’t hear anything although it had started. Does clean well and dries well.

Great dishwasher - met our expectations
Purchased from Good Guys for $1088 in early March.
Performs all functions well including washing and drying. We usually quickly wipe excess scraps off crockery and pots.
Adjustable top shelf and glass holders very useful.
easy operating panel.

"Super silent" - what a joke - 50db not 44.
Unsatisfied, completely. It's louder than our 10+ year old Miele dishwasher. In fact, it reads at 50db! Not 44 db. Average of 46db halfway through the cycle... Super disappointed. I wouldn't recommend. Good Guys service was great on the other hand, they got the dishwasher to us within 12 hours of purchase.

Feels high quality and durable have high hopes for many years of problem free washing
Only had this for a few days but so far great. Very quiet, quick cycles and delay function to set to run at off peak times. Washes well so far. Made in Germany so is a real Bosch (recommend over the Turkish made Bosch that smell like fish). Panel and mechanics seem very solid and durable unlike the cheaper alternatives I looked at.

I loved this dishwasher. Its excellent, functional and a joy to use, I have used so many in the past and even love the white colour. Weird but I THINK ITS WAY better than silver. Well done Bosch.

Excellent dishwasher, wish I'd spent the money years ago
We always knew that Bosch did amazing dishwashers, so we knew what to expect when we got this one, but WOW! We are so impressed with how amazing this machine is. I didn't realise how badly our old dishwasher did it's job until the first time I used the Bosch.
Firstly, everything actually comes out dry! We had this schedule with our old dishwasher where we'd put it on after dinner and then catch it just as it finished so we could open the door and air everything out to dry. Otherwise the dishes literally never dried and we'd have to stand there...with a tea towel as we emptied it, sometimes up to 24 hours later. With the Bosch you just turn it on and forget about it, and the next time you open it everything is clean, dry and sparkling! It's like magic! I put my Thermomix bowl in the Bosch and when it came out it looked brand new! I thought it was just getting old and tatty (it's 6 years old) but it is so shiny and the plastic has been restored so it's a nice, deep grey colour. Our old dishwasher just turned it a dried out white colour and I was considering getting a new bowl. Now there's no need, it just needed to be cleaned properly! The cutlery drawer is a life-changer. There is actually so much more room for everything else now that we don't have to arrange it around the old cutlery basket, the only problem is that we're not used to it and keep forgetting to empty it. It isn't until I'm out of teaspoons that I realise they're all still in the dishwasher!! Ha! And it's SO quiet. No pipes banging on the wall in our old house, literally no sound comes from it at all.

Would marry this if I could!
This product is so easy to use, the controls and settings simple to follow. It even tells you how much time is left to run on the setting and turns off the power when it is finished.
I do tend to rinse my plates but that’s just an old habit. There is absolutely no need to rinse or scrape.
I have only had this dishwasher for about six months and nothing has become clogged yet but the filters are easy to clean

Nice dishwasher, very quiet and good to be able to remove shelves
Have had this for a month and am very happy so far. The machine is quiet, and cleans well. THe quick cycle isn't as short as prior models but still really great. The hygiene wash is good, I also like the removable shelves - but the cutlery top draw isn't my fav.
Initially had a problem with the machine after the first wash where it smelt like fish. Used a descale cleaner and it seems to have gone. So a little concerned about this in the longer-term but guess I will cover this when i get to it.
installation instructions said to look for a red dot - that didn't seem to exist - so spent far too long on that.

Strange how only the 5 star reviews get responded to & anything less is ignored.Customer service is poor if you are having a problem with your new washer, even when paying extra for the Concierge service.

Very happy with this super quiet and does what is supposed to.
Had for two months now....and received Finish products as part of the promotion. I already use Finish Powerball but the Finish products they sent me actually work even better. I was getting some residue in the cups but the new Finish tabs have eliminated that.
It's easy to stack and the option to fold down some on the racks makes it practical for large pots that I would have previously hand washed.
It's a no thought appliance that does what it's supposed to, with mimimum of fuss or noise.

2 warranty claims in 8 months. When it is functioning it is great.
Purchased April 2019. Control board failed and was repaired under warranty after 3 months of use. Took 5 weeks to repair. Control board has once again failed at 8 months and now we wait the extended time for the next repair to occur. Very disappointed that we have had to make 2 warranty claims in 8 months. Unacceptable Bosch. This unit should be replaced at your cost. Clearly faulty.

Good and bad
It's a very quiet and power and water efficient dishwasher. It does a good job of washing dishes but has two disadvantages compared to our 20 year old Blanco.
1. It's not easy to stack but that may be a matter of getting used to it. Wine glasses are a problem.
2. It leaves a lot of water on dishes at the end of the cycle, particularly cups with indented bottoms.
Bosch assure me this is normal.
It may be that the trade-off of having something quiet and efficient is to have a poorer performance in some ways compared to a 20 year old unit.
Unfortunately thoroughly disappointed
I bought a Bosch SMS66 on 27/11/18 because I thought it was a top quality product, but I was sorely disappointed from day one. There are three issues with it: 1) It does not dry much, things are dripping wet when you open the door, 2) if the machine is not used for more than a day it will develop a smell inside, and 3) it does not seem to clean as well as our old Dishlex 301. The latter is something that I do not take too seriously at the moment, because only having used it for 5 weeks does not supply sufficient data to base sound statisti...cs on. The drying is a serious problem to me, our old Dishlex was much better at it, despite me using the “extra dry” option, and regardless whether I use “auto wash” or “auto intensive” program. I had a technician out to have a look at it on 24/12, and was later told that the machine had no fault but was working “within specifications”. If such poor drying and developing a smell is within specifications, I actually do not want the machine any longer. I am now working towards having it returned and getting a top quality machine in its stead, may be a Miele. I have sent the salesperson at GoodGuys photos of how wet dishes are when the cycle is finished, and he wanted to contact Bosch to see what can be done. I do not mind if the next machine will cost some more, as long as this means I am getting a top quality machine. Which was what I wanted in the first place. ---UPDATE 12 MARCH 2019--- After Bosch posted an invitation to make contact on the productreview website, I spoke to a representatvie who only asked me if the fault still existed. I confirmed. She said that she would pass this on to the technical team and they would ring me on 17 Januray 2019. This call never came. So may be the posting in response to my review was just a PR exercise. This is hard for me to say, as I lived my first 30 years in Germany and grew up with Bosch standing for top quality, but now I would never buy Bosch again. When I was foreman in a large Holden Dealership in 2000/2001, we exchanged Bosch alternators nearly on a daily basis under warranty, as they were not charging. Comment from Bosch at the time: They are built for a price. In about 2003, I had to dismantle my 3 year old Bosch frontloader washing machine, grind the rust off, and respray it. During the exercise I found a sticker "made in Malaysia", which was disappointing as I thought I had bought a german machine. So sorry to say, never again will I buy Bosch, they lost their way ages ago.

Questions & Answers
Hi , I am also asking whether this model sms66mw01a dishwasher can have hot water input fitted to the machine.
Our current dishwasher (not bosch) is older and takes hot water supply, this works well for us as we have alternate energy supply for our household hot water heating.
Thankyou in advance.
It only has one input tap. But the dishwasher heats the water so you only need cold.
To clarify I am wanting to put hot water supply into the one input line.
Hi springfarmer, Thanks for your question, The dishwasher can be connected to cold or hot water up to max. 60°C. Connection to hot water is recommended if the hot water can be supplied by energetically favorable means and from a suitable installation, e.g. solar heating system with circulation line. This will save energy and time. The hot water setting allows you to adjust your appliance optimally to operation with hot water. It is recommended to have a water temperature (temperature of the incoming water) of at least 40 °C and no more than 60 °C. It is not recommended to connect the appliance to hot water if the water is supplied from an electric boiler. If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744.

Hi, do you HAVE TO use finish or similar products? I have rarely used them in my Dishlex dishwasher and have read that some dishwashers actually state that a rinse aid MUST be used. Looking to buy this model Bosch in the next day or so. Mike
Best ask Bosch, they are very helpful. Still very happy with our dishwasher.
Hi PRS OIL, thanks for your question. We recommend Finish but you can use any brand you wish. Regards, Bosch Home Australia.
How do I operate the pre-rinse cycle on the SMS66MW01A? All the literature makes it sound like there is a stand alone pre-rinse program but I can't find it! Thanks.
Hi Eva, thanks for your question. Our dishwashers do not have a stand alone pre-rinse cycle, the pre-rinse is already included in the program cycles. Regards, Bosch Home Australia.
